For those who don’t know, this ask is referencing this au post about if Midoriya got Recovery Girl’s quirk instead of One for All, All Might’s
SOME HEALER IZUKU AU HEADCANONS (because I am very tired trash and can’t write anything good right now but I’ll maybe get to some actual writing once I’m done with the other projects I have to complete but honestly everyone and their mothers are welcome to the headcanons and prompts of this)
The reason Izuku has Recovery Girl’s quirk is because there’s a quirk user she healed who could copy a quirk and pass it on to other people
She chose Izuku because she could see much of herself in him
Recovery Girl absolutely 100% didn’t think that Izuku had it in him to be a proper healer because at first he kept trying to fight off villains but she came around to the idea after she realized he would always move to protect someone first before fighting the villain
Izuku was initially disappointed about not being a hero like All Might, but came around to the idea of being a healer easily because he accidentally saw All Might in his weaker form (everything was the same except All Might had Recovery Girl with him on his way to rescue Bakugou from the slime villain in episode 1)
Due to the fact that Izuku has a superior knowledge of how a quirk works over Recovery Girl (which is an innate part of how most people work but is extremely difficult to grasp) Izuku’s healing abilities are more than double what Recovery Girl’s is
This is off set by the fact that Izuku also transfers over some of his energy to his patient, meaning that no only does the patient get tired but Izuku does as well
Yes, Izuku still has to give healing kisses to his patients and the first time he did it he fainted from shock and embarrassment
Inko is actually much happier that Izuku became a healer over a battle hero because she thinks that it’ll keep Izuku out of harms way (lmao NO)
Izuku has to have a basic understanding of how anatomy works in order for him not to put anyone in shock so that basically means he’s a certified nurse by the end of his first year (he’s nearly got a doctorate by the time he’s out of high school)
Recovery Girl ends up really liking Izuku and he ends up calling her “Granny”
Izuku learns that Recovery Granny has a massive sweet tooth and takes it upon himself to ask Satou how to cook desserts just for her
Recovery Granny may or may not spoil Izuku a little bit with how much she Izuku hands on training and healing stories when she’s never bothered with that much attention towards any of her other trainees (how have all had their own quirks)
The day Izuku simply cannot save someone for the first time, Recovery Granny knew that there was no way to save them, even with her quirk, but allowed Izuku to try anyways. Izuku still hasn’t quite forgiven her for that, even if he understands that it needed to happen someday and it was better that he went through that experience with her than without
Izuku is the on-call nurse for any times that Recovery Granny is not in Yuuei, which means he’s had to heal everything from an exploded pipe injury from the Development Department all the way to the common cold of the General Education students
Once word gets around that there’s a cutie who’ll kiss your injuries better, the school might have become a little bit more “accident prone”
The hero department is the absolute WORST
Deku Protection Squad expands to the entire three years and six total classes of Hero Department kids because Yuuei kids are nothing if not competitive and they will compete for the affections of Local Green Medical Bunny Izuku
He sticks with All Might in 1-A anyways not only because he’s still not quite given up on his dreams to be a battle hero but because All Might simply can’t get with the program and take it easy, but Izuku’s quirk allows him to transfer his energy when healing so All Might’s able to go about his day much easier than before
Izuku gives cheek kisses to Dad Might before the start of every day and it comes to the point where it’s like a European greeting it’s so natural
Izuku’s quirk works best when closer to the wound site so when the day comes that Uraraka gets punched in the mouth and needs her lip healed, well, Izuku faints right after she gets patched up good as new
Izuku has constantly wondered if he’s able to hear scar tissue (he is to an extent) and if Todoroki would like him to heal his face a little
Bakugou vehemently fights against going to Izuku for help and would rather let his sprained wrist hurt than heal (he doesn’t have a choice when it’s between sitting out of the rest of their mock battles or let Izuku heal him - he ends up scrubbing the area with soap until it’s raw but he can still feel that nerd and he hates it)
Turns out, Izuku can make Iida’s engines cool down if they heat up too much - the bad news is that his kiss just makes Shy Iida heat up again
Tsuyu gives Izuku cheek kisses back whenever he heals her because that’s what they do in her family - Izuku has learned to stop getting a head rush from her but it takes a while
Kirishima is hilariously enough the one to “protect Midoriya’s honor” the most because “a man can’t just sit by and let creeps use his quirk for their own perverted purposes!”
Mineta is not allowed near Izuku unless he’s dying
Kouda has gone to Izuku to help heal some of his animal friends and it turns out that yes, he’d make a great vet too
Izuku can’t heal Shouji the same as he can the others due to the fact that his quirk is replication - he has to tone it down A LOT or else Shouji ends up growing three more arms at the end of each tentacle because his cells replace themselves at such a ridiculous rate (he’s researching on how he can localized healing something over healing an entire body at once because of this problem)
