I recently worked on a series of Corporate Head-Shots for legal firm Walton&Co. Really happy with how these turned out and enjoyed the opportunity to do something a little different and widen my commercial portfolio. As wedding season eases off a little it’s back to doing bits of commercial work, commissions and family photography. Here’s a little snipped of a promotional shoot I did recently with Beale Heating Services. If you’re somewhere in Teesside and need a boiler or radiator fixing, he’s the man to go see.

Grace and I collected the keys to our new home this week. It was a surreal feeling to finally own our very own place. The house is a bit of a project (to say the least) so the drawing up of jobs was a daunting prospect. Add that to the fact that it’s the height of Wedding season for myself and it’s going to be a busy summer as we strip everything back and start again. Despite all that, it’s going to be an exciting adventure as we get to create a place in our very own mould. I wanted to take the opportunity to grab a portrait of Grace and myself in our new home on the first day before any work started. I’m hoping to do a series of these types of portraits as work commences and the house goes through various stages of completion. Giving me an inspiring project to keep me going when it inevitably gets tough. Let the new chapter commence!!

Last year I started shooting a small number of Family, Children and Baby Bump photo's after a request from close friends for some pictures with their kids.

With a small bit of promotion and some word of mouth I ended up doing a number of shoots which were really enjoyable.

One such shoot was during Lucy's pregnancy where we documented the journey over a number of sessions from 6 months to birth. I love this portrait of Lucy the most, with it's mix of natural and studio light, which works great in a Black & White finish.

I'm wanting to showcase more work from these Family and Baby sessions over the next couple of weeks as I try and raise the profile of this side of my work.

At the back end of February I returned to Sindey + Matilda to shoot opening night for their ‘Flat Earth’ exhibition. The night was a success with plenty of attendees and interest in work from local to national artists.

A little snipped from the press release says: “Flat + Earth approaches landscape painting with a sideways glance, taking conventions unaware, at once celebrating and undermining them.” 

The exhibit is still open until the end of the week (15th March) and is another great curation put together by this Sheffield based art collective.

At the beginning of February I was invited to shoot an event in Manchester for lifestyle blogger Jess Cunningham aka ‘Mother of Maniacs’. The event ‘Social Success’ was all about championing women and their entrepreneurial businesses, online and on social media. The event featured well known Social Influencers such as Sally Fazeli, Noor Hibbert and Sophie Lilley talking about their experiences as Bloggers, Vloggers, Lifestyle guru’s, how they achieved their goals and got their blogs and businesses into the public eye. Along with the talks a q&a session offered help to other aspiring women wanting to make their mark.

Last port of call for myself in 2018 was covering opening night of the Sidney & Matilda Art Exhibition - Bethlehem Boys Club. Featuring local and international artists, last nights preview was a success. The exhibition is open until Christmas Eve and definitely worth checking out. For more info: sidneyandmatilda.com

I recently covered Outside The Box Cafe’s 5th Birthday Celebrations at Kings Hall & Winter Gardens making this little promotional video. OTB do great work in the community to help people with learning difficulties into employment. It was great to document the event, leaning all about what they do and the positive effect it has on the people it supports. Enjoy! ❤️🧡💜

|| SASSOON SOIRÉE COLLECTION - WINNERS 2018 ||

I’m absolutely over the moon to announce my work with Sassoon Leeds received 1st Place at the Sassoon Academy Awards. Everyone involved in the shoot did an amazing job and I can’t thank the team at Sassoon Leeds enough for our continued relationship and the hard work everyone put in to achieving this stunning collection.

⚽🏆 ENGLAND VS. COLOMBIA @ KICKOV FANZONE - HIGHLIGHTS ⚽🏆

I was at Kickov Sheffield again on Tuesday covering the England vs. Colombia game and what a game it was!!

This time I did a bit of Videography to showcase the event and all the drama that unravelled. Let's hope we can do it all again tomorrow and reach the Semis.

I had a great time on Sunday covering Kickov Festival at Abbeydale Picture House, Sheffield for the England vs. Panama game. With England winning 6-1 there was a great party atmosphere with plenty of photo-ops for goal celebrations and to capture jubilant supporters. Here’s a collection of some of my favs.

The latest video I made for Colour of Spring that premiered earlier this month over on Earmilk.

Originally supposed to be a ‘one-take’ video. It was harder than we anticipated to keep filming while riding a contraption that was pulling me along on the back of a bicycle. In the end we made a number of cuts in the edit, but feel that perhaps that was a blessing in disguise and gave the video more of a lighthearted and entertaining narrative than fist thought.

After building up a portfolio of promotional music videos with Leeds band Colour of Spring it was great to be asked by another Leeds band, Crumbs if I would like to shoot the video for their latest single ‘Weasels Can Wait’.

Of course I jumped at the chance. It was great to work with someone new, with a different aesthetic and different set ideas and different personalities.

Every time I make a new video I love the process more and more and with a new video section going up on the re-build of my website, I’m hoping I’ll get more opportunity to continue with this aspect of my work.

My latest music video for Colour of Spring is now premiering over on Clash Music. It's been great to build up a portfolio of music videos with these guys, which has opened doors to working with other artists, which is really exciting! With the website currently under development and a massive overhaul taking place it'll be great to get a dedicated 'video' section sorted to showcase my videography work. Watch this space..... Also a big shout out to my sis Kim and family friend Stine for letting me use their adorable daughters. Enjoy!

Political opinions aside, when the leader of a major political party comes to do a rally at your local watering hole (The Brudenell Social Club) it a good opportunity to get some photos.

However, I don’t think anyone could have ever expected such a huge turnout, or for the amazing reception Mr. Corbyn received as crowds grew so big the rally went from inside the Social Club, into the car park and then onto the street.

Hopefully this collection of images manages to capture the scale of the event.

It’s been a couple of weeks since Grace and I returned from our Honeymoon to South East Asia visiting Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam and it’s still sinking in what was a truly wonderful experience it was.

I couldn't recommend this area of the world enough. Grace and I were totally enchanted by the stunning scenery, the friendliest people and the rich culture.

We wished we never had to leave!
