I go by SmilesThroughFandoms on Ao3. A blog for my stories and my own personal blog. I enjoy Lego Monkie Kid, Ace Attorney, Pokemon, Marvel, and all the Gay Stuff™️. I will post about anything and everything that I like, so if we share a common interest, sweet!
Hey guys! So the next chapter is being pushed back another week cause I’m experiencing ✨Mental Health Issues✨ (nothing to concerning, just my brain doing dumb brain things and I just need a couple days to bounce back) Sooooo here’s a final preview to tide you guys over! Enjoy!
“Do either of you have a computer I can plug this into?”
The old man leaned forward to get a better look at the piece of plastic while Sae-byeok tilted her head like a confused puppy. “What is it?” The old man asked.
“It’s-it’s a flash drive.” Gi-hun faltered for a moment.
“You mean that subscription service that let’s people rent out fancy cars for a night?” Sae-byeok asked.
“No, no. That’s FlashRide.” The old man corrected her. “I thought a flash drive was when a bunch of teenagers steal a car and take it for a spin.
Sae-byeok shook her head. “No, that's a Joy Ride. Isn’t Flash Drive that really, really old movie about illegal car racing and family?”
“No, that’s Fast and Furious. But I think you’re onto something! A flash drive is that really, really, really old movie about that one dance!”
“What one dance?”
“You know the one.”
“I don’t know. That’s why I’m asking—”
“He means Flash Dance!” Gi-hun suddenly shouted, startling the other two. “He’s talking about the American movie Flash Dance, about a welder who works as a strip club dancer who wants to become a professional, accomplished dancer. A flash drive is piece of portable tech that allows people to move stuff off of one computer—like videos and music and other files—and moved to another computer!”
After getting over the shock of Gi-hun’s sudden outburst, and ignoring how he was red-faced and panting, Sae-byeok gently scooted closer to him to examine the flash drive herself. She didn’t take it out of the bag and Gi-hun held the bag tightly in his hands, but she could still see it. “So, this is basically ancient technology? From the past?”
Gi-hun exhales. With an air of melancholy, he nods, realizing that Sae-byeok is right. While common place in the twenty-first century, a flash drive was dead tech here in the thirty-first century. Something you see in museums or history books or those weird documentaries on the tv channel that says they talk about history but actually talk about alien conspiracies. If there was by some miracle, a way for Gi-hun to plug the flash drive into a computer and figure out what was on it, he didn’t know of one. And judging by how clueless the old man and Sae-byeok were, Gi-hun reasoned his one final message from his daughter was going to stay a mystery to him. For now at least.
Sae-byeok let the bag (and Gi-hun’s hands) drop back down into his lap. “It’s cute.”
“… Cute?”
“Yeah, cute. It’s all tiny and plastic and stuff, but it can still hold files like you said.”
“Don’t call my tech cute.” Gi-hun crossed his arms with an angry pout.
actually the idea that Dick, the eldest, the only one who ever wore the cowl long term, the only one who raised a Robin on his own, is also the only one who can successfully, perfectly replicate that barked ROBIN! in Bruce's voice? the only one who can pull that exact tone from the depths of his soul, to the point where his voice is identical, so identical that old Robins like Jason are obeying before their minds even realize their bodies are moving? that Dick is the only one, has always been the only one, who can channel Bruce's voice? can channel Batman himself? I am going feral
the best death note joke format will forever be L asking light a simple question in which logical answer A might increase the likelihood of light being kira and logical answer B similarly might increase the likelihood of light being kira and after a short internal struggle light comes up with answer Y, which no human being has ever thought of as being a normal response in all of living history
The Inhuns' daughter came home from daycare and was scratching her head a lot. But it wasn't until 7 days later that Gi-hun saw the note (which had gotten lost in her backpack) saying there was a lice outbreak at daycare and that parents should check their children
The problem? Now they both have lice, too
Gihun and Inho were raising their adoptive daughter Saehee and she was the apple of their eyes! She was so cute and energetic and bubbly and she loved her fathers, her uncle Junho and her big sister Gayeong!
She really loved daycare too! She made so many new friends! Her parents were happy she liked daycare and that she always had a good time!
One day, Gihun noticed that their daughter was scratching her head a lot but he didn't pay too much attention. She had spilled a lot of glitter on her head a couple of days ago and Gihun was STILL finding glitter everywhere in the house!
Inho didn't pay too much attention to it either, thinking that their daughter still had some hidden glitter in her hair that was annoying her.
But a couple of days later, both Inho and Gihun's head started itching like crazy! At first, they thought that maybe it was the new detergent they bought that was causing some kind of reaction!
And then, while cleaning out their daughter's bag, Gihun saw it--a note from daycare saying that they had a lice problem and that they should check their daughter for lice.
Gihun starts SCREAMING bloody murder and runs to Inho, scratching at his scalp and telling him they all have lice and that Inho HAS to go to the store and buy them all lice killing shampoo and lice combs NOW.
They spend the next few hours brushing and washing their crying daughter's hair who doesn't understand what's going on and stripping every single bit of bedding of the beds and washing it. Inho calls Junho who comes with a rented carpet cleaner and wearing what looked like a hazmat suit.
Inho and Gihun had him clean ALL the carpet, the curtains and the matress. They didn't go to seelp after 3am in the morning.
They kept up the shampoo treatments, the brushing, and vacuums and sleeping with bonnets until finally, all three of them were lice free!
Inho and Gihun BOTH kind of wanted to pull their daughter from the daycare because OH MY GOD LICE?! But Saehee threw a fit and wouldn't stop crying so they kept in the daycare.
They just made sure to ask the caretakers if there is anything they should know and maybe they check their daughter's hair every day for a few months, just to be safe.
Two decades ago, it was very common here to use poison to kill lice. You’d put it on your head and wear a plastic bag. And it was SO HUMILIATING because everyone knew you had lice 😭😭
