Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 ➩
Relationship : Caine x Female!Reader
Plot : What if, during Caine's massive crashout, a new human joined the circus ?
Cw : Slight yandere!Caine, human!Reader, swearing, physical violence, God complex!Caine.
Author's note : Prepare yourselves. (I mean it) kind of a long chapter, woo !
There was a part of you that felt guilty. You were about to spill everything you had learned from them. But if that could help your friends in any way ? Then you'd put up with Caine's intense glare.
Sure you may not have all the pieces to the puzzle. Hell, if you didn't know about their suffering, you'd definitely let yourself fall for Caine. And in some way, you already were falling for him. It was terrifying to be aware of it, you'd rather take these feelings out of your brain by hand.
So to forget it all, you talk.
And you don't stop talking. Because if you do, If you take a moment, if your brain has enough time to think, you're going to freak out.
You had taken the hint, with this whole 'digital' thing, that despite the fact that you were fully conscious and aware, none of this was truly real. None, of the physical damage you or the others endured, was real. There was no blood, no cuts, and god, there was no swearing !
So why, why did Caine do that ? Why did Jax look so afraid at the end ? Why did you get the feeling of danger going through your body when he looked at you in a way you've never seen coming from him ?
But instead of freaking out, you babbled endlessly until the muscles of your jaw and your vocal cords gave out. You poorly tried to defend your friends, to explain all the things that pained them, that hurt them, mentally at least. That, you were sure, was real.
Caine, of course, doesn't listen to a thing you say. Every word that leaves your mouth —and god Caine knows that you had forbidden the silence from taking over the room— every word that comes out of your mouth goes everywhere but in his 'ears'. That may be because he doesn't have any, but he knows it's not the reason.
He makes you believe that he does listen, nodding at the end of every sentences. At some point, though, he stops doing that. You don't notice, because you're entirely focused on making the words you say follow the last one in a logical path.
It felt like a really long moment. Like an exam that just won't end. And when you finally stop, taking a deep breath, you realize how pressuring the silence felt.
"So, uh...Could you please, at least consider giving them a break ? Or like I said, you could talk it out, maybe."
You had finally finished talking. Your hands were sweaty, your back was fully pressed against your chair, and your eyes had kept going back and forth between Caine and the wooden desk. A small silence set and you believed, tried to believe that Caine was considering everything you said.
Unfortunately for you, his response was a brutal shatter of this belief. Slowly, he put his hands back down flat against the desk, and leaned back against his own seat. "My dear," he began, his eyes not leaving you even for a second. "Did you know that your neck slowly gets redder and redder when you're nervous."
...
Oh.
"W-What" for a brief moment, you can barely register his words. Was he serious ? You don't even know how to react properly, as your cheeks get redder than your neck. "Did you...listen to me at all ?"
He stares at you, his eyes partially hidden by his teeth but still slightly visible, forming that more serious expression that you never thought would make you feel uneasy. "Angel, let me explain something to you in the simplest way possible."
Caine pushed his chair away from the desk, stood up and walked around it, until he stood behind you. An action so simple that slightly crept you out when it was him.
"Humans are...Like plants. You give them everything they need, expecting them to bloom and you can praise yourself for how talented you are at taking care of them."
You can feel him getting closer to you. One of his hands hovers near your hair, making you shiver when he lets his fingers run through your strands.
"But the truth is that they only get more and more greedy, more complicated to take care of, more challenging."
You can't see it, and maybe it's for the best, but his eyes trailed down to your neck, as his other hand gripped your chair in a way that made it clear that it was either this, or your poor throat.
"And eventually, after sacrificing all of your energy on them without any positive results..."
He finally lets go of your hair, only to gently place his gloved fingers under your chin. Slowly lifting it, your eyes could finally meet his.
"You let them die on their own."
His eyes were focused, his voice serious. Your breath hitched as you felt your heart hitting your ribcage. But you weren't sure if it was due to the horrifying confession he just did regarding your friends, or if it was due to your proximity.
"C...Caine ?"
"Yes, darling ?"
Your lips stayed parted as you struggled to find your words.
"Could you...Let me go ?"
This almost surprised him. You could see his upper gums slightly going up.
He was going to ask if he made you uncomfortable, but a voice interrupted the moment.
"You heard her, ffffffrickhead !"
Caine suddenly let go of your chin, and you straightened to look in front of you.
There floating above Caine's chair, was none other than Bubble. Before you could ask who this was or how they got here, Caine grabbed his cane and threw it at Bubble, making them disappear with a 'Pop' sound.
His chest rose up and down in clear frustration, and he straightened his bowtie.
"Apologies dear, this won't happen again." He said, but it was far from over.
"How can YOU hang out with this BORING loser !" Bubble appeared again, this time right next to you, making you jump.
"Uh...What-"
Again, without getting any answers, Caine threw his cane at them.
You watched, as this went on over and over again. Slowly, you began to realize that the more Caine was getting angry, the quicker Bubble came back, and with sharper words aimed only at Caine.
"You're gonna fail them too !" 'Pop !'
"You'll be all alone after this one abstracts" 'Pop !'
"They'd all be perfectly fine if you weren't there at all !" 'Pop !'
"She already hates y-"
'Smash !'
A loud bang sound was heard. It was your chair, collapsing to the ground with you in it.
Bubble had taken cover right behind you, and Caine, in his fury, didn't even see you.
He had hit you in the face with his cane.
You fell to the ground, head hitting the floor, hard. Despite it hurting like hell, it's not like you could die or bleed from it. Let alone have a concussion.
"See ? You just end up hurting everyone that comes here, and she's never gonna forgive you for this !"
You looked up, sight blurry for a second, before focusing on Caine. He looked petrified. Horrified even.
"Caine..." You mumbled, lifting a hand. You weren't even asking for help, you were just trying to say that Bubble was wrong. But before you could say anything else, your surroundings changed.
Suddenly you weren't on the hard floor anymore. You were on your bed, all alone.
It took you several moments to realize that, and to have the courage to get up again. And when you did, you rushed to the door, determined to go back there.
The only problem is that not only you're locked up in your room, but there is no more door ! Just a wall.
"Ugh, shit, shit !"
You cussed in frustration, hands against the wall. Eyes closed, you suddenly realized...The words actually came through. You could swear now !
Somewhere in the circus, Zooble was celebrating.
But somewhere else, a particularly glitchy AI was not in the mood for celebrations.
With you gone, Caine had stopped breathing completely. It was something he had picked up from being around humans. He thought, you know, what if he appeared more relatable to them ?
But when no one was around...The silence in his office was icy cold as he stood still. His programming processing. Somewhere in the macroverse, a singular unit of a datacenter was overheating.
He started with a simple question. How could he fix this ?
With the others it was simple. An accident ? Oh no worries, just get over it ! Why don't I throw you into an adventure until you forget !
But with you ? He had to be carful. Every action, every word could make your opinion of him shift in a direction he didn't like.
That's what he precisely hates about you. You're human. He wished he could just...Extract every aspect of you that reassembled them. Make you perfect.
But you were already perfect, weren't you ? You're you ! Without flaws, without humanity, you wouldn't be yourself anymore.
And as much as it infuriated him, Caine knew he had to put up with it. And so, he was careful.
Very careful. The others hadn't seen him, or you, in a while. They had looked for you, but when Jax opened your door with a spare key, the door just noclipped into the wall. Disappearing completely.
As for you, days weren't so bad. Caine had (without directly interacting with you. He couldn't face you yet.) Granted you so many things. A window that displayed sunlight and moonlight, switching at a reasonable pace.
The books that only displayed blank pages in your bookshelves were now Ai slop about anything and everything that would keep you occupied.
And from time to time, a variety of different dishes would appear for you to taste, with a panel of different faces to rate the food.
As much as you hated every second of this captivity, you couldn't help but understand. You remember the way he looked at you, with absolute shock. Maybe he just needed time.
And time he did need. Caine hadn't moved an inch all this time, as he crafted an adventure tailored specifically for you.
Sitting at his desk and using a pen and paper to draw and write was another thing he did to feel closer to humans. He could just stand perfectly still as his artificial mind coded nonstop.
And sure enough, when it was ready, you didn't get a warning. You were sleeping, and suddenly woken up by the sensation of being warped away.
Your hands gripped the sheets as a way of making sure you were still conscious. Maybe it was the lack of interactions with people, the isolation.
But it took you a very long moment to realize that you were sitting in your bed. Yours, as in the one of your actual home.
You breathed frantically, almost panting, as you ran through every room. It was over ! Finally over ! You're home !
Your feet took you to the first room you had checked, your bedroom. With your desk and PC. It was still on, displayed a pixelated and old looking circus tent, with the game's logo on it.
Your breath hitched as your eyes caught the VR headset next to it. Panic ran through you in a shiver as you grabbed it and threw it across the room.
The circus. Your friends. Caine.
All gone. Away from you. You'd never see them again.
But why do you feel sad ? Why does your heart aches when you realize you'll never see him again ?
Suddenly you hear footsteps behind you.
"I...Did not expect you to have such a strong reaction, my dear."
Your eyes widened. That voice.
Contrary to what your mind begged you to do, your body moved on its own. You turned around, and found yourself face to face with Caine.
"H...How...How did you..."
Caine took slow steps towards you, and the more he got closer, the more you asked yourself if you weren't going crazy.
"I apologize if this is too much for you. I wanted to...Apologize. And I thought that you'd feel more comfortable in a setting that you're familiar with."
Your eyes looked down, as your lips parted and you frowned.
