Sex-averse Jonathan absolutely sure that Martin won’t be interested anymore once he comes out to him. Not that he doubts his character in any way, he just thinks he couldn’t possibly be enough as he is. He’s made peace with it, and really it’s for the best, because everyone around him dies and he just wants Martin to be safe and happy. 

But then he tells him and it changes absolutely nothing and he’s so confused. Here is someone who genuinely loves him and he hardly knows what to do with any of this. Except he does, because he has so much love to give and he’s had nowhere to put it for so long and he’s so grateful he can give it all to Martin now.
