Having a little bit of a fascinating existential crisis after finding out solar panels are more efficient in the cold, leading me to become curious, look up the temperature failure point of solar panels, compared it with the temperature failure point of humans (totally on a list for that btws, sorgy government I prommie I was curious and not melting someone in my backyard), discovering that actually solar panels would outlast us even if climate change kills us, and then going on a spiral of talking to my cats about how even if we completely obliterated all life on the planet, given our sun will still be around for another 5 billion years, it's very possible that life will restart from the microscopic stage, re-evolve into a different sentient species, and that species, God-permitted over the years they're covered by sediment (but likely overgrown by nature before then), will discover plant fossils over dilapidated fossilized solar panels from *us*.

Now that I think about it, is the Swarm technically a very strange form of age regression?

Like, Snatchers steal an adult human, place them in a pod in a hive. That human is disintegrated in said pod, the rest is put together as a juv(en)i(l)e swarm drone, which then matures into an imago, until the skin hardens and they're a full grown swarm drone.

It's short lived and temporary, but, technically...? You're going from an adult of one species to a child of another (kinda? They're related but like I don't wanna get into that nuance rn, I'm shitposting) species. And since they genuinely 'grow up', it's not even like 'child-like' or anything, that's just genuinely a child-state?

Y'know I don't ever really think about it that much, but how fucking cool and impressive is it that we as a species can just do like, mechanical repairs on our own bodies? "You need a new engine" for a car, "you need a new heart" for your body, and we have the knowledge to just do that??? Like, make the blood properly flow to it and everything? And usually our biggest concern afaik is just the body "not vibing" with it for reasons we can generally feel out ahead of time as well, because we can actually look for a specific organ that's compatible? And we just kinda accept that as life, that we as a species have the knowledge to do that. In fact, while I'm here, let me also throw in the prosthetics we can make, like in general as well but especially ones that can actually be controlled similarly to the actual limb. Fancy metal peg leg is cool, but fully functional artificial hand that can flex and move individual fingers and shit is some hella cool stuff, and I feel like we globally forget about these things sometimes.