So this. All of this. Is just...
"This...This is fake." You simply say, more to yourself rather than to him.
In that moment, Caine realized that he may have overstepped. He recognized your expression as the one they gave him for his adventure with Abel. And as much as it didn't bother him for them...For you, on the other hand...
But Caine didn't get the change to even think about his own feelings as he got pushed.
You had suddenly wrapped your arms around him.
As much as it gave you an immense relief to think that you could finally rest, forget about everything and get back to your life...
You already missed him. Missed the circus. Like it was your oxygen. Worse, you realized that if you had the chance to get back outside, you wouldn't last long before slamming the headset back on your head.
Caine froze for a solid minute. You weren't going to pull away anytime soon. He could feel your warmth. Something he didn't know he could crave.
One of his hands gently caressed your back, as the other one got lost in your hair again.
Maybe he couldn't understand why you didn't hate him. But if Caine had to guess, it was probably because you were unpredictable. Human.
He hates your brain as much as he loves your warmth.
"I'm sorry, Angel..." He whispered.
Tears rolled down your face as you pleaded. "Don't leave me."
"Never again, my precious girl."

I have this like, major problem with Yandere simulator (NOT HATING) (I've got like 100+ hours on it) I've been meaning to speak about it for a WHILE now.
Please read and tell me if I'm saying anything incorrect. Just making this post for shits and giggles cuz it bugged me out, don't come at me ╥﹏╥
(You could call it a rant post idk) (I do NOT support Yandev.)
•❅──────✧❅✦❅✧──────❅•
First I'll talk a little about Akademi, and then my real problem with the game.
So you know how everyone in the game is supposed to be 18+, right ? It's one of the first things we get when we launch the game.
Akademi has this lore of being a perfect replica of a typical Japanese high school made for the daughter of the founder. (80s mode, the newspaper club said that in the first week I think.) But it's not a high school, it was made pretty clear.
And that's the problem. I feel like it's always a little blurry, what Akademi actually is.
Not exactly a college, because the classes seem to mimic the typical middle/high school system.
And so I came to this conclusion ; Kocho, in his tapes (don't remember which one) says that Akademi has this other purpose, for Saikou to recruit sudents once they graduate. It's also a pretty high level school. So, maybe it's just an 'in between'. Maybe it's just something for young adults who don't really want to do long studies/don't know what they want to do later/want to work for Saikou. It can be a pretty good alternative to college for some. I mean when you look at some students, it's clear that they have other aspirations.
For example, Asu rito. She could be attending Akademi because she wants to be able to get a diploma or whatever you get when you graduate from Akademi (I'm not sure what it could be), WHILE still being able to focus on her training as an athlete.
ORR Amai. The girl already has a family business that she's really into, so maybe she just wants to get a little more education before working full time ?
Kizana, idrk. And that's what's throwing me off a little. Because ; It FEELS to me that some students are forced to be here. They don't really have any purpose in a school that doesn't provide specialized studies according to their interests. It feels like they're just attending a normal high school because they're 'supposed to'.
I really, really don't want to see Akademi as a high school. The concept in itself, of a replica, is original. But I do feel like Yandev is pulling it in a way that feels and looks like it IS actually a high school, while having the "Oh but they're actually 18 so whatever happens is okay" card. (I'm mainly talking about the panty shots. And I am GRATEFUL that he gave us plenty other ways to get info-points. At least he did one good thing even though he didn't take the panty shots mechanic out.)
Do you see what I mean ? Sorry if it's too messy, I've got ideas ALL over the place.
But that's absolutely not the problem I wanted to talk about (Yes I get off tracks a lot.) I just wanted to establish what type of school Akademi could be in the first place.
Now, my main problem with the game ; First years are 18. Second years are 18. Third years are 18.
See a problem here ?
I tried everything. I tried having a 'missing' poster for each three, and everytime, students have the exact same age. I think it's actually the only way of knowing their ages. It doesn't seem to appear anywhere else. Maybe it's a 'default' age that appears on the posters ?
You may think it's not important, but it is frustrating. (At least I think)
I mean it's pure logic. If Yandev says that students are 18+, AND considering the type of school, if first years are indeed 18, then shouldn't a second year be 19, and a third year at least 19 or 20 ?
When I think about Hanako being in the game, it doesn't make sense. Why would Taro be 18 AND a third year if his little sister is 18 ? (Just assuming she's 18, I mean, she's a rival, so. By the way WHY is she even a rival in the first place ?)
AND, if Yandev truly wants to pursue the Mida Rana trope, then would Taro being 20 make it a little less...creepy ? Even though it is already creepy enough. And I do appreciate modders removing Mida as a rival. The 10 weeks by Mae-Kun is one of them (I can make a post about mods I've played or this one if anyone's interested)
Bear with me here ; Yandev has worked on the tiniest details (I'm talking Easter eggs and hundreds of hairstyles era) throughout the years without AT LEAST giving us some logic.
In the end, Yandere simulator has this 'cliche' game (idk how to explain it, like a 'joke' game, that works on every stereotype of anime. Like the Tsundere/Yandere, Bullies, delinquents, the references ect...) vibe, so I get that details like that don't seem important.
BUT I just needed to get this out of my mind. Thanks a LOT for reading, took me a while to get my ideas somewhat in order.
What do you think about this issue guys ? Do you think it's even worth discussing ? Genuinely curious.
Oh no, they put my boy in a lolita JSK
(HOURS. HOURS OF PAIN.)
Please check out the little details below ˃͈◡˂͈)
(MB it's not the best quality)
Details and zoom ins
The founding fathers ;

The abstracted, chilling. Doing a staring contest with Jax for some reason.
And our favorite Pomni Ribbit
(They somehow look so similar what)
I thought about coloring Kinger and Scratch but nah
Also don't ask me why Queenie got the crossed out treatment, those Yandere Caine x Kinger comics on here have been really getting to me.

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 ➤
Relationship : Caine x Female!Reader
Plot : What if, during Caine's massive crashout, a new human joined the circus ?
Cw : Slight yandere!Caine, human!Reader, swearing, physical violence.
Author's note : Unlike Caine I have risen from the dead to give you this.
You spent a long time just waking up and falling right back asleep a bunch of times, before eventually deciding it was enough.
This world still feels terrifyingly real and you're scared to imagine what your body looks like out there. Is it just lying there in your apartment ? Are you technically dead, or did your body straight up evaporated ?
You stepped out of your room, moving around the circus on your own for the first time. You could see so many faces on the other doors, faces that were sometimes crossed out. You didn't want to imagine what happened to them, you didn't want to imagine a possible death in this reality too.
Eventually you found the others, in one of the common areas, exactly where you and Caine were sitting earlier. Or was it yesterday already ?
"Oh, you're here !" Said Ragatha as she saw you. The others quickly looked in your direction. "It's been a while, 'Angel'. " Jax teased you as you sat next to Pomni on one of the sofas.
"I couldn't tell...if it was night, or day, you know ? How do you do it ?" You ask. Zooble shrugged. "Don't know. We just go to bed when we're tired."
Speaking of which, you suddenly remember the whole thing with Zooble. "Hold on, are you like, okay ? You disappeared in the middle of your sentence."
"Huh ? Oh, yeah. Caine sent me to his office and threw axes in my face." Again, you didn't know if they were joking or not.
You could tell, with the way everyone not so discreetly eyed you, that your appearance disturbed them. "About that...Um.." You pointed at yourself. "You said Caine and the circus were kind of glitching when I joined, do you think it could be why ?"
"You know..." Pomni began. "The game gives you a random avatar, and mine was still generating while I was putting the headset on, what did it say for you ?"
"Now that I think about it, there weren't any words on the screen. The only thing it said was to enjoy my experience and stuff." You said, trying to remember as much as possible. The memories were beginning to blurr, and you did not like that at all.
Suddenly, Caine appeared. Everyone seemed tense. "Caine, we are not doing this aga-" But before Zooble could AGAIN, finish their sentence, Caine put a zipper on their uh...where the voice comes out.
"Ah-Ah, we'll have none of that, Zooble." He said, before putting his hands on his hips. "Today's adventure...Is ready to be introduced on the stage !"
"Great, we're back to that. I swear if we do the theme song again-" Caine seemed to enjoy interrupting your new friends, given that Jax disappeared the second after, and after another snap of his fingers, Caine teleported everyone in front of the stage. Except for you, as you were still sitting down. He approached you, and took your hand in one of his. "My cherry flower, let me take you to the stage." You couldn't really say no, his arms already extend enough to slip under your body, and lift you up in his arms.
And it's not like you could say anything at all, because for one you were flustered by the nickname, and the way he changed his behavior with you still left you puzzled.
In no time he put you down right next to your peers, before going up on the state.
"Don't worry, we're not gonna let you go through all the stuff Caine has planned for us." Pomni reassured you, gaining a nod from Zooble.
"Today's adventure is..." Caine teased, as a drum roll played in the background.
"...Gather the bunnies ! A totally not recycled adventure set in a maze where you will have to catch all 10 bunnies and gather them in the center of the maze !"
There was a loud silence, until Jax raised his finger.
"Wha-"
"THERE'S NO TIME TO WASTE ! THE BUNNIES ARE RUNNING EVERYWHERE !"
A portal suddenly appeared and Caine pushed everyone inside, before looking at you. "Not to worry my dear, I've made sure you don't have a hard time catching them. Here's a special radar that will help you navigate inside the maze." He said, strapping a watch to your wrist, before taking your hand and leading you inside the portal."
