Help why did these become so long???
He knows what periods are. He had a girlfriend once, too, and she ALWAYS complained whenever she was on her period. It was lowkey irritating... Like, how can it be that bad?
But that was Past Ace. Present Ace has changed! Kinda...
So when he's walking with you and suddenly sees a huge red stain on your pants, his first instinct is to poke fun at it. But before he can get a joke out, he realizes that that's blood.
His eyes go wide, and suddenly he's grabbing your shoulders, steering you to the nearest restroom.
Once inside, his blushing ass tells you, "Prefect you're bleeding."
He looks down at your pants, and your face goes red. He's full of concern, though, all jokes gone from him.
"Are you okay??? Like do we need to go to the infirmary---"
You tell him that no, you're just on your period, and his eyes go wide. He probably forgets you're AFAB half the time, so remembering you also get periods is a blow to his brain. Embarrassment settles as well, making his face just as red as yours.
"O-okay well uh... Do you need me to walk you back to Ramshackle?" He's trying so hard so be chill... "You can use my jacket to like... Cover up the stain..."
You thank him, taking him up on his offer, and you two head to your dorm. On the way, Ace is oddly quiet, trying to figure out how to help you once you get to the dorm.
Finally, you arrive, and Ace has the path to your room memorized from how often him and your other friends are over. So, leading the way up there, he asks of you need him to do anything.
If you ask him to get something from Sam's, or to plug in your heating pad or retrieve an item in your room or bathroom, he will, albeit stiffly and awkwardly.
If you tell him that no, you're fine, he'll just stand there like a scarecrow, watching you after you exit the bathroom now changed and get yourself comfortable with everything you need.
Once he's done shopping for you or staring, he'll remember that this isn't his room.
"Okay, uh, I'm gonna go now... Hope you get feeling better..."
Once he's at Heartslabyual though, you'll get periodic texts from him asking if you're okay.
Again, he knows what periods are, but he's never had to deal with them firsthand before. Sure his mom's gotten them every month, and she made sure to drill into him that part of Sex Ed, but like... This has never happened to him before.
So when he suddenly sees you, with your pants stained with what he immediately knows is blood, he panics.
"Uh--Prefect---" His voice is pitched higher than usual, and he looks like you might die at any moment.
You ask what's wrong, and he immediately takes your hand and leads you to a nearby empty classroom.
"Prefect, I don't want you to panic, but there's blood on your pants."
Oh, this sweet summer child.
You realize that it's your period, having started without your notice, and now both of you are wide-eyed and sorta panicking. You tell him that, though, and it takes a moment for the words to register.
"W-wait---so... You're not actually bleeding? WAIT YOU ARE IT'S JUST NOT FROM LIKE, A CUT OR ANYTHING."
You nod, glad to have him break the tension with his accidental humor. He's still floundering, but you tell him you're going to go to Ramshackle, and he's manning up, offering to walk behind you so that nobody else sees the stain on the way there.
Once you guys get to your dorm, he makes sure you have everything you need (though he doesn't know half the things you need unless you tell him), even heading to Sam's if you need. Just tell him what to do, and he's on it!
You'll have to tell him to leave eventually, or else he won't. He wants to make sure you're alright! He won't abandon you, especially not when you're on your period!
He might even offer to stay overnight just to be 100% sure.
Another person that'll smell it before he sees it. At first, he's concerned, but then he realizes where the blood's coming from and quickly connects the dots.
While he doesn’t have much experience dealing with periods, he has a little sister who's one day gonna have periods regularly, so he learned everything he could from school and his mom.
So, he calms himself down, abruptly telling you to follow him to the nearest bathroom. Inside, he tells you gruffly that he's pretty sure your period's started, the evidence being on your pants.
At your embarrassment, he'll try to make you less flustered.
"Hey, it's a natural thing, I just don't think you want the whole school knowing."
He's so caring, you can tell, even though he's avoiding eye contact and pretending like he wasn't doing you a favor.
"Do you want my jacket to hide the stain? It won't mask the scent, but anyone with a heightened sense of smell will just think you got cut or something."
You accept the offer, grateful for him as you two head out of the bathroom.
"Before we go to your dorm, do you need anything from the Mystery Shop?"
If you do, he'll offer to get whatever you require while you head to the dorm. If not, then he'll walk with you there.
If he's walking with you, he makes sure to stay close. If he's shopping for you, he'll try to be as quick as he can, full on sprinting to Ramshackle when he's done.
He'll give you your privacy, letting you change while he's outside the room, and only go in after he's knocked or you've given him the OK.
