I think I've added around 100-200 spots on here since I heard about it. Even put some of my own trees on it that overhange sidewalks. What's great is not only does it help you identify the plant by telling you what to find where, what's in season, what to spot through wikipedia and usda plant links. But practically any free resource you can think of you can either find on here or put on here like, good dumpsters to scavenge (for food or otherwise), water fountains, community orchards/gardens, fishing spots, little libraries / pantries, even bike pumps.

Aside from the scraping, AI tech companies, including openAI/chatGPT, have outsourced training their models to countries in the global south, specifically Kenya in openAI's case. These workers are working in sweatshop conditions for less than 2 bucks USD per hour. I'm on mobile, but if you search 'openAI Kenya slave labor' and related keywords, you can find multiple articles about it.

like to be clear "i dont identify as a man or woman i identify as a threat" is a very old meme on this site i just think OP stumbled upon multiple bad implications in reformatting it.

like i understand the underlying thought. if you're not a demographic thats treated as Dangerous (poc, transfems, people w/certain mental illnesses, etc), then the idea of being scary feels like power and safety. it's the Crocodile Dundee fantasy. (someone more socialist than me might have something smart to say about the fear of strangers) puff up big and scary and the danger leaves you alone.

of course i do think maaaybe these people need to like... consider the perspective of these people and understand what actually happens when the majority sees you as a threat but you lack the institutional power to back that up. and i also think they haven't even considered how it feels to be seen as threatening to people you care about and want to be around, instead of by Stranger Shouting Slurs. i really, really hope the people uncritically reblogging that post remember it next time a transfem says she feels threatened by men including transmascs

also like. okay. in isolation the fact that this is soooooo clearly being written from a transmasculine perspective is fine. they think being seen as a woman is the worst because thats the assigned gender theyre defying.

HOWEVER

this coming in a big wave of tme nonbinary people going on and on about how terrible it is to be referred to as tme, as a "different type" of nonbinary... like understand that the perspective of this meme, where womanhood is synonymous with conformity and being seen as a threat is a playful fantasy and not something that draws in very real danger, is a dominant perspective in any queer space that does not center poc and/or transfems.

you cannot define and discuss queer and nonbinary identities in a way thay excludes transfeminized people and assumes an AFAB experience by default, and then turn around and play the victim when transfems talk about you abd your queer spaces that way. maybe try to understand that there is a very real difference between a cis person saying you're basically a woman and a transfem saying that the afab trabsmasculine perspective is the only queer perspective that matters to you.
