What Gaster fell into

There's been a lot of conversation about the admittedly-vague wording of the line explaining how Gaster "fell into his creation", but I'm pretty positive it's referring to the CORE. I know it being the obvious answer is kinda boring, but there's some solid evidence for it in the code. Remember these things?

This is what they're called in the files:

Toby had the idea for Deltarune long before he started Undertale (he even teased it in the Undertale Kickstarter!), and I heavily doubt the name "darkness totem" is just a coincidence. The CORE was very likely home to the experiments described in Entry #17, and therefore the site of Gaster's...shattering? newfound omnipresence? apotheosis??

Side note: This is probably not super relevant but the overworld silhouettes of the monsters you fight in the core are labeled "spr_darkman" in the files.

They're probably named that because they're literally just in the dark, but it was worth a mention.
