Hey, so after talking with @dn-hc a bit, it sounds like a few people in the fandom might be getting hacked. We both received scam dms from different dn mutuals. Not just random bots, but blogs who we’ve been mutual with for a while and who are pretty active in the fandom. A third person said they had also received this type of message.

The dms start with a simple "hey" or "got a minute" and when you respond, they respond saying they 'accidentally reported your account' and include a scary-looking email they supposedly received from 'tumblr support' after trying to 'fix their mistake.' The email says that although they appreciate the person's effort to correct their error, your account has received multiple scam reports and is going to be terminated unless you reach out to 'tumblr live support on discord within the next 24 hours'. This is absolutely a scam and indicates that the accounts that sent these dms were hacked.

Don't panic, but also please practice some cautious awareness when DM'ing moots. I think as long as you don't click any suspicious links, go the discord listed, or give away any personal info, you should be okay. If you have any questions for tumblr support, do not go to any web addresses the dm gives you and instead contact tumblr support yourself through the proper channels.

I will never try to send you links to secondary websites for tumblr support and I would believe most mutuals would say the same. Just be a bit careful and rely on your internet safety, okay? This is just a general awareness post.
