It has crawled out of the void. It is lost. It knows nothing. It only knows how to ascend. It has ascended to where ancient rocks dwell and a ruin rests.
And it has found a strange device. It does not know how to use the device or how the device works. Nor does it know what these “pharloomblr” or “Hallowblr” are. It will struggle with these for a while, but persist in the end. It did not survive the impossible just to struggle for the rest of its life.

*Their face scrunches in confusion. Breathing still ragged, they glance around, looking for their companion and possessions, but never looking away from Hermes for more than a few seconds.*

This is the Sanctum of the Scholars of Hallownest, and hospital.
And no, we are no longer harvesting innocent bug's soul anymore.

*They begin to calm down, standing up and moving to a side table with their backpack.*
"S-Sorry about that, i-its just that last time I w-was in Hallownest, they s-still were doing so. I h-haven't been back in s-some time. When did it ch-change?"
About 3 months ago, i turned it into a hospital in some way to repay the dept that we owe the people, including the death and suffering i caused.
*They nod, their breathing beginning to even out. They reach into their bag and remove a few plant bundles, checking labels before grabbing one and popping it into his mouth. His shoulders slump a bit in relief.*
"N-Now, where is my c-companion?"
No idea, they kinda wandered off when we got here.
I'm gonna request that you and your friend stay here until it is safe.
"O-Ok, yeah."
*They make their way back to the hospital bed and sit on the edge before pausing and turning back to Hermes.*
"W-What is going on, exactly? What w-was that screaming and that a-announcement?"
There is a monster roaming the city, it is currently being fought, so i recommend staying here.
"O-Oh, Um, ok. Thank you for h-having us."
*And with that, they begin to search for their companion.*

It pokes its head down from one of the upper chambers with a glass roof. It seems to have found a charm. Said charm is the Spell Twister charm. It looks down to Hermes and its companion, having been following the larger bug from up above and listening to where it went.
*They don't see them for a while, searching the lower areas first, but eventually glancing up and spotting them.*
Their face scrunches in confusion again "H-How did you manage to get up there?"
It double-jumps and then barely lands in a platform higher up before choosing to fall all the way back down. It then repeats the process, getting back up to where it was before falling down again.
*Their eyes widen at the multi-jump. Once the vessel falls down the second time, they grab its shoulders and spin it around to look at them*
"You h-have wings?!"
In lieu of wings, its companion finds four semi-transparent vines where wings would be. The vines look like they’ve adapted to embed themselves in surfaces and platforms above the vessel, launching forward when it attempts to jump midair. The vessel starts squirming a bit, trying to be put down.
"O-Oh, sorry!"
*They put it down, but their curiosity has been piqued.*
"Are they n-natural? What k-kind of plants are they? C-Can you feel s-sensation through them? Do you have f-full control over them? How s-strong are they?"
*They are more excited than you have ever seen them as they ask question after question.*
It tries to dreamnail itself fast enough to answer the questions, but it seemingly can’t do so. However, it can answer the first five.
“Yes. Parts of it, so whatever plant it is. It can. It does. Its vines are very strong.”

"Y-Yeah, l-lets go!"
*They grab their companions hand and hurry towards the building.*
It forces the doors of the sanctum open, using its saw-like needle to break through it, right as the lumiflies in front of a sign grow brighter to illuminate the place, now identified as Soul Sanctum.
It dreamnails itself.
“This place seems… nice. What is it?”
It pauses for a second, then dreamnails itself again.
“ …What did that word it said mean? Nice?”
*It don't get a response. It turns to look at its companion to see their eyes are locked on the sign. Their breathing is ragged, eyes wide. They've heard of the Soul Sanctum before. And they know what took place here.*
"W-W-We, c-can't... W-We'll d-d-d-"
It points to the only other potentially available building being a tower halfway across City of Tears with an obviously “Would you rather risk something happening while we try to get to THAT?”
*Their breathing remains heavy, but they swallow their fears and attempt to stand tall.*
"Y-you're right. W-we should be fine as l-long as we stay h-hidden."

*The duo has made it to the hollow knight memorial. The backpack wearing one is reading the plaque, thinking back to the structure they passed back when they started their decent into the kingdom.*
They turn to their companion; "Does this mean anything to you?"

It stares at the memorial, not knowing what it is or anything about it, just that it feels an odd kinship with the statue in the middle. It decides to climb up the memorial to figure out why that is.
It finds a dreamnail nearby the statue when it scampers up onto the memorial, and decides to take it with. Not like the statue has any use for the thing.
It shows its companion the dreamnail when it climbs back down.
