There's something special about a whumpee getting literally thrown in the trash. It's both physical whump, since they're presumably too injured or weak to get out of the trash, and a way for a whumper to symbolically illustrate that they are completely worthless. (Or they can throw themself in the trash, if you prefer!)
It's probably easiest to make this effective in genres where the whumpee is both considered subhuman (or sub-whatever-else) and is legally considered property - a tool, a weapon, a pet, an android, etc. - but it can work in any setting with a bit of modification.
I ended up writing a lot more for this than I had planned >:) enjoy!!
(Content- discarded/abandoned whumpee, leg injuries, rope, embedded injury)
Caretaker works at the place whumpee was discarded at. The next morning during their opening shift, they go to throw away a bag of trash that the closing team had forgotten about. They opened the lid to the dumpster, not really paying attention- more thinking about the long list of things they had to do next.
As they leaned down to pick up the garbage bag and toss it inside, a quiet whine snapped them back to reality. They cautiously peered down inside. They had seen raccoons in the trash, squirrels, possums, once even a pet lizard someone had dumped. This was none of those... a person looked up at them, blinking away the bright sunlight. They were curled defensively in the corner of the dumpster, with eyes shining bright with tears as they looked up at caretaker with a heartbreaking mixture of hope and fear. Caretaker was stunned. They stood in incredulous silence for a few moments, then cleared their throat and said,
"Um... do you want to be in there?" Whumpee shook their head frantically in response. "Okay, can you stand? I'll help pull you out." The dumpster wasn't too deep, but still a pain in the ass to get out of. They had learned that the hard way messing around with their friends once. Whumpee looked a bit frightened, but tried to pull themselves to their feet. In doing so caretaker saw the ropes tied so tightly around whumpees legs that the blood from fighting against them had covered parts of the rope, skin trying to grow over it. The atrophied muscles in their calves shook, and whumpee struggled to stay upright; pulling themselves up on the wall of the dumpster. Caretaker caught their hand just before they slipped from the grime. They pulled whumpee up and out of the dumpster, which was difficult even though whumpee was so light.
Whumpee immediately sprang up and tried to run, only to fall over just as quickly as they had gotten up. Fresh blood welled up from the damaged tissue in their legs. Caretaker instantly went to their side, noting the new scrape on their forehead. Whumpee cringed away and timidly raised their hands a bit, looking like they expected caretaker to hit them.
Caretaker sighed anxiously. This is not at all what they had expected today. Looks like they would be opening late again.
