&&. announcing her majesty, ( zélie lætitia de beauchêne ), the ( thirty-five ) year old ( queen consort ) of ( belgium ). she is often confused with ( lesley ann brandt ). some say that she is ( ruthless and extravagant ), but she is actually ( canny and strong-minded ).

Zélie was born a commoner, but a ridiculously rich one. Her family, the Beauchênes, are a bit like the Rothschilds in terms of fame, prestige, and just how old their money is. They began as a banking family in the 19th century (and are still heavily involved in banking and financial services) but beginning in the 20th century also diversified a great deal to include things like mass media and technology (including defense, etc.). They’re doubtlessly one of the richest families in the world, and Zélie and her siblings are all individually billionaires.

She was born with dual French and American citizenship, and had a fairly international upbringing (her family spent most of their time between Paris and New York City) and attended Harvard Business School. Although she took Belgian citizenship upon marriage, she pretty much identifies herself as French-American

Becoming royalty is an adornment, and a path to even more influence, but little else. She’s completely disinterested in conventional duties of being a queen, and instead remains in advancing her own family’s interests. Still, because of her extensive philanthropic ventures (what are a few million dollars here and there to her?) and her family’s influence in the media, she’s actually very popular, something Zélie has leveraged to her advantage.
