What an amazing experience tonight @uninterruptedca immersed into the life cycle of our #bcwildsalmon. It's a reminder that we are not the only ones with struggles in life. Mad respect goes out to the gift of wild salmon. I am grateful to have in my backyard now, Stoney Creek, one of the most important fish bearing streams in the Brunette River Watershed. The fun about going to the farmer’s market is trying out new vegetables for the first time. This is #kohlrabi, part of the brassica/cruciferous vegetables family, similar to broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower. Kohlrabi has more #vitaminC than cauliflower, orange, grapefruit and strawberries. As you may have guessed, kohlrabi helps to fight cancer, protect against cardiovascular diseases and helps to prevent Diabetes. You can eat this fibre-rich vegetable raw, in a salad, or cooked, in a stir fry or roasted. I decided to blend it up and mix it in with roasted sockeye salmon fish balls I made yesterday.
