These French Dip Burgers are a tasty take on the classic French Dip sandwich. They come on toasted buns with a flavorful au jus sauce for dipping and are topped with Swiss cheese and caramelized onions.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. Salt and pepper to taste. 4 hamburger buns. 4 slices Swiss cheese. 1 onion, thinly sliced. 2 cups beef broth. 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 2 tbsp butter. 1 tbsp olive oil.
Instructions: Make 4 patties out of the ground beef that are all the same size. Add pepper and salt. In a pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Put in the patties and cook for 4 to 5 minutes on each side, or until done the way you like it. Take the patties out of the pan and set them aside. Add butter to the same pan and cook the onions for 8 to 10 minutes, until they turn caramelized. Put the patties back in the pan. Put a slice of Swiss cheese on top of every patty. Add Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, and minced garlic to the pan. Bring to a low boil, then cook until the patties are hot and the cheese is melted. Warm up the hamburger buns. Put a patty on each bun with onions that have been caramelized and cheese that has melted. Serve with au jus sauce from the pan on the side to dip the meat in.