You're given no time to process everything, the portal is already closed. You stand in a garden, full of flowers and the entry to the maze in front of you. The others stood in front of it as well, with puzzled expressions.
"There has to be a catch. This can't be it." Zooble said, crossing their arms.
"Do you think the bunnies are gonna attack us ?" Gangle asked, looking as worried as ever.
"I hope they specifically go after you." Said Jax as he pointed at her.
"I think we should be in teams for this." Pomni suggested, and for an awkward moment you stay there as everyone gets with their usual partner. Zooble and Gangle, Ragatha and kinger, and Jax and Pomni. "Oh right, we're an odd number now, shoot. Uh, Angel why don't you come with us !" Ragatha extended her hand to you, and you got with her and Kinger.
As the three of you make your way inside the maze, taking a different direction from the others, you can't help but point out what's been bugging you for a moment. "So um...These are the adventures you were talking about, right ? They don't look that bad."
Ragatha sighed. "This one isn't like the others. Do you remember when we told you about that 'shift' in Caine's behavior ? They became...intense. This one actually seems...normal."
"Isn't this Angel's first adventure ?" Kinger asked, in a rare moment of clarity. "Oh ! That's why ! Oh well then, I'm even more glad you joined us now, even if it seemed like a really bad moment..." Ragatha smiled at you. "I can't say we didn't need this."
For once, you find yourself smiling. Your team walked a few more minutes, before finding two bunnies, peacefully sitting on the grass. Ragatha reached out, trying to gently take one in her hands, but they both ran away.
You decided to go after one of them, and it led you away from the group. Safe to say you did not catch it. But you did find Gangle and Zooble, with one bunny in Zooble's hands. It must've tried to nibble Gangle's ribbons.
"Hey, any luck ?" Zooble asked, and you shook your head. "They ran away from us and we got seperated. Can I stay with you guys ?"
Of course, they said yes, and so the three of you tried to make your way to the center. "Is there like, a limit of time, or does it end when we gathered all of them ?" You ask, curious as to how adventures worked. And also, if there was even a hint of the existence of time in this world.
"There's no way to know how long it takes. But at least, it's outdoors, there's no Caine..." Zooble said, especially glad about that last part.
At some point you're lost. And remembering that you have something wrapped around your wrist, you decide to give it a try.
"Hold on, let me see if I can find the center..." You put your wrist to your face, looking closely at the device Caine gave you. "Wait, what is that ? Did you find this on the ground ?"
"Oh no, Caine gave it to me. He said it would be easier to find them."
One of Zooble's eyes twitched. "What."
"I think it's because it's her first adventure. Maybe that's why everything is so...Peaceful." Gangle suggested.
"I guess. That's actually been a nice break. Maybe we can exploit the system."
"How so ?" You say, looking up.
"Think. If Caine is sooo fond of you, he won't be able to deny your request if you ask for more adventures like this one."
As much as you'd hate to compromise your nice little relationship with the ringmaster, you understood that your friends need this.
After agreeing to this, you finally find the right path, and sure enough, you found everyone already there, and only one bunny missing ; the one Zooble held.
Once they put it down, the dark circle that formed the plaza lit up, and a bright trail began to form, indicating the way out of the maze. The portal must be back, but you don't rush. Zooble takes their time explaining their plan to the others, and while Ragatha isn't too fond of it, she couldn't deny the break it would give them.
As soon as you step out of the portal, walking on the circus ground again, Caine was right there to greet you, specifically you. "Ah, my precious sunbeam, did you have fun ?" He asked, and you could feel the pressuring wait in his eyes, and the way his fingers tapped against his cane.
"Y-Yeah, it was fun ! Thank you, for uh...Making it ?" You're still not sure of what he does, or how this world even works.
There's a pause in which Caine's pupils seemed to have grown bigger, and then, he let out a slow exhale. "Good, good. I'm glad you liked it. How about...I take you to the drawing board and you get to take a look at the upcoming adventures."
That wasn't really a question, or a suggestion. He was going to take you to his office, no matter your answer.
And lucky you, you see an opportunity to put your plan in action. You nod, and he immediately teleported you to his office. It was big, and surprisingly enough, it reminded you of inside out. The shelves against each wall held colorful balls, each containing moving images. One caught your eye, one with a snowy scenery. Could it even rain, or snow ? Maybe it was just another adventure.
Caine watched you look around the different adventures he kept. These were the successful ones. The ones that contained laughter, friendship, positive emotions that showed him the results he wanted for the next ones. Unfortunately, it didn't always work. Humans are unpredictable, and he came to hate each one of the six insufferable-
Oh but you were seven now. You were here now. And because you had befriended them, he had to tolerate them again. Give them what they want again.
Suddenly, he called out your name. The name he gave you. He gestured for you to sit down on the chair he conveniently made appear in front of his desk, as he took his usual seat. A chair that would usually be too big for him, but what you didn't know, was that Caine had stayed slightly taller, just so he could tower over you when he stood in front of you.
"Darling," he began, before snapping his fingers. A box of knives appeared on the desk, along with a giant spinning wheel next to the desk. Not too close, but not too far either for Caine to show you that every miss is intentional.
"You see, I admit that I like to keep an eye on you." He said, then snapped his fingers again. Jax appeared, and he barely had enough time to register anything before he was strapped to the wheel. It didn't even spin.
You met his gaze. "How's it goin' ?" He said, in an attempt at making you laugh, but Caine quickly shut him up in his own way, making his mouth disappear completely.
"As I said," Caine repeated his sentence. "I like to keep an eye on you. For your safety, that is. I couldn't just abandon you on your first adventure ! I would've been too worried !" He said, and for a moment you felt touched.
But that quickly ended as Caine threw a first knife at Jax's leg, missing. Again, on purpose. You flinched, and your back hit your seat.
"That, is precisely why I heard some...Unpleasant things." His upper teeth formed a frown, and for the first time, you feel directly threatened. You went limp against your chair, hands gripping the desk.
"Now," He spoke again, softer this time. Seeing you fear him was definitely something he didn't like. "You know I strongly-" He threw another knife, landing inches away from Jax's face. At this point, Jax had thought he could just think of something else. He was used to getting crushed, shot, electrocuted, anything a cartoon character went through. But the fact that Caine was purposely missing him, sent a shiver down his spine.
And don't think he's not listening because he is. And he's going to tell everyone as soon as this is over.
"-disapprove of your peers using you as a way to get what they want." If you weren't absolutely shocked by the sight of Jax getting knives thrown at him, you would've picked up on Caine muttering 'those pests...'
But you managed to push past your shock, disagreeing with what he said. "Caine, It's not...They're not taking advantage of me." You said, as your voice was still weak, from everything. You didn't even try to raise your voice.
"They need this. A...break. From what they told me, they-"
"And what, did they tell you, my sweet ?" He cut you off, resting his chin on the back of his hands. His attention was fully on you, eyes staring into your soul. For a brief second, you glance at Jax. The rabbit picked up on what you wanted to say ; Everything. He shook his head, tried to move, but Caine quickly made him disappear from his office.
It was just the two of you now. No one can get in, and no one gets out until he has heard everything he needs to know from your little brain.
Oh, if he could keep you right here, forever.

Part 1 | Part 2 ➤
Relationship : Caine x Female!Reader
Plot : What if, during Caine's massive crashout, a new human joined the circus ?
Cw : Slight yandere!Caine, human!Reader, swearing, physical violence.
Author's note : YOU'RE ALL SO LOVELY STAAWWP (btw please listen to 'circles' by KIRA, it just FITS so well, at least that's what I play in repeat when writing for this fic.)
"My dear..." He continued, holding your hand. His degrading nicknames had no reason to be used on you. Yet.
"U-Uh, what ?" Your voice finally came back as you spoke for the first time, the image of...whatever the hell you saw the second you spawned in the game still haunted your mind.
Now, you could just take your headset off, delete the game, get back to your life. But the sensations were so real. You could feel his hand, feel the atmosphere of your surroundings. Plus this 'ringmaster' they promoted on the game description is kinda cute. It made you forget the fact that you couldn't feel the headset anymore.
"Oh, forgive me my dear, you must be overwhelmed." Caine never actually did that part before. He remembered the very first human. Scratch. This one seemed to already know the place, and when Kinger arrived, Scratch was the one who reassured him. So Caine took the habit of...leaving, as soon as he had finished giving his grand tour of the circus to the new person. He figured, everyone is good at something. Humans are good with emotions, he's good at being an exceptional host. Everyone had their role in this.
Having to actually be here and be patient, understanding, and listen to you was...new, but not uncomfortable. You were the uncomfortable one.
Once Caine had led you to one of the sofas, you smiled to yourself, knowing damn well that if you sat, you'd just fall down in your living room.
Caine took your reaction as a form of hesitation, shyness. "I insist, dear, sit." His hands, although gentle before, grabbed your shoulders and you let out a gasp when he forced you down in a quick and firm way. Your lips were parted without any words coming out of them, your eyes were wide, and your whole body was shaking. Your brain felt like a bucket of cold water had been thrown at it.
"W-Wait, wait, how am I-" In that moment, your hands slowly reached for the headset, a gesture that Caine watched without worry as he sat back in the armchair next to the sofa. He knew very well that you had no way of actually escaping leaving him.
It took you several tries, before your mind came to a conclusion you did not want to draw ; you couldn't feel the headset anymore. Looking down at yourself, your breath hitched.
Until now you hadn't picked up on the fact that the game had no way of actually making an avatar that was your perfect replica. So how, exactly, did you appear like yourself ?
