YOKO TARO’S 2019 NEW YEAR MESSAGE
It’s already the last day of this year.. Let’s do a flash back on the events of this year..
It is mainly a year review for acquaintances….

My condition was pretty bad overall this year.
I feel that my body or spirit was not in a good spot for over half of a year. The age beyond 40 is those time when the speed of getting in bad condition goes faster than the speed curing yourself.
If the difference of those speeds goes wider, people may die. But maybe he will die of a traffic accident tomorrow.
I do not understand.

This year I did not release any game in particular so I should not have any overseas business trips ….
But then I have more overseas business trips than I expected. I was tired but I enjoyed it.

There were also two concerts for some reason.
NieR Orchestra Concert 12018 and SINOALICE Orchestra Concert
I made the video depiction of NieR Orchestra Concert and it was much more intense than I imagined. But it was good to do it .
I always try to do something different than before.
So this time it’s “Telling the meaning of the concert story by text and visual information rather than reading (in concert)”
I tried the whole thing for the first time. It’s the story when 2B and the original Emil met for the first time. In terms of chronology, it is also seems to be exquisite to do the last story with a concert.

The SINOALICE Concert was an unexpected project, and while I was not on the concert, SINOALICE team worked hard (more than usual) and performed safely. I only gave the concept of game’s scene and Gishin - Anki argument, but I thought that the idea of Mr. Aoki who gave away garbage SINOALICE weapons was good. But I do not know well about it.

YoRHa Boy Stage, YoRHa Musical Stage, Thou Shalt Not Die Stage
When I said “I want to do the stage play”, I did not think that it would be such a thing to do.
What I finally found through three works was a conclusion that
“The stage is created by an original story, directing, and actors. And the audiences will finish it.”
Unlike a game where you can control everything, there are situations where the stage can’t replicate that, but that is the situation when a moment of miracle that goes beyond expectations happens.
And I’m thankful for those who are involved and the actors.

NieR Automata that came out in early 2017 sold 3.5 million copies, and SINOALICE also is also such a hit. That aftermath continued until the end of 2018.
It was thanks to PlatinumGames, fans, and the media. For me, I feel that I was watching the muddy flow. The word “Thank you” is not enough for you all, because I got a much better results than my level of ability.

All I wrote above is the past jobs that’s over, and I also do new work so I can keep on living, naturally. I am tired of being bored with a single job and starting another job and just left it unfinished.
With the success of the NieR Automata and the position of becomes stronger than my ability, “This new proposal” goes through. After all, I declined all work from around this spring and I am trying to manage this current upcoming work.
