Whenever I become obsessed with a character I have got to do an expression sheet for them (pls enjoy a bonus Michael) as I figure out what unique features I love about their face. I absolutely love Ali's expressive David, even as a huge fan of the more reserved movie David. I am still trying to figure out wtf his hair is doing and what direction it moves in though, but bless that easy hairline.

Also whoever decided to put that iridescent shimmer or highlighter on David's face is a gd genius. His cheekbones and the beauty mark on his left cheek hungers for the light (Ali's best side is his left side obvi).

Groundhog Day musical post got me thinking time loop thoughts, and who’s most devastating when they’re the one at the center of it:

- STAR: She’s been in the loop so long she is EXHAUSTED. She just wants to put it all down and give up, but she can’t. She judges every loop by how many people she manages to keep from hurting, but so far hasn’t managed to get out without SOMEONE dying. She is terrified that the cycle of violence beyond her control is what’s keeping her in.

- MICHAEL: If breaking this loop means he actually has to kill, and prove his worst fears right and that he’s just like his dad after all, he will never face that. He’s going to try and fight every way he can to find a way out, short of that. And he well spend several loops trying to fight all of the boys together, just to prove to himself that he can (results: inconclusive). But giving up isn’t his style.

- DAVID: every loop ends with his death. He can’t seem to figure out how to change things so he doesn’t die. And he will keep insisting to himself that THAT is the key, since he secretly suspects just letting Michael and Star go would set them all free. And he’d actually rather die every single day than face a future where he never sees them again.
