I'm sorry if you get this a lot, but how likely are we to see another pure Black aligned protag? Dipping into White seems to be the thing now for anyone who starts putting effort into more moral pursuits.
Okay well, if you’re defining “protagonist” as “someone who puts effort into moral pursuits” then yeah, no, that’s just not monoblack. Black by itself sees morals as silly constraints that white-aligned people put on themselves. Black only acts in ways that others consider “moral” if those ways just happen to line up with its own goals anyway.
But if you mean “can a monoblack character be a central, focal character of a story again someday”? Then yeah, I should hope so. We’ll get to see Liliana’s origin story in a couple months as part of Magic Origins, for example, and she’s the main character of her origin. :)
