Finished project!!

Finished these comfy socks while catching up on CR (and waiting on a Formula 1 race to start).

Yarn: Botter Ijsselmuiden Oslo

Needles used: Addi CraSy Trio 4mm

I've just started episode 33 of Campaign 2, and I was so happy we got to meet Marion Lavorre, finally. She's so amazing!! Can't wait to see what mischief they'll be up to in Nicodranas. Also, though I LOVE Molly, Caduceus is amazing too! And Taliesin seems very happy to play him, so that's good. The whole encounter in the Wuyun Gorge was such a great character moment!

Next project: hopefully more socks, this time for my mum?

Essek would probably take up all sorts of new hobbies. It would be so cute if he took up knitting and made clothes for all his friends. But especially because Caleb likes to wear the kind of clothes you can knit(sweaters and scarves). And of course Essek would be able to weave magic into the things he creates.

Just imagine Caleb strolling up to the Academy for his first day as a professor and he’s wearing a knit sweater that Essek made. No matter if Essek is currently in hiding or if he is at their home, Caleb will always have something that Essek made for him on him. The amount of scarves Essek would be able to knit for him. Essek wrapping a scarf around Caleb as he heads off to work and it’s imbued with magical enchantments to keep him safe. Maybe it has some Kryn elements in the design too.

The idea that Caleb probably became so good at fire magic because he was trying to keep him, Eadwulf, and Astrid warm in that tower. And Trent took that magical prowess born out of love and twisted into a weapon to destroy that which Caleb loved. And then over the years with the M9, it’s Caleb’s magic that kept them safe and warm with both the hut and tower. And now it’s Essek’s turn to keep Caleb safe and warm. And not just through magic, but by crafting something by hand and with so much love and care.

Update

So it’s been a while since I posted anything here and I think I’m going to change things up a bit.

In the lockdown last year (March/April 2020) I discovered DnD, but more important, I discovered Critical Role. I immediately fell in love with this bunch of nerdy ass voice actors. Their happiness and friendship helped me throughout this weird year and a half. I knit and crochet a lot during CR, since it helps me focus on the story even more. I started campaign one, finishing it on 8 July 2021, and loved every second of it. I have now started campaign 2, and I am currently on episode 20. A lot of things have been spoiled for me already, but I don’t mind, since it makes me look forward to those episodes even more, and it takes away some of the nerves of not knowing what will happen. For Talks Machina, I am currently on C1e108, since I was desperate to finish the campaign as it got closer to the end fight. I usually spin yarn during Talks, since I need a bit more attention for spinning.

I however wish to share my CR themed knits/crochet/yarns with people, because I love creating, but I can’t draw/cosplay/make gifs for shit. I won’t be making any CR dolls or anything like that, since I am shit at amigurumi, but I have noticed that my WIPs over the last year have been more CR coloured or themed. And besides that, Pumat is a knitter so I bet he’d be proud to see more knitting critters!

Just finished the panda hat for a tumblr-less friend her birthday. The pattern for the eyes was original for intarsia, but I did it in duplicate stitch. I hope she likes it!!

Hello crochet people of tumblr!

My mum gave me a beautiful skein of Scheepjes Whirl and a ring to make a mandala for it, but I am having trouble finding an easy pattern. I’m ok at crochet, I can manage most basic stitches, but some of these patterns are so complicated, and it’s quite a thin yarn too. Any suggestions?

It’s blocked and finished! So proud!! By the end, I had 471 stitches on my needles, so I felt a little relieved when it was done.

Finally, after knitting for more than six hours with only short breaks: it’s finished!!! I was so eager to get it finished (thanks hyperfocus). Only need to find the right washing liquid before blocking it and then sewing in the ends and it’s done!

I have never ever been so proud of my knitting in my life.

Day 3 and Day 4 NaKniCroMo: Craft Corner and WIP Wednesday!

Currently, my craft corner is everywhere. I have a basket next to my couch with WIPs, stray balls of yarn, everything. Besides that I have yarn in a cabinet in my living room, as well as knitting needles and crochet hooks. Most of those are however neatly organised in a sewing box on my coffee table. I have a huge study/hobby room, but since I still haven’t cleaned that up properly, it is not ready to be my craft room yet. I hope to make it an awesome cosy place where I can organise all of my hobbies.

Today I have been working on my sock, realising that I was closer to finishing it than I thought! So my evening was spent on the couch watching series about the War of the Roses and watching Champions League soccer whilst finishing it! Now giving my arms some rest before continuing another project on my goals list tomorrow.