As the seconds went by, each breath you took hurt, and your vision threatened to become blurry.
But before you had the chance to abstract, Caine made a tea set appear on the small table in front of you, and poured two glasses. "Now, now. I understand this is a tough adjustment for you my sweet. I will be here for you." Whether you like it or not.
Your hands were too shaky, too sweaty, to take the cup Caine was handing to you. Since it was made of glass, he turned it into a more solid material, adding a straw to it. He doesn't want you to get hurt, what terrible God host would let that happen ?
A small thank you left your lips as both of your hands wrapped around the cup. Caine was grateful you weren't looking at him to see his eyes staring at you in a way even himself couldn't understand.
"S-So, um...Where there not...other people ?" You asked, clearly remembering the other characters you saw in the split moment of clarity you had before getting traumatized.
Caine took a moment to answer, his eyes were slightly retreated inside his 'head', giving him a much more serious expression. He was hesitant to tell you about them. He knows, that eventually, he's gonna have to let them out. He's not a complete monster, he knows there is a line he can't cross. That line being abandoning a human in the void permanently, even though they're not directly exposed to it. It would still be abandonment, something he won't do.
Even if the idea was tempting. Wouldn't it be great to be able to get rid of something you don't want in your perfect little world ?
"...We simply had a slight misunderstanding, nothing drastic. I sent them to their rooms so you could have some time to get comfortable, of course." A complete lie, but he had learned that lies were sometimes necessary. Even if they always end up getting discovered.
Your clueless self took a sip of the warm tea. At this point of absolute madness your mind was slowly accepting the fact that you actually felt the liquid in your mouth. However when you swallowed it, you felt nothing going down your throat. You did swallow, the tea was gone from your mouth, but it went nowhere in your body.
"A...misunderstanding ? About what ?" You asked, trying to distract yourself, to adjust to this new reality.
"Haha, my darling sunset," He began in a friendly way, before his expression became dead serious. "...let's not."
You stared at him, unsure, before he spoke again. "What about more important topics, hm ? Like your name."
"Right. My name's..." It was such an automatism that you never had to think about the answer to this question. Until right now, where for some reason you simply couldn't remember your own name. Just like a few moments ago, your eyes dropped to the ground as you desperately tried to remember.
"Ah, it's not a pressing matter. Don't hurt your little brain for this, I can think of a name for you until you can remember, what do you say ?" His voice was back to being enthusiastic, and his hands were folded in his lap, as he watched you struggle. He knew you'd never actually remember your name, choosing one for you was a subtle way for him to already have control over you.
"U-Yeah...That works, I guess..." You replied, forced to agree because if you don't, if you don't remember your name, if you don't have a name anymore, this could seriously make you lose your mind.
Caine stood up, or rather floated. You don't think you've ever saw him standing on the ground, but again, so far you've only seen terrifying things from him. "Well then, I think I have the perfect name for you. What do you think of...Angel !"
Your eyes slightly widened. "Why ?"
Easy. He's your God, you're his angel.
"Ah, well...It's the first thing that comes to my mind when I look at you." Again, a friendly little white lie. When he looks at you, he can easily generate millions of names, but the accuracy of this one was just too good to ignore.
As you look at him in silence, you can't decide if you're flattered, or if he's just always like that. You'd have to ask the others later. If this isn't a dream and you don't wake up, if you're not actually dead, if you don't end up successfully removing the headset.
As soon as you nod your head, Caine snaps his fingers, and in a blink, you're not on the sofa anymore. You're standing in front of a door, with your face on it in a circle. Your turn your head, confused, only to be met with his eyes once again deep in your soul. Being face to face with a literal mouth with no lips and skin, and two eyeballs bigger than your hands was already hard for your brain to register, so his behavior did not help at all.
Quickly shaking his head as if snapping out of it, he pushed the door open. "This, my dear, is your brand new and personalized bedroom !" He said, advertising it as if you'd have a say in what was inside. You do not, when you step in, you're met with a mix of everything Caine found when he researched luxury rooms. The floor was made out of marble, the walls were a dark shade of whatever color the top you have on is. There's a chandelier hanging in the middle, and the bed looked like it was mocking your real bed that's half broken but hey, at least you don't sleep on the floor.
Well anyway, Caine told you he had some things to take care of, and that you should stay here and rest. By 'things to take care of', he meant freeing the others and absolutely avoiding every word and scream of rage that came out of them.
Of course the very first thing that they did once Caine got back to his office, was to search for you. Your room wasn't hard to find, it was at the very end of the first half of the hallway, before it turns, the other half was in complete darkness.
You had spent the last five minutes experimenting. Touching things, lying on the bed, which was very comfortable. So much so that your ears didn't pick up on the first few knocks on your door. The only thing that motivated you to stand up was the fact that it could be them. You had so many questions, and while your charming host had been a pleasant company, you could tell there were some things he wanted to avoid explaining.
As soon as you opened the door, the group pushed past you, and immediately closed the door. Zooble's attention was not on the room, it was on you. "You're...Actually here. I was hoping it was just a hallucination..." They said, standing inches from you. You took a small step back, your back brushing against a wall. From your point of view, Zooble was a horrifying sight. They were a pile of parts that didn't go together, no mouth, and yet, they talked.
But you didn't want to sound rude, so even though you were clearly nervous, you still gave them a smile. "H-Hi ! Uh...I was looking forward to meeting you guys..." You said, before looking to your right, to where the others were looking around your room.
"Right, listen. Whatever Caine tells you, it's a bunch of-"
"Zooble, please ! Let them breathe !" Intervened a...Was that supposed to be a ragdoll ? "It's nice to meet you ! My name is Ragatha, this is Zooble, and Gangle..." She pointed to the remaining three who were now walking back to you. "And there's Pomni, Jax and Kinger !"
"Cool, cool...I'm uh..."
"It's okay, none of us remember our names. We made them up." Said Gangle, before Jax walked back to the group. "Did Caine pull out the name wheel for you ?"
"Uh, no. He let me some time to remember my name. In the meantime, he gave me the name 'Angel'."
There was a general silence, until Jax let out a very unimpressed breath. "Interesting."
"Sorry, what ? He calls you what ?" Zooble's confusion was clear, until they looked around your room, taking it in for the first time and became annoyed as they realized something. They kept it to themselves for now.
Jax cleared his throat before speaking again. "Aren't we gonna address the...Human, in the room ?" He pointed out with a smirk, and suddenly everyone was staring at you.
"That's strange...Why would you look so realistic ?" Ragatha asked, as she looked down at her own hands, with a flat surface and a thumb.
"I don't know, but um...I kinda have...questions ?" You said, still looking between them all, getting acquainted with their appearances. Yours wasn't your main concern right now. You have all the time in the world to talk about this, if this was really your new home.
"Right, right ! We'll answer all of them, but before that you have to know that you cannot trust Caine." Replied Zooble, before you're led to your bed. You sat between Pomni and Gangle, Ragatha sat next to Pomni, and Jax was leaning against a bookshelf. Bookshelf that contained books with blank pages, and generic titles about hobbies. Kinger stood there, and Zooble stood in front of you.
For a long moment, they explained exactly what happened before, from the moment Ragatha joined the circus, all sharing their similar experiences, to the very moment you appeared. They told you how things began to go downhill, and the whole thing with Abel of course.
"Look, the only thing you have to remember is that you can't let yourself get manipulated by him, and that we're always gonna be toge-" Zooble suddenly got teleported to god know where in the middle of their sentence.
This caused a laugh to come out of you due to the comedic aspect of the scene, before you got the hint that this wasn't the mood at all. "S-Sorry, uh, what happened ?"
"Aaaand, we're done here. Caine's watching and now Zooble is dead." Said Jax, as he began to leave the room. "Wait, how..." You were confused, not knowing if he was joking about that last part and now you felt bad for laughing, until Pomni put her hand on your shoulder, and gave you a kind smile. "Don't mind him, everything's fine. We should leave you be a little."
Ragatha nodded. "Try to get some sleep, we'll be here for you when you get up."
And on those words, they all left. You're left alone with your thoughts, and everything that you now knew. You believed them, why wouldn't you ? They're human, they went through the exact same emotions as you, and Caine is just an AI. That being said, with everything they told you about him, you're conflicted.
He was so charming, so gentle with you. It felt almost wrong to doubt him, even when you knew exactly what he was now. You just couldn't feel any anger towards him. Maybe you'd have to wait and see, until then, you don't want to betray either side by picking one.
Rubbing your eyes one more time just to make sure you weren't actually just imagining it all, you decided to sleep. At least that would help calm your nerves a bit.
You've never actually fallen asleep so quickly before, but that was probably for the best. That way you couldn't feel the brush of gloved fingers against your cheek.
Caine had seen, had heard everything. How could he not ? He knew they would immediately come to you, humans are just like that. And for a moment, he wished you weren't one.
He stood next to your bed, actually stood, feet hitting the floor, and that would terrify anyone if they saw it. You looked so...fragile. Caine knew you weren't different from the others, he knew he could very much extend your limbs, turn you into multiple different shapes, throw knives at you while you're attached to a spinning wheel. But for some reason, the thought of putting you through it all doesn't sit right with him.
Oh well, he'd find other ways of punishing you if you turned against him. But you wouldn't, not you. He'd make sure of it.

Part 1
Relationship : Caine x Female!Reader
Plot : What if, during Caine's massive crashout, a new human joined the circus ? (AH ! BET YOU DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING)
Cw : Slight yandere!Caine, human!Reader, swearing, physical violence.