He'll offer to help you plug in the heating pad, get your painkillers, anything you need him to do before he heads out. For just a bit, the uncaring facade slips, showing his concern and care for you.
Once he has nothing left to help you with, he'll be on his way, but not before telling you to text him if you need anything.
He was raised in a small town where 75% of his interactions came from old women.
Yeah he's had a lot of talks about periods and menopause and stuff. He could probably recite a bunch of facts about menstruation if he put his mind to it. He recognizes it's a natural process of some people's bodies, he's not gonna judge.
He just doesn't want others making you feel like shit because of it, so he'll make sure to get your attention and whisper the problem to you.
He gets why you're embarassed, but there's no time for that. Just trust him.
He'll give you his jacket, tying it around your waist for you in the middle of the hall, and start leading you towards your dorm immediately.
"I don't want no jerks givin' ya shit because your pants are stained," he says once you two are outside. You appreciate the thought, but how is he walking so fast???
You get to Ramshackle in no time, being led by determination if it were a person.
He won't even ask you what you need once you're at the dorm. He's man enough to know damn near exactly what a person needs on their period, and he'll waste no time getting said things.
He'll even go down to Foothill Town if you need him to.
He'll stay by your side until he's certain you're comfortable, changed, and not embarrassed anymore.
One of his main add-ons from Idia is to detect and help with medical situations. While a person being on their period isn't really a medical issue, he can still recognize that you bleeding through your pants because you're menstruating can be embarrassing for you.
He'll be floating by, when his sensors detect blood on your person, specifically on your lower half, indicating you're on your period.
So he goes up to you, making sure to lower his volume as he tells you what he's noticed. He can detect your heart rate increasing, and your face getting redder, so he assures you it's a common thing to happen to people with your reproductive organs, even if the stain is embarrassing.
"And I can assist you in any way you need me!" he adds, still quiet.
He can't offer you anything to cover up the stain, but he can act as a bodyguard while you head to your dorm to change.
Once you two get to the dorm and you head to the bathroom to change, he'll be hivering around, gathering anything he thinks may be useful to you from the data he collected on the way here. The internet is full of great tips for helping someone on their period!
Once you're done, he'll make a quick run to Sam's just to make sure you have everything you should need. You can't even thank him or say no before he's off, and a few minutes later he's back with snacks, more painkillers, and suggestions for hygiene products.
He'll offer to stay or leave once you're settled, whichever you prefer!
While I'm not entirely sure if his sister would get periods, because she's half human but also half crocodile fae, Sebek would be well-educated about periods. Some fae species that come from mammals menstruate, so he'd have probably learned about it in school or from his family, or both. Though, he's probably had very little experience with them due to his heritage and being at an all-boys school.
Even so, his priority upon seeing anybody in need would be to help them. It's a knight's duty, after all, and who is he if not the best knight to his Liege?
He'd probably smell the blood first, thanks to his fae heritage, but he would double-check to make sure his suspicions of an injury were correct.
And while they weren't, he would still realize the predicament after a moment, and get your attention in the only way he knows how.
He crosses the hallway over to a very confused you, and being the un-subtle person he is, yells, "YOU ARE BLEEDING. LET ME ASSIST YOU."
Now everyone passing by has noticed you two, along with the stain on your pants that you've just realized the existence of. Your face goes cherry-red, while Sebek remains unfazed, taking your hand and leading you to a bathroom.
At your irritation and embarrassment, Sebek is only confused. He has assisted you and made sure you were privy to the stain on your pants; why would you be so angry at him, or embarassed?
To your further annoyance, he yells, "THERE IS NOTHING TO BE ASHAMED OF, HUMAN. IT IS A NATURAL PROCESS."
That still doesn't erase all the stares you just endured, but whatever. He doesn't see why you value the opinion of others so highly, but offers to lend you his jacket to hide the stain until you reach your dorm.
You tease him by asking if he's not gonna guard you the way there, and a blush appears on his face.
It's the knightly thing to do, so of course! He'll walk your fragile person to your dorm, ensuring that no one bothers you in the meantime. He wouldn't want to bring shame to Malleus' great name by denying you that service.
You can barely keep up with him, though, so by the time you get to Ramshackle, you're tired and still slightly irritated.
He's not that much help in getting you the things you need either, but at least he asks if there's anything you require after you've changed. He'll follow your orders, within reason, but only this once! This will not be a monthly occurrence.
Still, he's hesitant to leave once you're comfortable, double and triple-checking you have everything you said you needed.
