Heya hiya howdy!

IMPORTANT

Hi! I know this blog has been dead for a while but I have something SUPER important to share. I haven’t been as open about this in the last few years, but my brother and I are trans and come from a very unsupportive family. After many years of fighting just to survive in our parents’ house, we finally moved out about a year and a half ago! Yay!!

Now for the important part.

My brother is needing to get top surgery, and we have it planned for late winter of 2025. Our household consists of 4 people, two of which are disabled and unable to work. The two that do are barely making enough for groceries, rent, utilities, etc. Top surgery is EXPENSIVE. To help, we’ve made a gofundme!

I try not to ask for help often, but PLEASE, even if you can’t donate, please share and spread this. We live in a red state and there’s not much support we can get irl, so any help we can get would be appreciated and necessary.

i love how well Beyond Light expresses loneliness. YW has to deal with a lot of internal conflict almost entirely by themselves. the Darkness has reached out before, but now it's in their head, now it talks very directly, but more than that - it gives gifts. this is a lot to deal with.

they don't really tell the Vanguard. very few people know, the only ones YW can lean on. they have arguments with their Ghost who is rightfully scared. scared. of you and for you.

and then the setting, the vast empty expanse of ice and snow. and the pyramid covering half the sky. so ominous. even the soundtrack sounds cold. the fury of snowstorms that every now and then quite physically sweep you off your feet.

and then if you are an Exo, you get hit on the head with massive revelations of your origins. your entire self.

AND THEN if you do the raid, you get to do the infamous spacewalk. and you may be in the fireteam, but the sense of loneliness and the magnitude of the world is staggering. the gentle lullaby playing, hushed a little, while you get to stare at the cosmic scale around you. listening to a man whose ego propelled science and hurt so many people.

but it's just you, the lullaby and the stars.

whatever Beyond Light had, it was unforgettable.
