ok i return one more time tk say that the microwave thing could very well be like.. one of many many other things.. either:

1. theres something genuinely messed up happening at the company and the employees have no real past. (as in.. theyre anything ranging from being created for the job to being clones of real ppl) in this case the microwave text could be a "glitch" in the system or something.

2. zeekerss is messing with us for fun ❤

3. the player character is being worn down by the job as well and this is an attempt at portraying how the job beats down on them mentally. putting the two names they learn something about from the logs in and on some unrelated text box cuz were just.. seeing things.

4. uhhhh .. sigurd survives the job and works at the microwave factory ? ? ? 😭 i dont know a man can dream theres a beautiful ending for him out there

to be fair i dont think its a bad thing to hc them as siblings... ive seen plenty of fanart like fics and drawings and i enjoy them but how do i say it... i imagine different designs than the two sets i draw them as? if that makes sense?

but its still concerning when thats like the main takeaway people have despite it being relatively obvious they arent siblings in the canon material... and then coming up to my very obvious ship art and saying im weird for it despite me being like the number 1 hater of THAT SORT OF THING...

In canon Sigurd seems to have that younger sibling vibe for sure but i think its way more interesting to me when it shows as him being scatterbrained and i guess more attached to his literal coworkers even if he doesnt know them or even like them??? as for his relationship with desmond i think he genuinely is just a little shit for the fun of it + definately vilifies him more and more due to wanting something tangible and accessible to be at fault for their shitty situation (and i think some mental illness also plays a part in... blaming desmond for stuff like rich going missing and just getting incredibly fed up with him past that in general..)

honestly now im just getting into my own interpretation of sigurds mental state so imma shut up before the paragraphs turn into a full essay haha.. thank u for taking the time to hear me out

sigurd is just a whole lotta cope wrapped up in a bow, he's just so loveable even though he's such a little shit, he writes like hes all tough but he's definitely a huge softie on the inside, e.e think all the talk about "doofus lucas" being a scaredy cat is projection on his part, he even complained about getting ship duty because he was turning gray with anxiety and suffering hallucinations after rich died, i genuinely think the amount of stress theyre all going through is what causes those problems,,, or would definitely trigger genetic predispositions to mental health problems (there's a term for it i learned in psychology but lololol my brain is mush and i forgot.)

Wait im assuming this is a headcanon that they're not siblings/related because now im confused 😧 is this a common headcanon in this fandom?

there is just about nothing to suggest they're siblings in canon, and more i would argue to suggest otherwise. for a quick rundown:

sigurd only mentions his brother once, at the beginning of his first log, and does not ever bring it up again. if they were brothers, it seems more likely he'd bring it up more frequently being forced to be around him 24/7 (or at least would contextualize desmond as "my brother")

in that first log, both people (desmond and his brother) are mentioned in this manner:

"I couldnt find a way to do the most basic thing on this old janky butt computer so I had Desmond add it in, the log feature. til now ive just been adding my own notes to the bestiary whatever i know. My brother said i should keep a journal so im doing what i can!"

mentioning them both seperately with completely isolated thoughts would make this make no sense if they were one in the same person.

desmond, in "letter of resignation", describes sigurd's father as "his father", not "our father", and also fails to ever mention their relationship as brotherly.

for something a bit more speculative, sigurd is entirely unsympathetic to someone who, if this were to be the case, is his brother. he speaks frequently about his disdain for desmond and on multiple occasions fantasizes about killing him. i just doubt this would not come with at least some recognition of their existing relationship, if there was one.

altogether, the idea that they are siblings is much more of a headcanon than the other way around. if i recall correctly, a large youtuber right around the time of lethal's boom in popularity said something about them being brothers, and it has since just been a very pervasive idea in the community.

Ive been obsessed with them since day one and it came to me as a surprise that people see them as brothers at all because? there is actually nothing to suggest theyre brothers in canon. Especially not the two separate sentences clearly talking about two separate people that people enjoy referring to. Please ALSO refer to how desmond, in fact, refers to sigurds father as "his dad" not "our dad" as well, as cookie said.

Thank you for the concern over the way i draw them tho. i love a chance to tell people that im not being weird and i appreciate not just being seen in bad light and faith.