This is meant to be a multitude chapters fic.
It had been days, maybe weeks, since Caine became...Different. After his whole musical number about putting them back in their place, the atmosphere of the circus took a drastic turn. The gang tried every possible solution to avoid his 'brand new' unhinged adventures. Hiding, begging, screaming. Caine wasn't even listening anymore. He just snapped his fingers and they were off to another adventure.
Those didn't even seem complete. Walls glitched, textures were half there, and the storylines were sometimes lazy or straight up unfinished. Like Caine himself was mass producing adventures to ensure that they would be trapped in an endless cycle.
Like his passion for creating brand new worlds had vanished.
You'd think they could at least take the opportunity of being away from Caine during these adventures to take a break ? Nope ! If his hundreds of all seeing eyes caught them slacking off, NPCs would suddenly become more aggressive, faster and sometimes they'd be forced to move forward or pushed by invisible walls.
At this point none of them knew when this would end. Or if Caine would actually get tired of this constant torture. There was even a time where he shoved them right back into another adventure as they stepped out of the previous one.
"This...doesn't help." Said Jax the moment his back hit one of the lawn chairs outside the tent, in the beach area. Gangle suggested a 'nice' time outside, and since the whole group was now more united than ever before, they agreed.
"At least it's a nice change of scenery. Hey Pomni, do you want to show me those fish you mentioned when we were here last time ?" Ragatha asked, making sure that the conversation doesn't end up being about Caine again.
Time seemed to go by slowly. Maybe they were trying to savor the moment, maybe they were counting each second until Caine decided it was their turn again. "You know," began Zooble, as they helped Gangle making a sandcastle. "I never actually feared him. I mean, over the years, I just saw him as a meaningless part of my life. Something I can ignore and live without. I never thought he'd..." They didn't finish their sentence, simply sighing, before letting out a grunt of frustration after Jax crushed the sandcastle with his feet.
"What ? It's to keep you occupied. You're welcome." He said with a smirk, and then-
"That's so weird, do you think he deleted them ? Why would he do that ?" "I don't know, maybe he likes to replace and update his NPCs or something." Pomni and Ragatha came out of the water, and Zooble turned their attention on them.
"What's wrong ?" They asked, and Ragatha shrugged it off with a wave of her hand. "Don't worry, we just couldn't find the NPCs in the water. It's just nice to be out in the...." Ragatha paused, as she looked up. It was silent as everyone (except Kinger who was doing god knows what in a corner) stared at her.
"Uh guys...? Where's the sun ? W-Why is there no sun ?" She pointed out, mildly disturbed by her realization.
"Wait, I didn't see her when we stepped out." Zooble said, and another silence took over the group.
"Oookay..." Jax sighed, before continuing. "So no NPCs 'round the circus anymore. Caine defo lost it." "Defo ? Seriously ?" Zooble replied immediately, before focusing back on the situation. "But, yeah that's weird."
"It feels wrong to be out here now that we know we're the only ones around. Maybe we should go back inside ?" Gangle sounded worried, like usual, but this unsettling feeling quickly took over everyone.
So, they all began to head back inside. Big mistake.
"Ah ! There you are ! I was starting to think you all abstracted or something. That'd be really uncool of you guys." Caine floated near the entrance of the tent, no bubble in sight. Weird.
"Honestly I'd rather just abstract at this point." Said Jax in the most nonchalant way possible, before getting shoved by Zooble. "Hey ! Don't say that in front of him, we're doing the 'positive' sh*t, remember ?" They whispered angrily, reminding Jax of the strategy they had been using for a while now. Well, it didn't seem to work, but with time, maybe...
"Um...Nice...Seeing you Caine ! Is there an adventure you made for us today ? Looking forward to that !" A nervous chuckle escape Ragatha as she spoke, and Caine crossed his arms. He was truly unreadable these days, which was a drastic change from all the exaggerated expressions he'd normally take.
"Not quite, my dried starfish." His voice lacked his usual enthusiasm, and his nicknames were less and less joyous. "Today's adventure is completely up to you."
For a moment the group seemed to be somewhat reassured, until Caine snapped his fingers a bunch of times. Two glass cells appeared, one left and one right. Then, in front of the group, a panel with two buttons appeared. The exact same ones as the day they were tricked by Caine. The buttons that, in a way, started it all.
Then, Ragatha and Jax were thrown into the cells. "You, will have to choose one of them to sacrifice to save the other." Caine began his explanation, pointing at the now small and confused group. "If you press the blue button, A swarm of bugs will fill up Ragatha's cell, causing her UNFORTUNATE dismay." He said, and ignored the desperate cries of the ragdoll. "And if you press the red button, Jax will get electrocuted for all eternity. You have five minutes to ch-"
"YEAH, no. We're not doing that." Interrupted Zooble, causing Caine to visibly frown.
"You have to. It's today's adventure-"
"Caine, this needs to stop." Pomni took a step forward, surprising everyone, even Caine himself. "You don't realize that you're going too far."
"You're putting us through hell. And for what ? Because you never listen to us and suddenly we're ungrateful ?" Zooble spoke again, and for a second, Caine seemed to be internally struggling. He didn't speak. One of his hands started to glitch.
"U-U-Ungreahejsi-" His head started to shake mildly, before his unstable state got back to normal "Ungrateful ! That's all you're good at ! I work, and work, and work endlessly, to adapt to you, to shape my adventures in ways that will appeal to everyone."
In a very disturbing way, he slowly started to grow bigger and bigger, additional limbs tearing through his body until he took up most of the space.
"I made this all for you ! Human after human, I have to stare at my failure as a host when one of you abstracts. And when I try harder to keep you sane, you spit in my face !" His multiple hands violently grabbed all of them, breaking through the glass cells to get a hold of Ragatha and Jax too. Their kicks and screams do absolutely nothing against Caine as his eyes pierce through their very souls.
"If it wasn't for the fact that I can't stand the circus when it's empty, I'd have you all in the cellar in the snap of a finger ! Don't you understand by now ? I AM YOUR GOD-"
POP
An astonishing silence took over the circus after this sound interrupted his rampage. The group, aside from Pomni, suddenly realized what this sound meant. This sound you heard if you were close enough to the stage. This sound you'd typically hear when-
The moment Caine's eyes drifted to the stage, his hands let go of everyone. The second after, he was back to normal, like he had been rebooted entirely. Except he hadn't been.
His eyes had caught you. Hopeless you, staring with horror at what you had just seen. Standing up on that stage with wide eyes.
A new human had just appeared, at the worst time possible.
The other humans barely had any time to register the fact that they had been dropped. They completely forgot about the previous argument, forgot about Caine. Everything in them screamed to run towards you. To grab you violently, to make sure that vr headset removes itself from your head, to save your life.
But they couldn't move. Caine couldn't move either. Not only did you chose a very bad time to arrive, but also...You were...you. You had hair, human skin, human eyes, human...Like you were not supposed to be here, not like that, not right now.
"My...MY ! Where are my manners ?!" Caine had snapped out of his trance, straightened his bowtie and he floated towards you. He did his usual speech, presenting the circus, all that, before randomly turning his head towards the group.
"Oh !" He snapped his fingers, and they were all teleported to their own rooms. He had moved their rooms to the void, of course ! Can't risk Jax freeing everyone with his bucket of keys after all ! He couldn't have them in the way, not for now.
"Please ignore them, my..." A breath of hesitation, or perhaps frustration, left him as he realized something.
You were perfect. Not because of your appearance, oh no. Caine doesn't actually know what a real human looks like. To him, you're just an ultra detailed humanoid character. At least he could tell that. No, you were perfect, because you were new. A fresh start, a second chance.
"My dear..."

[Endeavor x gn!Reader] AFAB
➩ CW : Reader being a massive loser. Cheating, smut, Best Jeanist is in fact not the best Jeanist, All for one (for some reason).
🌌✨🌌✨🌌✨🌌✨🌌✨🌌✨🌌✨🌌✨🌌
The musutafu police station had a modern exterior, with glass walls and plants and flowers around the entry, possibly requested by a council to make it less intimidating.
Anyway, your ass had been sitting on a folding chair in the hallway of the second floor for the last 30 minutes. Endeavor hasn't said a word to you, he just disappeared into one of the offices.
Considering your options, you could just stand up and leave, but then you'd be wanted and Endeavor would think he was right about you being shady. Or, text someone to grab your license and give it to you. However, you didn't know anyone that close to you who'd willingly do that, and who is neither Hawks or Mirko. So, you just waited there until a policeman showed up.
"Good day," He began, holding his belt with only his thumbs in, like a sheriff. "I'm officer Ryota, follow me please." As you followed him, you noticed that the second floor was reserved for more...serious cases. Compared to the thugs you saw when you entered the building, as you walked through the halls, you could hear some pretty serious accusations from the half closed rooms.
And that made you anxious, because you're on that second floor seriousness. The officer brought you to his office, a small room but each wall was covered in files with big shelves, there was barely any space for the window that seemed cramped.
Funny enough, Endeavor was there, sitting with a coffee in hand. Of course you wouldn't get one. You sat next to him, thankful and a little surprised that you hadn't been put in handcuffs.
"So," The officer began, as he looked between the computer and Endeavor. "You're saying that Y/N L/N here may not detain a professional hero license ?"
"Hold on." Endeavor raised his hand, pausing the officer in what he was reading. "You already have their full name ?"
"Well yes, I have their criminal record right in front of me." Ryota was actually clueless as to why Endeavor's eyes widened, and you, oh your back hit the chair as you cursed internally.
