She’d gone and got herself a new look - a fresh cut which seemed all the more needed after the way these past few weeks have been, “I like it though - do you think it’s too much though? I’m literally not even going to be able to tie this up for a couple of months which is just… The weirdest concept to me.”

It didn’t seem like she’d yet gauged his lack of interest in how she’d cut her hair no matter how long he remained completely silent on the matter. A dark brow rose high on his forehead as he looked her hair over with apprehension before he objected with a slight shake of his head. “It’s just hair, Frankie.”

“Really? Come on,” Harper spoke as she pushed herself up into a half-seated position. Tilting her head a little to the side, she laughed and pressed her teeth against the bottom lip. “You and I both know that Sixteen Candles is the best movie from the eighties. It was a coming of age movie. It changed a lot when it came out,” Harper said and shook her head in disbelief as she let herself fall back down on the couch, her legs resting against the top of the frame of the two-seater. “Since you watched it with me, I did promise you that I’ll watch your favorite movie with you, so… Which one is it?” 

“I’m not even going to tell you how many times I thought about putting a bullet through that screen over the last ninety minutes.” He grumbled aimlessly, having not truly paid much mind to the movie at all, but still, he hadn’t been all that happy about sitting around for that long doing nothing. “I don’t have a favorite.” He shrugged a little too easily, he’d never really found the time to watch them, that and he could never keep still for long enough.

Of course he couldn’t be left alone in a town so riddled with curiosity that they’d all forgone the idea that some things are better left alone. The rogue wolf crumpled against the gravel beneath him barely whimpered as the woman’s voice broke the air, little more than a dangerous glare shot down to him in warning to shut up. “Doing just fine, I’d be better if you kept going.” A rough suggestion if anything.

A speck of blood was wiped from the corner of her mouth after winning an easy fight at the SFC. She had taken quite the beating but everything would heal in a matter of seconds as opposed to her opponent who was still passed out. Noticing someone in the mirror, the woman looked up at their reflection, “Did you enjoy the show?” She quipped.

One of the few nights he hadn’t any intention of throwing himself into the ring, Zeke’s usual mindset of the preferable quick kill as opposed to something that merely ended in a knockout didn’t pike his interested tonight, instead focusing on a business deal that’d play out at the end of the next fight. He’d barely noticed her, though he knew very well who she was by now. “Didn’t watch it, though if he did that to you, I’m pissed that I missed it.”

Having been on his way to check on his bar, Sawyer’d come across Zeke just outside his own, likely assessing the damage. “Tough fuckin’ break. Whole town looks like it went through demolition day.”

“Some fucking fish people.” He repeated slowly, somewhere between shocked and fucking pissed to hell about it. Like the place didn’t need any more fucking crazy in between everything else. Fish people. It sounded ridiculous enough. “Don’t care too much about the rest of the town, your place wrecked too?”

Or should I say hear that since you’re a fan of breaking my shit.” Hues rolled playfully at the little spiel which indicated his good mood, a quick retort bubbling up her throat only to be silenced as her eyes lingered a beat too long at the removal of clothing. “You are without a doubt the most—” It died on her tongue when he returned to the kitchen, the petite traveler immediately pivoting away to face the stove. “There’s fresh shirts on the dryer. Try to be civilized, won’t you?”

“So kick up that witchy woo bullshit and fix it.” he shrugged almost nonchalantly and with little care for whatever mark he’d left on the solid wood door behind him. “Technically, I’m helping .---- gotta give you something productive to do with that power of yours.” A backhanded compliment at best, his distaste for one of the only reasons he kept her around wasn’t some secret, and nor did he even try to hide it. “The most what? Charming? Handsome? Chiseled? No point getting all shy now.” He hadn’t missed it -- he very rarely ever did, the linger of doe like hues that skirted their way across his chest. “You’re bordering house wife, don’t tell me you quit your job at that cesspool and decided catering to me and my laundry needs were more important.” Pulling the fridge open only to close it a moment later, he laughed roughly. “Civilized, she says.”

“Unless you like the idea of losing a leg, I’d stop if I were you.” He stated almost too leisurely, the hunter casting an incredulous look to the other before he moved around them, crouching only long enough to uncover a rusted over animal trap -- not one of his own.

Seemingly everything ached, a usual sign that the hunt had been worth it in his eyes, though that didn’t much take away from the sting of each and every tear in his flesh. “How was your day? Of course you caught something --- parasites attract other parasites, it was only  matter of time.” He stated, a closed fist throw out against the others ribs as he came closer, “Come near me with that fucking worm and I’ll set it on fire. --- When was the last time you ever heard me sing?” His deadpanned glare turned to an eye roll quickly, “I could have done without you coming back you know? Where’d you end up anyway?” They’d lost contact some weeks back; nothing too alarming since the prick was now here with him.
