here’s something that’s been on my mind, cause i’m rewatching ST4.
we have all these theories and questions for the final season, like could eddie become kas, is will going to die to complete a full circle story, bla bla bla.
BUT. i have one.
who created D&D ?
(at least in the series)
because every season, when there’s a new creature and everything, the characters correlate it with the game’s creatures, their powers, etc…
also in episode 1 of season 4, when the club and erica play the end of eddie’s campaign, dustin’s shot is of 11 critic points, which is not enough to kill vecna. and at the end of season 4, el fails to help max, and therefore to gather to vecna and kill him. kind of a foreshadow.
PLUS, we saw that the upside down is stuck in the past, the date that will disappeared and the first gate opened. november 6th 1983.
SO, how does a game that was created in 1974, which is approx the year the main characters were born (i guess), correlates so much with something that happens 10 years after its creation ?
what if (crazy idea please bear with me i’m currently running a hot fever) one of the 4 boys (most likely will) somehow created the game, had it come out in 1974, around the year the boys where born so that they would kind of bathe in this universe, and made sure they started playing so that they could help el and save hawkins and the world and whatever when these things happen ? since we also know that time travel is kind of happening in the series (because the upside down is stuck in 1983 through space but not time : the gates don’t all lead to 1983 hawkins, and the gang can hear dustin, lucas and erica when they are being questioned by the police in season 4 episode 7)
that’s an ending that i would really love, seing will or someone creating the game (maybe while in the upside down, as a sort of bestiaire / guide on how to end the upside down), and then getting back to the first scene, where the boys play the game in 1983 in mike’s basement. or when they first acquire the game. that would also make a full circle moment.
also, will is pretty obsessed with d&d : in season 3, he lashes out when his friends don’t want to play and in season 4, at some point he’s talking with mike and goes like ‘then we can go back to playing d&d’.

the first part focuses on the preparation and creation of the production & set and the preparation the actors underwent, which is quite impressive and astonishing.
the second part is more close to tom cruise and his own stunts and place in the movie, and it’s just as crazy.
watching this personally made me even more in awe and admiration for the cast and crew, the extent and the stakes of this movie and how it was made is genuinely astonishing. i have the absolute mad and highest respect for the actors. the dedication, effort and performance.
makes this movie even more enjoyable to watch, and it definitely changes my view in it !!!
