Bisexuals can like women, non-binary and men for different reasons. You can prefer whatever gender pleases you the most. It doesnât make you any less bisexual. Just because gender doesnât play a role in our attraction doesnât mean we canât have a preference.
non-binary peopleâs choice to use or reject binary language is personal, unique & does not have to be all or nothing.
non-binary people are allowed to use binary language to describe themselves, whether or not they are aligned with that binary gender.
non-binary people are allowed to have a complex relationship with self-descriptors & identifying language, and having an unconventional relationship with gendered language does not give anyone permission to misgender or mislabel them.
non-binary peopleâs relationship to language is unique, valid, and deserves respect.
Using âAFABâ to talk about like, the experience of being subjected to misogynistic standards because some afab trans people are held to them is fucking bad actually.
âAFAB chests are censored on-â ok but this standard isnât an âAFABâ thing, anyone whoâs AMAB and has boobs is gonna be held to the same thing.
Fuck off with this faux inclusivity.
Yes some non-women face misogyny. If your way of understanding this is to search+replace any mention of âwomenâ with âAFABsâ your inclusivity is transmisogynistic, incoherent garbage.
So I just heard about âPrimed: The Back Pocket Guide for Trans Men and the Men Who Dig Them.â Itâs the first sexual health resource written by and for gay, bi and queer trans men/ transmasculine people, put out by Rainbow Health Ontario, and itâs a very frank guide that answers basically any questions you might have about safer sex. Theyâve released it for free download here.
A similar guide geared towards trans women/ transfeminine people (though not really sexual orientation specific) is âBRAZEN: Trans Womenâs Safer Sex Guide.â

Jen Richards in Disclosure (Sam Feder, 2020)
This documentary is really hard to watch at times but so so so necessary especially for people looking to be a better ally. Listen, learn, and try to show up better for the trans community
Girl (2018)
There are many resources online about the dangers of binding for FTM guys, but far fewer that address the dangers of tucking.
This film, based on the youth of trans dancer Nora Monsecour and made in collaboration with her, features a young trans girl character tucking with tape in order to pass as a young woman. It is good to see that a film is drawing attention to MTF struggles, and the daily practice of flattening your groin, which can sometimes be very painful.
As an alternative to tape or bandages, I would recommend LeoLines underwear, available through Etsy. There are many reviews by trans women who recommend LeoLines panties and padded bras, and the underwear is so cleverly designed that many women report not even needing to tuck beneath the panties. (Also, as the designer of these products is a trans woman, all the marketing is aimed at trans women, and not crossdressers.)
>
Please do not flag this post. It is an educational post, intended for transgender girls who may watch this film and be encouraged to tuck unsafely. It is not explicit.
From the perspective of a trans woman whose closet friend is a trans man, I found this post to be extremely valuable information to have.
Very glad you found this post helpful, friend! Iâm a transgender man myself, and I have noticed that many online resources are directed at FTM guys like me, whereas information about tucking for trans women is pretty rare to see shared on trans blogs. I canât speak from experience, but I do want to put in the effort to support my trans sisters :)Â

trans holiness: your name is a prayer. your scars come from battles you waged and won. your pronouns are a devotion, an utterance, you are the oracle and this is your being.
I remember in middle school and high school before I went on HRT I would have bouts of depression over the idea of leaving the house and being perceived as a gender I wasnât or of being misgendered/outed to other people (as I was still stealth at the time). So yeah, I agree. I never see people talking about it and itâs a very real and alienating experience.Â