A hero is not supposed to have a criminal record. That's the first thing they search for when you apply for a hero school. Ryota may not know that, but you and Endeavor do. Enji's eyes turn to you, and you simply meet his gaze before muttering "Don't look at me for answers."
And the room fell into a deep silence for a hot minute, until the officer clears his throat out of awkwardness.
"Um...Well, looking at their official status, it does state that they are a recognized professional hero..." He then looked at you. "May I see your license please ?"
"Uh, I don't...-" "They don't have it on them." Endeavor cut you off before he huffed in annoyance, crossing his arms in a firm, almost painful way if he didn't have that much muscle and his hero suit on. "Young heroes these days..." He muttered under his fiery beard.
You didn't answer his obvious offense, simply giving him a side eye glance before looking back at the officer. Ryota was already sweating from the pressure of having Endeavor in his office. He looked back at you, wondering why you were even having this discussion.
"Well then, if you came back later so that we can take a look at it, there won't be any reason to be suspicious of you then."
"Take a look at it...?" You asked, unconsciously crossing your arms in the same in the same way as Endeavor, which the hero very much noticed.
"It's a simple procedure, we have a folder with all the criteria that makes it an official license. We have to be careful with forgeries these days."
"A lot of forgeries recently ?" Asked Endeavor, to which the officer nodded in response.
"Right." You shook your head. "Right, I'll uhh...Come back this week to do that."
The officer gave you his card, and you were free to go. However, as you and Endeavor got in the elevator, the atmosphere wasn't so pleasant. He seemed in the middle of an existential crisis, and you thanked the stars that he didn't speak to you.
Or so you thought. As soon as you stepped out of the elevator, you heard his voice behind you. "I'm watching you." He spat out, like you were suddenly meaningless to him.
"Is...that a threat ? You replied, half turning to look at him.
Enji furrowed his eyebrows, like an ant had suddenly started to run away from his menacing foot. Without saying a word, he left the station.
-♥︎-♡-♡-
Endeavor sat in the back seat of his car as his driver, a crazy looking guy despite his occupation, drove him home. Enji thought back about what happened. About how he felt about you.
When he met you, he thought you were just another mid hero. Not too good to go up a few ranks, but not too bad either, especially with what happened at that convenience store. Your quirk didn't fit well with heroism. It's something you'd normally see in the villain world.
And finally, you. Somehow, he couldn't deny that you were...attractive. Even though everything about you was different from what he's always known. His secretary for example, wasn't his type. He knew that he wasn't attracted to superficial blondes, but they were easy.
When Enji was too pent up or not in the mood to find a challenge, someone hard to get, he always went for easy. But it's been a very, very long time since he actually had a serious relationship. Back in high school, he didn't have the time or patience for a girlfriend. It's always been training and keeping up a good reputation to impress people.
Rei couldn't be considered a serious relationship. She's always been a vessel, and rare were the days Enji saw her as a partner. It got worse after Touya's death. Before that, when they had an actual family and Touya could barely make any flames, he once thought...Maybe, just maybe...He could allow himself to fall in love with her.
Enji suddenly let out a frustrated sigh. He was originally trying to figure you out, and he caught himself drifting over to...unpleasant subjects.
As he entered the traditional Japanese home, he felt the silence of the living room. No one in sight, no one to talk to. When Shoto was just a baby, the house was full of life. Children running everywhere, Rei humming tunes for Shoto to fall asleep in the little crib of the nursery. Now the nursery is just a dusty room with the door locked, the furniture frozen, ready to be used again, still holding on to the memories.
Enji hates it. He tells himself it's a good thing. No one around means he can work in peace. But when he's not working for once, sitting on the couch, a glass of some expensive sake he tells himself he likes because his mother used to drink it, the silence surrounds him.
It's in these moments, that he can feel the weight of his actions. He hates it. He can't bear it.
So, the next thing he does is to call Hawks. Since he became the number one hero, Hawks had been clinging to him for whatever reason. But at least he's there, no matter how harshly Enji pushes him away, he doesn't abandon him.
"Aahh I know you'd call, Endy~" Keigo didn't miss a single ring, he picked up as soon as he saw the incoming call.
"Do not call me that."
"Come on, we're practically best friends. So what do you need ? Me ?" The dirty joke mixed with an actual try at flirting wasn't lost on Enji, who just sighed in response.
"I've seen you around H/N. What can you tell me on them ?"
"Really ? Not even a 'how you doing' ? It's like all you talk about these days is them." After a tiny little threat from Enji, who's cheeks were now a brighter color, Hawks rolled his eyes.
"Fine, I'll tell ya everything I know."

You don't own a car, you don't even have your drivers license. You're stuck to take the bus to get home, and it's another hour until you're back in your apartment.
As you closed the door, you sighed. Great, just great. Your life was finally beginning to get brighter, and now you were a criminal in Endeavor's eyes. Plus you'd have to go back to the station.
Why do you care about his opinion of you so much anyway ? He's the number one hero, if he wants, your career ends today. But he's also one of your biggest inspirations.
And sure, he makes your heart flutter when you hear his footsteps getting closer, the ground always seem to be shaking, and for some reason, you always find excitement in the anxiety of not knowing what he wants from you.
But thanks to him, a part of you always wanted to become a hero, and at the time you even considered becoming one of his sidekicks.
Truth is, you actually got into U.A at 15, things weren't easy and your grades got low very quickly. You were ashamed to admit to Endeavor that you got expelled, so in the end you made him think you went to Shiketsu. Which you were sure as hell he didn't believe it one second.
And anyone who knew how this society worked, would know that being expelled from the top hero school of the country basically meant you would be rejected by every other hero schools. It's a simple sign that you did something worth of being called a deviant.
You walked to your room, opened a drawer and grabbed your license. It looked...Normal, but you couldn't help but feel anxious. You just couldn't shake the feeling that they'd see something wrong with it.
"There's no way in hell that thing's legit."

"NOBODY MOVE IT'S A HOLD UP !"
Oh boi.
"Get down, now !" One said in a menacing voice, and everyone immediately knelt down, except for you.
Two guys, clearly in their mid 30s, were trying to rob the grocery store with a knife and a spoon.
The menacing one, looked at his accomplice, gazing at the spoon with a facial expression that could kill.
"...Dude. Why do you have a spoon ?"
"You told me to bring something, but you didn't give me enough time to choose !"
"...So you took a SPOON ?!"
"Ladies, please." You said sarcastically with an unimpressed look on your face. Clearly this wasn't the scariest stuff you've seen in your life.
"What the hell's your problem ?" The actual serious one said, pointing his knife at you.
"Hey Shinji wait ! This one's a hero !"
"Huh ?" Shinji looked you up and down, judging your rather original choice of clothes. Messy hair, torn vest, a jogging.
He pauses, glancing at his partner with a more than skeptical look. "You sure...?"
"Yeah yeah ! You're H/N, right ?!" The second one says, a little too excited.
"Yep...." You simply reply, not entirely sure if it's a good thing that the only person to ever recognize you in public is a Villain. With a spoon in hand.
"Told you ! Their quirk is amazing !"
"Oh yeah, what is it ? I'd like to see you trying to stop us !"
Great, another totally comfortable moment for you !
You just stand there hands in your pockets as black, sticky tentacles burst out of both sides of your neck. Your "fan" just stays still, sparks in his eyes. Shinji, on the other hand, is now about to throw up.
The civilians around you are both disgusted and grateful. One of them crawls to the back of the store to call the police, thanks to your distraction.
Shinji tries to cut your tentacles with his knife, but one of them just absorbs it, growing bigger as if it ate it.
In the end you catch both of them, trapping them while you check around you to make sure no one fainted. The police was quick to arrive.
"Great job, civilian ! You can be proud of yourself !" A police officer said, a hand on your shoulder, as his colleges handled the criminals.
"My name's Chuck by the way !!" Your new number one fan shouts as he's taken away by force.
You wave Chuck goodbye, a little sad that your one and only fan will go to jail now.
"By the way, I'm a hero." You say, proudly, a smile on your face for the first time in a while. You almost want to cry. A hero ! You're a hero !
Back in your apartment with free groceries (it's not stealing if the cashier is too shocked to remember who paid and who didn't), you turn the TV on, selecting the local news. A crew was live in front of the police cars and the store.
"Number 20, H/N, saves the day in a local grocery store." That's the headline of the Musutafu news channel. They must've got your name from Chuck. It's not much, but it makes you happy to live again. As if your life finally has a goal.
By the way, they have no pictures of you to show, so they took an old photo of All might and zoomed in to show your blurry face in the background, chugging down the drink you had in hand.
But still, it's a good situation for you. Maybe...Maybe your career is finally going to go up again.
-♥︎-♡-♡-
Enji just got back in the main hall of his agency, having finished his last scheduled patrol. He didn't fire that blonde yet, she's been doing some actual work lately after he stopped paying attention to her.
She even told him about you. That definitely intrigued him, given that the only source of your actual presence on the scene was given by one of the robbers. The hostages were too shocked, and the security cameras of the stores had been turned off for months, budget cuts.
A week went by since, and Enji had been thinking about you. Not that he found you attractive, if anything, you were the exact opposite of his type. Which is...Easy people. At least he thinks so, since the only relationships he's ever had, had been easy peasy as long as money kept flowing.
And you were in fact not, someone easy. Hard to understand, hard to see.
But still, he wanted to try. He's been doing only that since the beginning of his redemption after all. Try. So at last, he paid All might a visit.
