Silver labs aren’t pure bred, teacup is a made up designer word, “blue nose” and “red nose” aren’t breeds, and your husky is not a wolf. Have a nice day 👍

I didn’t realize silver labs weren’t purebred. I just assumed that because there are black labs, and white labs, silver would be a potential colour.

Nope, labs that are so light they sort of look white are actually still Cream/yellow, it's just a very light shade! This site has FAB info http://doggenetics.co.uk/breeding.htm :)

He's really good at finding Pokemon. There were two Eevees close by so I took him out with me to help me find them and he actually wanted to go right towards where they were! Shepherds DO love having a job...

I thought I'd do a little update because I don't post here much anymore :) I'm doing fairly well, but Boomer on the other hand...has had a major relapse in his training. I'm not entirely sure what caused it or where it went wrong but currently, we're back to basics and I'm incredibly frustrated :( I can't help but feeling like I wish I could just start over with a puppy. Sadly even if that's what needs to happen, I don't have the money because my work has been incredibly slow so I've barely been able to make money :( Basically things are just hectic and frustrating and I'm having to remind Boomer to do the simplest things like not pulling or not trying to sniff everything and if a single person says hi to him while he's on the job, he freaks the heck out :/

Hi! I made this blog to talk about my dog and reblog dog related stuff. So here’s me and my ridiculously photogenic dog, Willie Shakes after we finished his petsmart class.

I believe he’s a belgian malinois mix, but I’m not really certain what he could be mixed with. He came into the shelter as a stray so I don’t know anything about his puppyhood. He’s about a year and a half and I’m trying to get him into an agility class soon.

My name is andrew, I’m significantly less photogenic, and I work in a grooming salon. I might post pictures of some of the dogs I work with if there’s anything notable/if their owners are cool with it.

So yeah, stay tuned for me talking about my crazy dog a lot.

Northeast Dogblr Meetup 2K16

Okay so here is a very tentative update for the meetup (if other people have different suggestions/recommendations I am more than open to hearing them because I want this to be a fun experience for everyone!):

I’m assuming weekends would work best for everyone, though if not please let me know. Ideally the meetup will be 2 days to make it bit more worthwhile for anyone who is traveling long distance, so the current options are : August 6/7, or August 13/14 (August seemed like the time that worked best for everyone but can be changed if need be)

Tentative Location: Letchworth State Park, Castile, NY

Letchworth is a dog friendly (and gorgeous) state park in New York about an hour and fifteen minutes southeast of Buffalo. Dogs are allowed on the hiking trails (with a maximum 6 foot lead), but obviously not inside any buildings. I know proof of rabies inoculation is required for pets who will be camping there, though everyone bringing their pup should bring this just in case.

The only entry fee I could find is the vehicle entry fee which is $10. (If anyone plans on camping there, there will obviously be more costs associated). For more on fees and prices see here.

In the case that anyone does plan to stay the night for the second day (I am fairly certain) there are a few pet friendly hotels near the park, or you can choose to camp there as previously mentioned (which does allow dogs).

I hope everyone is as excited as @gsdlover101 and I are! Also, any and all feedback is appreciated! (and I’m sure I will have inevitably missed tagging some people, so you guys could tag those who I missed that would be fab!)

That’s about 5 ½ hours from us. We live 20/25 minutes outside Philly in NJ. If I can find a decent hotel I’m down. I don’t do camping. Lol.

Probably a Siberian Husky. I probably will get one sometime but maybe not as soon as I’d like cause I’ll soon be living in an apartment building my parents own and they can be very difficult to compromise with (about getting a higher fence and about not totally freaking out if a dog digs up a hole in the yard.. ugh :/).

But they’re so cool and funny and they can pull and they’re fluffy

Thai Ridgeback. Has been since I was a young teenager. I know what color I want and name and everything. They are so expensive and it is so hard to find a good breeder in the US. Maybe my in 25+ years dog.

My dream dogs are a Belgian Groenendael (feasible, I spoke to a breeder at Crufts who is expecting puppies next year) and a Belgian Malinois (show line is feasible too and I met the loveliest show line male at Crufts, but working line is probably too intense and high maintenence for my current lifestyle and level of experience).

Basically same^^ I really want an amazing Malinwob but man they're just so much energy and they need so much work and I can barely handle Boomer as it is on some days, so I doubt I'll ever be able to have one :/
