A cave dragon is a gigantic monster, once descended from the true dragons, now adapted to life in the Underdark. Its wings fall limp at its side. Its face is full of incredibly long teeth. Its eyes are large to penetrate the darkness. Its demeanour is savage, cruel and violent.

Although cave dragons have lost the ability to breathe fire, they are still ferocious creatures that will make mincemeat out of ordinary adventurers. Even drow elites give them a wide berth, killing them with traps where possible.

Monster: Hoardwraith (CR 16, Huge Undead Dragon)

When a dragon's greed is so strong and it refuses to let go of its gold even in death, its spirit seeps into the coins and gems until the entire treasure pile rises up as a single vengeful draconic entity. These undead dragons float through walls, remember the exact spot of every copper piece, and exhale a ghostly flame that drains the strength of anyone in the area. I just hope that one greedy rogue in the group doesn't pocket anything shiny from a hoardwraith's lair, or they will not be able to sleep as the whispers of this spectral dragon follow them across the planes until they bring it back.

I can totally see a hoardwraith turning a simple dragon lair raid into the kind of nightmarish session your party will still be talking about weeks later. —

I was driving on the highway and passed a dude absolutely JAMMING alone in his car, doing those little half dance moves you do when you’re stuck sitting down in a small space, bellowing unheard lyrics at the top of his lungs, and my instant reaction was to think “I love you.” And then to pray he had a good day, or whatever, because those fleeting moments of connection are so incredible.

The idea of Batman just injuring a rogue just enough that a young Robin can come pick him off like one of those lions on a nature doc, is so funny to me. Like Bats knows that his apprentice needs a confidence boost and to hone their skills but he's not about yo put the little bird in danger so Batman will take down a rogue, injure them enough that they will put up a fight but Robin won't be in too much danger and can "take the guy down". I'm just imagining Batman taking down somebody like Killer Croc who is like "Bats? Where are you going? Aren't you taking me to Arkham?" for Batman to reply that he will in due time but Robin needs to practise. And Waylon just accepts this because he's also a father and he tells Bats that he's "doing a good job" with Robin. Bats grapples himself out of there, waiting in the shadows while Robin swoops in and takes down Killer Croc.

And of course, some Gothamite records this and it gets memed to hell. They even get somebody to imitate Sir David Attenborough to narrate the scene.

Fake Attenborough: And here we have the more colourful offspring of the Bat, closing in on their prey. With lightning quick skill, the Robin has attacked. The Croc has no chance. The Bat looks on as its young takes down the struggling Croc.

Batman *jumping into the alley*: Good work, Robin

Fake Attenborough: A proud father Bat will now drag away their catch where the GCPD will pick over the scraps like the scavengers they are.

💎 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺! Yaga Stones
Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement) ___ “Yaga stones” come in pairs and are given to followers of especially vicious hags. They’re also not made of stone: one is made of iron, and the other is made of bone. You can attune to one or both of the stones; regardless, they only count as a single item for the purpose of the number of items you can attune to. Each stone has 2 charges, and it regains all expended charges daily at dusk. While attuned to a stone, you can use an action to expend 1 of the stone’s charges to summon a flaming, ethereal skull, which appears over your shoulder and floats there. If you’re attuned to both stones, you can expend 2 charges (from either stone) to summon a skull from both of them. The skull is made of iron (Toil) if it’s summoned by the iron “Yaga stone,” or bone (Trouble) if it’s summoned by the bone one. While a skull remains, you can use a bonus action to have it fly out and bite a creature within 20 feet of you; both skulls fly out simultaneously if each one is summoned. Make a ranged spell attack roll, using an attack bonus of +7. On a hit, the target takes 2d6 fire damage and is affected by either the “hex” or “bane” spell (no concentration required). A creature is affected by “hex” (Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution checks only) if it’s hit by Toil, or “bane” if it’s hit by Trouble If both skulls bite the target, the attack roll is made with advantage, and on a hit, it’s affected by both spells. Only one target can be affected by “hex” or “bane” in this way at a time; a spell ends when its corresponding skull disappears.