Toshinori was always pleased to see Enji, especially outside of U.A, but this time he was more confused than anything. The two men met at one of the high ends restaurants in Tokyo. The kinds that offered a private room to dine in perfect confidentiality.
"So. I was...curious...about one of the top 20 heroes. Well, the number 20, in particular." Enji began, more invested in the conversation rather than in the food.
All might paused, trying to remember. Of course he's been too busy to be at most meetings, but he doesn't forget a familiar face that easily !
"You...Might have to refresh my memory there." He admitted, truly lost this time.
"The weird one that's been there too long at this spot, with the tentacles in their neck...?"
"Oh ! Oh yes, I remember them ! Uh...H/N right ?" In that moment Toshinori's face held an hint of uneasiness.
"Right. What do you know about them ?"
"They've been here for a while. They just appeared out of nowhere, and...Stayed in that spot since then."
The man explained how each one of his encounters with you had been awkward, mostly because you don't seem to share the same interested and passion for heroism.
But aside from that, All might didn't know anything about you. Your real name, your first public appearance, all of those were almost secret. Enji decided not to push it. He's never been intimidated by anyone before, and it's not about to start now. If he wants to know more about you, he'll talk to you directly.
However, that was harder than what he thought. Finding you was hell. You had left Mirko and Burnin on read, not talking to them for weeks. And when Enji asked for your contact from Best Jeanist, he simply replied with "Oh, I deleted it. I won't be working with them again." Great.
The day he did find you again though, was a month later. He had been called for backup right outside of Musutafu, three villains had attacked a group of police officers, stole their guns and were holding them hostage. Their motive wasn't clear, as they kept arguing about what they wanted.
When Endeavor got there, he saw a couple of heroes already securing the area, and one in particular was standing next to the negotiator. Some hours later the villains had been caught, and the heroes present were leaving the scene. But you had been cornered by Endeavor.
"What's your deal, H/N ?" He asked bluntly, as ever, holding your gaze with clear determination.
"What do you mean ?" You reply, not entirely sure why you're even having this conversation.
"All might says you just took the 20th spot then never seeked to go higher. You've never even been lower once since you got there."
"I'm just trying to get my career up, you know some heroes aren't as lucky as you."
That annoyed Enji. Lucky ? How dare you. None of that was luck, just hard work.
"Don't you dare talk about luck—" He cut himself, cursing under his flames. He can't get angry, he's a changed man. A better man. Anger is never the solution. He sighed, taking a step back.
"Look. I'm just trying to understand. There's no record of your activities, no information about your scholarship. What hero school did you go to ?"
"Uhhh...Shiketsu." That hesitation made Enji's eyes narrow.
"What's their motto ?" He asked, still wanting to believe you despite the obvious lie you spit out.
"Don't remember. Look, I gotta go, and..." You tried your best to move your legs fast enough, but Enji anticipated that, took a step forward and raised his hand in a warning.
"Wait." He said, and whatever softness in his expression left. "You're sounding very shady about all of this."
"Shady ? What, because I don't want to explain my whole life, I sound shady ?"
"You're giving me a reason to suspect you of faking your way to heroism. I'd like to see your license."
"I—" A look of horror spread on your face as you realized you didn't have it on you. "I don't...Have it."
"A hero should always be prepared, what if civilians started to dress up and act like heroes ?" He's got a point, but he also sounds like a man who got a hundred copies of his license printed out, brings one with him everywhere and if it's destroyed he's got plenty more.
"Yeah well I don't have it. And by the way, do you have authorization to ask me that ?"
Does he ? Probably not, but the way you're acting gives him the right to at least try. Plus he's the number one hero, who would he crazy enough to question him ?
After silently debating with himself, Enji sighed loudly and grabbed your wrist.
"H/N, you're being detained for suspicious activities. Follow me."

"Damn, must suck to be you huh ?"
You turn around and it's Hawks, leaning against the wall with his right arm. He's giving you that cocky grin of his.
"Hawks. Uhhh, I don't really have the time to do this right now."
"Come on, it's been a while since I've seen you around." The blonde says as he walks over to you. "Let's go grab a drink !"
You didn't even realize that you had started to walk out of the building with him. He tells you all about his mission in infiltrating the league, which doesn't really impress you.
Given your past.
The two of you enter a bar from across the street and order some drinks.
"So, Mirko told me about your patrol."
"She did ?" Is she even my friend at this point ? You think to yourself before letting out a sigh.
"You could've asked me to give you some work to do. Feeling a little offended there."
"Yeah yeah sure." You dismiss the topic, taking a first sip from your drink. It's not that you don't like him, but...You've been around long enough to know all about his unserious nature. And what you're seeking is...
Success. Absolute fame and a good financial situation.
Of course you'd need to befriend other heroes to get there. So maybe Hawks isn't as useless as you thought.
Determined, you look back at him after maybe five minutes of pure silence and awkwardness on your part. But you just see a woman standing there.
"Are you ready to pay ?"
"Huh ?"
"The gentleman that just left told me to put it on your tab..." The waitress says, visibly hiding the tip he must've given her before leaving.
Speaking of leaving, you turn your head towards the door and see his figure from afar, flying away.
"Just. Great."
-♥︎-♡-♡-
Endeavor has had enough of her. She's been here for two weeks now, replacing Susan. He thought she could be the one, you know ? No, not a soulmate. Gosh no. Enji doesn't even know what that word means.
But he thought they could maintain a good dynamic. She would do a little bit of work to keep up appearances and spread her legs for him from time to time.
"Enji what's wrong ?" She asks, looking into his eyes. His eyes clearly unfocused, though not avoiding the naked woman beneath him.
He grunts, not answering her for a moment. He just focuses on his own needs, thrusting in and out of her at an incredible rough pace. He doesn't even care that literary anyone on the same floor as them can hear everything.
For a quick second, he looks into her eyes. He never does. What a beautiful mistake he made.
It's your eyes he sees.
It's your face he sees on her body.
Enji brutally stops, and without saying anything else, he puts his pants back on and steps out of his office.
You (unfortunately) have a so called best friend that sometimes invites you to see Burnin with her. And right now, you're in no position to decline given your new mindset. It's 5pm and like always, you three hung out in an empty open space of the Endeavor agency.
Suddenly something pulls you out of there. A rising discomfort. You excuse yourself out of that room, exploring the hallways, hoping to find a restroom.
No luck, hopefully the bottom floor has one. You patiently wait for the elevator, and when the doors finally open...
Shit.
Shit.
You both just look at each other before Endeavor breaks the silence.
"Are you just going to stand there ?" His voice is harsh, his arms are crossed. And his eyes...Let's not talk about them.
"R-Right..." Stepping in, you find yourself pushed against a corner of the elevator. You're in a closed space with literal fire next to your face. 30 seconds and you're intoxicated.
Enji doesn't look your way. He did when you were face to face. It's all he needs to engrave your face into his memory.
"You look miserable." He says bluntly, not caring about your reaction. Enji remembers your appearance on the day of the meeting.
A tired, non-charismatic hero. But a hero nonetheless. Even though he doesn't truly understand what you do or why you're here.
And right now ? You're a mess. He thinks you just got out of a huge fight.
You don't say anything else. When the elevator finally stops, the two of you step out. You're hit with fresh air but the only thing you're thinking about is isolating yourself.
You frown as you hear your own steps getting louder. Weird, you thought. But when you look over your shoulder, your eyes widened as you realize that he's heading towards the bathroom as well.
And of course you look at him with a confused expression when he freezes. Your hand is on the women's bathroom door.
"You're-...Never mind." He shakes his head, hurrying himself into the men's side.
"What the hell..." You whisper, finally alone in the restroom. That discomfort which pulled you out of that room was long gone, and now you're left wondering what's going on in your life.
-♥︎-♥︎-♡-
Endeavor left the restroom after thirty seconds of existential crisis. He is not going back to this woman and he's definitely not talking to you ever again.
As he walks through the hallway of the first floor, he suddenly stops. Laughter echoing in the hall, coming from the open space. The hero rolls his eyes as he looks in the room, seeing Burnin and Mirko.
Look, usually he would scold them for not being productive, especially when it's getting late and criminals begin to come out of the shadows.
But the few words that he could make out of their conversation got him intrigued. Enji carefully walks closer, hiding his massive body behind a wall.
"I mean, they're not exactly making any effort..."
"See ! Seriously why do you stick around Y/N ? They never want to party, always being so serious about working but they're not even good at it !"
"Honestly ? At first I had sympathy for them. Really. But now I just know they're gonna fail. I wanna see it."
"You know what, hell yeah. And I feel like a lot of people want to see that too."
"Wonder why..."
They change the subject after what felt an eternity for Enji. Wait. Aren't they your friends ? Why would they say such things ? As he's deep in thought, you suddenly appear in the hallway, having built up the courage to go back in the room.
Your eyes lock with his as you both stop. His eyes widen for a quick second until he figures out what to do.
Endeavor walks towards you, stopping only when he's next to you. "Do not go back into that room." That's all he says, before leaving.
Does he feel sympathy for you ? Perhaps he's simply doing his job, protecting you. And somehow, you thank him for that.
Two days later, you still haven't answered Mirko's texts. You honestly didn't know what to do, because you have no idea what's going on in her head.
In a convenience store, you're hesitating between a cheap brand and an even cheaper brand that may contain weird stuff in it.
"NOBODY MOVES IT'S A HOLD UP"

🌌✨🌌✨🌌✨🌌✨🌌✨🌌✨🌌✨🌌✨🌌
Your're already late and it's your first day.
