fun fact! I HATED my username for a little while.
when I was first making an account here on the good ol' hellsite, for some odd reason it wasn't accepting any of my names (even though the issue wasn't 'that name was taken" it would just give me some kind of error message), so I HAD to choose one of the auto-generated usernames, and because this one had "phantom" in the name (I joined tumblr because of the disney's haunted mansion fandom) I deemed it the best. I nearly used one with "crow" in the name, so in an alternate timeline maybe everyone calls me crow instead of phantom! XD

I had it as a username on something else first so I just stole it from that, but from it's original source, i wanted to make my username rat in a trench coat, because i thought it was catchy and was like a play of the typical 3 *insert creature here* in a trench coat pretending to be human, but I thought that was too long and someone already had it, so I changed it to rat in a suit, because I wanted to keep the ability to be able to shorten it to rat, which is good really because most of my online friends only call me rat lol

It's based off of my online 'aliases', Sketchy Doodles. I came up with the name a few years ago.... Liked how it sounded and fit with my art. My works aren't very clean cut or refined.. So they're sketchy doodles.

I hit the autogenerate button and it gave me a name similar to "Asmodeus" so I changed it to that. Then came time to make my IG account and I recycled the name and added "arts" because.... I was doodling :'))

I have absolutely no idea. I genuinely don't know. I woke up one day and said "damn, I should rename this if I'm gonna be actually using it" and I thought the word "Joffy" sounded funny, there's no meaning, I am a meaningless oaf who eats berries and dances in circles for the entertainment of my peers.
Also the "world" part was just because "Joffy" was taken I think? I thought "hey this will be like my own little world" and then decided "JoffyWorld" was stupid enough to make a weird sense. From there it was just Joffy"X" thing with a vague theme, so JoffyCourt is the Court of Joffy (Group account), JoffyDungeon is the horny jail, etc..
Not the coolest origin story, but it'll do. I'll make something cooler up someday. Anyway, go my scarabs!!!!!! @twooftheluckyones @dlrge @zynical-forg aaaaand @esperparade :D

The “Zynical” part doesn’t actually come from the word cynical itself, but from a song called "Cynicalture" by Frederic. I think it’s a funny song, I like it. But the reason I picked Zynical is because it sounds a bit like my name? I just swapped the “c” for a “z” and went for it.
It would’ve been more interesting if it came from Cynic philosophy, wouldn’t it? 😅 You can all pretend that’s the case if you want
