wangxian modern au where lwj is mid-airport layover from hell and he finally sits down at the airport piano and plays [insert difficult song here]. He’s not playing for the other people in the airport, he’s playing for himself. He's never been as obvious about stress relief in his life.
At one point someone drops their bags next to him and puts together a flute in quick, familiar movements. He registers it out of the corner of his eye, feeling like his moment of enforced calm is being infringed on.
The man warms up by jumping in and out of lwj's playing, seemlessly transitioning into [insert difficult flute solo / duet].
lwj falls in love between one moment and the next.
"We're going to miss our plane!" someone yells at the man, physically tugging at his arm while grabbing his luggage off the floor.
The man's eyes meet lwj's and he grins, bright and beautiful, before disappearing into the crowd.

🎻wwx is not a classical musician but he does carry his flute around for his job. my fav headcanons include: a stand up comedian who will sometimes add sound effects, a street performer / social media star who's gimmick is street performer, a rap artist who uses it to destress but rarely plays for the public, not!lizzo, etc
🎻lwj is ready to see it as a missed opportunity, but then someone on social media recognizes wwx (has lwj made sm accounts for this? yes.)
🎻wwx begins getting tagged. he's shockedpikachu.gif over getting a msg from internationally renowned classical musician lwj, who he didn't recognize in the airport and now feels wildly feral about accidentally doing a duet with.
(i esp appreciate the headcanon that the piano isn't lwj's preferred instrument, so wwx knows who lwj is by reputation/music, but he doesn't think a lot about whether musicians like Lang Lang, Ludovico Einaudi, or Lan Wangji are hot as fire. )