Going on a night patrol with Best Jeanist was the last thing you could've imagine when Mirko said she had a plan for you.
The two of you are good friends, that's why she's willing to help you out. Lately the hero scene has been...overflowing. Vigilantes, Shiketsu and U.A graduates, old heroes refusing to retire...
It also happens that, you're not that good of a hero.
So you don't have that many opportunities to shine. Honestly, you don't even know how you made it to the top 50.
"Shit, shit, shit-" You run through your apartment, desperately trying to find your keys and your phone.
30 minutes later, you're standing in the cold air of winter, arms in your back, the wii music in your head as Best Jeanist gives you a full YouTube rage compilation.
"Do you not realize that in the five years you've been a hero, you're still not as mature as a class 1-A stud-"
"Jeanist."
A deep voice makes you both turn around to see Endeavor, walking towards you. He stops in front of you.
"You were supposed to start your patrol 30 minutes ago." The living Olympic flame (yes) states, raising an eyebrow.
Best Jeanist sighs and points at you like you're a plastic bag in the grass. "My partner was late."
Damn, you thought. Why does everybody hates your guts that much ?
Endeavor finally acknowledges your presence, looking at you up and down. He lets out a scoff as he crosses his arms.
"It's not like you to give newbies a shot."
"Newbies ? Excuse me I'm the number 20-"
"Quiet."
You stared blankly at Best Jeanist who just basically told you to shut up.
"Let's get moving before sunrise" He continues, before you two move away from Endeavor.
-♥︎-♡-♡-♡-♡-♡-♡-♡-
Two days later, you're sitting outside a meeting room with Mirko. You just stare at her with your arms crossed as she tries to a convincing speech.
"Okay, look, I know it sounds bad but-"
"Sounds ?! Girl you can't just tell me that Best Jeanist told you I'm the worst hero he's ever worked with !"
In response, Mirko gives you a thumbs up and a not convincing smile. "At least you're not dead...?"
You sigh, done with pretty much everything. Mirko puts a hand on your shoulder.
"Look, I'm sorry. But you gotta find a way to be more...uh...hero...like ?"
You look at her with a dumbfounded expression. "All I did was wave at All for one and tell him he should compete in drag race. It's not my fault he actually-"
"I'm not talking about that ! Y/N, seriously, do you never stop being like that ?"
"Why are you even my friend ?"
Mirko shrugged. There's an awkward silence before the ding of the elevator is heard. You both look to see Endeavor and his personal assistant.
"Huh, never seen her." You said, your eyes narrowing. Endeavor's personal assistant has always been a strict woman called Susan. The usual type that tells you to shut up when you're just flipping the pages of a book.
But it's not Susan. Instead it's a young woman, probably in her 20s, with long blonde hair and a uniform that looked kinda inappropriate.
"I've already seen her. She's been around for like a week." Mirko says as they walk past you. Endeavor glances at you, and for a second, you catch a glimpse of surprise in his eyes.
"Well she's prettier than Susan." You replied, watching them enter the meeting room.
"That's why she's replacing her, I guess."
"But why ? She looks incompetent-"
"Oh they definitely fucked."
You and Mirko slowly turn your heads towards who the hell just interrupted you.
"What ? It's true." Burnin has been standing there, casually listening to your conversation from the start. Mirko immediately walks to her to greet her. And you...
Yeah we definitely lost you. Rip I guess.
"Uh...Are they okay ?"
"Who ? Oh Y/N ! Nah they're fine."
As the two women chat, you sit there, unable to figure out why the hell this information made you sick. Endeavor called you a newbie, he's a total jerk ! Good for him that he's cheating on his wife with this girl !
This is what you're trying to comfort yourself with. Next thing you know, Mirko takes your wrist and shoves you in that meeting room.
It's not that you hate meetings with your fellow top 30 to 20 peers...But you hate them. Somehow you always end up feeling like you don't belong here. Like you're a top 100 at the prestige table.
Endeavor is only here to play his number one role.
And you're distracted.
Both by Mirko making silly faces at you through the glass wall, which would normally be very funny, and by that blonde lady standing next to Endeavor.
It's clear that she doesn't have a single clue of what's being discussed, and it only serves to make you angry. It's confusing.
But still you manage to catch Endeavor's eyes on you. For a moment, it's like you can read his mind. And he's thinking...
Who the hell is this ?
-♥︎-♥︎-♡-♡-♡-♡-♡-♡-
"Okay so...We should be able to catch that villain if we just tried to..."
"Totally, we should just..."
"Yeah. What do you think, H/N ?"
An awkward silence fills the room as everyone looks at you, waiting for you to come back to reality.
"Huh ? Oh, sorry..." Your eyes look down at the map on the table, then up at the whiteboard. Endeavor stands next to it, making it hard to focus.
Having absolutely no idea of what the hell happened during your blackout, you clear your throat and try to pull it off as best as you can.
"Uhhh....Yup we should totally do that !"
"Then it's settled !"
The table cheers, and you let out a relived sigh. Being the highest ranked hero in the room (besides Endeavor) gives you a little authority, even if people always end up seeing you as a weaker fighter on the battlefield.
The meeting's finally over, and before you can leave the room to complain about your life choices to Mirko...
"H/N"
A deep voice calls you, and you immediately know what's going to happen in the next 10 minutes. You turn around and see that there's only three people left ; You, Endeavor, and his assistant.
Taking a deep breath, you walk over to them and place your arms behind your back as you stop.
"Yes sir ?"
"What's your quirk ?" He asks coldly without an ounce of interest.
"I create tentacles from my neck that are so gross people vomit when they see it, sir."
.....
"Ewww why are you even a hero !" The woman next to Endeavor exclaims. He gives her a warning glare before looking back at you.
"How does...such a quirk lets you stay in the top 20 ?" This time, he is actually confused.
You just shrugg and look to the side. "I don't know."
Endeavor let you go right after this awkward moment. You head to the break room, but you don't see Mirko. In fact, you don't see anyone else.
"Damn. Must suck to be you, huh ?"

The dragon's heart
Endeavor x F!Reader
(Disclaimer ; My inspiration for writing this comes from somewhere but I don't remember 💀 Oh and Hawks is mean in this story, sorry not sorry)
"You have to be kidding me."
There you were, standing in front of a giant glass in a warehouse. Next to you was Burnin, laughing her ass off because of how ridiculous this whole situation was. But it wasn't, not to you. To you, it was a nightmare.
Behind the glass was your boss, the number one hero, occupying most of the space with his massive form. He had been hit by a quirk on his morning patrol, and now he's a dragon.
"How..." You weren't sure what to say, stunned by the literal dragon sleeping in front of you.
"Well, Hawks told us that after their patrol he began to transform. His skin was slowly turning red, his eyes were changing form and he became bigger by the hour."
"Why aren't you worried ? Can he even transform back ?" You asked your friend, worried.
"We...We don't know. We have absolutely no information. He didn't even catch the villain." She admitted, now taking in the seriousness of the situation.
You sighed and you both left the warehouse. For now he was sleeping, and thankfully nobody in Japan knew about this except the agency.
It was difficult for everyone to get back to work. A team of sidekicks took turns watching him until he woke up. You were stuck behind your desk, thinking about what you could possibly do to help.
Truth is, the whole reason why you had been hired was because you knew Touya. You were the same age, but he was cooler than you. You both hanged out at his place most of the time, and you couldn't deny that once or twice you tried to make his father laugh with one of your jokes, to get his attention like the fool you were.
It worked, but when Touya was left for dead you took your distances from the Todorokis. Years later you'd be that funny coffee shop worker that Endeavor knew from somewhere but couldn't put his finger on how. And you planned on keeping it that way.
But one day, you fucked up.
"There you go, on the house." You said, not as cheerfully as you usually would be.
"On the house ? What's the occasion ?" Endeavor took his drink from your hands and looked at you, confused.
"It's the five years anniversary of...something important to me. I just wanted to honor it somehow." You tried to find a sketchy explanation that would work. But you still felt his questioning gaze on you.
"Five years anniversary huh ?" He said, his eyes narrowing. He was trying to figure out what it could be. You weren't wearing any ring, and coincidentally he was having the exact same five years anniversary today. Except he did nothing for it. And then his eyes widened as he looked up to your face.
"Y/N ?"
Shit, you thought. You never wore your name tag when he came around. That means he found out by himself.
"Y-Yeah, it's me..." You looked down with a guilty expression.
Surprisingly, he invited you over for old time's sake. Fuyumi cried. A lot. Shoto forgot about you and Natsuo tried to act cool but he was secretly looking forward to seeing you again.
And seeing how you managed to make his kids happy, he hired you as his personal assistant to keep you around. On paper, you had tons of responsibilities. Organizing his schedule, helping him with paperwork and managing reports of sidekicks.
In reality, you had absolutely nothing to do. You quickly realized that he already had a secretary, leaving you with almost no daily tasks. Thankfully you still went to every meetings with him and helped when he needed assistance with something.
Oh, and your paycheck was higher than his secretary's. That's why you didn't have many friends in his agency. Burnin had been kind enough to show you around on your first day and now you're friends. You think.

"Sorry, I was...preoccupied." You said, looking back at the blank sheet of paper you were supposed to write on.
"Yeah, well we're all preoccupied doll." You could sense sarcasm and a hint of annoyance in Hawk's voice.
"Leave her alone, Hawks." Burnin crossed her arms as she gave him a disapproving look. Then she looked back at you.
"He woke up, and he's pissed."
