“Impressive” and “funny” don’t have to be opposites! This is amazing form, but it’s also clearly meant to be funny–most obviously, the dancer in the middle perfectly simulates a stiff figurine overbalancing and falls into the other dancer at the end.

So yeah, I’m laughing, because they took a classical piece that we all know (and know how the dance usually is done), turned it on its head, injected some humor, and then knocked it out of the park. The humor is part of what makes it so great! They’re taking the “highbrow” out of it, making it more accessible, and challenging the idea that classical has to be formal.

Woman who grew up on a dairy farm here. Cows LOVE music. When I was first learning to play flute, my mom would tell me to go practice in the barn so the cows could listen ( and also probably because she didn’t want to hear Hot Cross Buns for the 900th time). I would stand in the hay loft overlooking the main corral and they would all gather around and stare at me and swish their tails.

Rest is a requirement.

Trauma takes a heavy toll on the body's energy reserves. To constantly be in a state of fight, flight, fawn, freeze, to be stressed out so often and so hard, it's exhausting.

And when you're that tired, even the most minor of tasks feel like scaling a mountain.

You aren't lazy, you're struggling. You're fighting against the toll your trauma takes.

You need to let yourself rest. Rest, and don't blame yourself for needing it.
