Sun-Kissed || Jackson and Zora
When she brightened it was like the whole room lit up. Jackson couldn’t help but smile back at her, practically melting at the idea of doing anything that made her happy or proud. “A Hungarian diner sounds perfect. You just tell me what ingredients I need to get.” He handed the plates over to Zora, gesturing to the small table by the window. “Go get comfy, I’ll get the silverware and the coffee.” He could blame it on busing a lot of tables when he was younger, his ability to grab a lot of things at once and balance them while moving swiftly. The silverware clanked lightly, coffee cups made a duller sort of thud, and he put down several kinds of coffee accessories. “Don’t tell anyone but I’m a sucker for the flavored creamer,” he said in a teasing tone, scooting his chair over so that he was sitting right next to her. Breakfast wouldn’t be breakfast if he had to be so far away from her after all. “I gave you two sugars, I hope that’s enough. If not I’ll grab more.”
“I will have to look through my cook books first. Of course there are the recipes passed down, at least three of them could be-- and those are just-- oh I have so much work to do.” Zora said, her mind already racing off with the possibilities. She carried the plates over, setting them down neatly in front of their respective chairs. As she made to turn, she stopped when something caught her eye. The view from the window was beautiful in the morning light, Zora could imagine sitting there on different occasions, but more than that she could imagine sitting there with Jackson. “Your secret is safe with me. I was never fond of coffee until a friend in London introduced me to the dozens of flavors. I have not looked back.” Zora replied, adding a bit to top off her cup. “Oh yes, thank you. I am a-- as you say, ‘sucker’ for sweeter things.” She said, smiling as she took a sip, immediately nodding in approval. “Csodálatos,” Zora added, eyes flickering to Jackson as she set down her cup.
