why are you microwaving carbonated drinks that feels wrong.
IDK, most people hate it, but I'm also the person that purposely lets coke go flat because I like it better flat so me and carbonated drinks have a weird relationship.
(FDA source)
microwaving aluminum specifically is known to cause arching, which can cause fires! (thick aluminum is fine, but thin aluminum like aluminum foil, and I assume the edge of an opened can is Not)
on top of that microwaving liquids can be dangerous as they get hot extremely quickly.
just search "microwave aluminum foil" on YouTube if ur curious lol
Ah. That would explain the popping sound. I assumed that was just my microwave being old. Good to note I shouldn't do that in the future.

my mom just had a 7cm brain tumor removed and since she's woken up she's been talking nonstop about this dream she had about going to an art gallery full of colourful paintings by a 'homosexual artist' named klimsdorf who was ethereal and wise, both young and old... at first she was convinced he was a real person but after failing to find him online she's accepted he was a figment of her subconscious mind and is now determined to bring him to life via painting his portrait herself. she's 67 and has never drawn in her life. and now this. blorbo from her tumor

āAll of us donāt have the same eyesā is my key takeaway here. This is 100 percent correct.
Carhops in Dallas, Texas 1940
In the 40s, women carhops had discovered their tips could increase by up to $25 a week, about $460 in todayās money, if they wore significantly revealing costumes. One offended woman in Texas complained to theĀ Fort Worth Star āwe women are sick of looking at girlsā legs; weād rather look at menāsā in an effort to force a change in womenās uniforms. Instead a local drive in responded by hiring āfour husky young men⦠in blue shorts, white sweaters, and fancy cowboy bootsā to serve women at the drive through. (source)
Judging by the picture? Very positively.
CNN: Watch an orca ram a sunfish so hard that the fish explodes
Thank you CNN for this hard-hitting journalism. Show me the fish exploding.
Scientists captured video of orcas ramming into sunfish with such force that the fish exploded. The behavior may be for fun as well as for f

I'm just saying, if you're going to worldbuild magic being a "raw, primal force, akin to and interweaving with nature itself" you gotta explain to me why animals don't use it
I know the normal answer is "they just aren't smart enough for it" but idk I've seen enough media where a character uses a spell in a moment of brain-off panic ilI feel like animals could probably stumble into a spell or two like, accidentally
Also how funny would it be to see a completely normal regular bear cast magic missile outta nowhere
Also there is no way ravens wouldn't figure out spells, tbh
They're smart fuckin birds, I believe in them
Either through observing or just figuring shit out ravens could 100% learn how to cast spells I'm sure of it
Dogs can also cast Magic Missile but every time they do the projectile is shaped like a bone or a stick and they chase after it
group of wizards who ask this in-universe, and after extensive study learn to their surprise that animals are casting spells all the time, just that their magic is so fundamental as to be unrecognizable to humans. turns out the only reason acorns grow on trees is because squirrels keep wishing for them.
Is this a horrible thing with legs or...a horrible thing with fingers? Or just a horrible thing?
Thatās cephalopharyngeal, a word which ought to help. Thank you so much for thinking of me!
Wouldnāt it be cephalophlangi? Since fingers are phalanges, and pharynx is the throat
Ooooh yeah, thatās better as an accurate description - but no, it still needs the
š¤ flow
How do we feel about cephalodactyl? And we can use phalanges for āphalangipod.ā Cephalodactyl phalangipod. How do we feel about that
The Greek prefix for "hand" is "chiro", so perhaps it is a chirocephalic pentapod, or maybe a pentapodactyl cephalochiroid?
I like āpentapodactylā tremendously!!! but hate āchiroā in this context, and I donāt know why. Obviously I have no authority to be the arbiter of this but I do feel strongly!!
Thereās a gorgeous rhythm to:
Cephalopharyngeal pentapodactyl monstrosity of the alarm
@elodieunderglass I'm curious how you pronounce "Cephalopharyngeal" - my instinct is to pronounce the opening as a dactyl, like in "cephalopod", i.e. "SEF-uh-lo", but the scansion of that line feels better to me if it's an amphibrach, i.e. "suh-FAL-lo"
The Cephalobrachial Pentapodactylus! Palmate monstrosity of the alarm! The sesquipedalian's best pernoctalian psuedo-mammalian hand without arm!
This maniform, bursiform, digital deep-dweller drifts through the darkest demersal domains, A five-footed fingerling phantasm floating full fathoms afloor from the foam-freckled main!
It hunts with its quick hyponychial cnidocytes fully envenomed and ready to kill! If nocuous toxicants don't cause cessation its rostriform mandibles certainly will!
By ripping and rending, it ruptures its rations with razorlike radulae housed in its jaw; Its great glabrous grub-grippers gather the gobbets to go in its ventropharyngeal maw!
The Cephalobrachial Pentapodactylus seldom comes skyward while it's still alive, But sometimes some singular specimen surfaces, stalking the shore like a deadly high-five,
So if you should witness, in perambulation, gressorial fingertips roaming the sands, I beg you, consider this simple hortation: observe from a distance, and do not shake hands!
There's something kinda funny about how RWBY just absolutely refuses to die despite a constant stream of adversity. The first season was objectively hot garbage but it still got a second season. The creator of the series whose passion project the whole thing was passed away in a freak accident after the second season but they just kept going without him and somehow a significant portion of the fanbase went along for it. The budget got slashed in Season 5 because of gross mismanagement but no worries! The fans stuck with it and they got it back for Season 6. Then a few seasons later the entire company that's been producing it went completely tits up and we all assumed THAT would be the end but nope!!! They got bought by Viz. RWBY has now outlived both the man who dreamt it up and the company that produced it. In an era where numerous streaming shows get axed after one or two seasons despite being critical successes with large fanbases it is completely baffling that a show that is so consistently troubled and infamously has an extremely mixed reception cannot be fucking ended despite all indications to the contrary. It truly is femslash Supernatural
guess what just got greenlit for a 10th season, 2 years after OP's post

My absurd personal theory about why yawns are contagious: nothing to do with āsocial bonding.ā Itās a last-ditch mechanism for knackered caretakers to hypnotise their (still active) dependents into feeling sleepy.
If youāre nodding off, out of control, tired beyond your ability to provide care, but still need to actively supervise someone who is EMPHATICALLY NOT SLEEPY, you have one final spell to draw on. Spell of Contagious Sleep Trigger.
I admittedly wrote this - not from a scientific perspective, pondering upon mirror neurons and social behaviour - but from the position of a parent on very little sleep, so the citation here is going to be ātruth passed to me through the thin veil by ancestorsā. If you wish to test this scientifically - and why not! - please do cite them. Iām very tired
Citation needed (yawning too much to find sources) but if this post got you to yawn, then we are clearly kin, and we are working together to create a sleepy spell over
MY WRETCHED CHILD
Thank you for lending me your aidā¦. Rohan is answeringā¦. š„±
when we started talking about getting a small-breed dog I was like, "I will NEVER turn into one of those people who treats their little dog like a doll or an accessory by forcing them to dress up in ridiculous outfits. Dogs HATE that. They should get to be DOGS, and that means not having to wear anything but a HARNESS and being FREE to ROLL in the MUD." and then I adopted a dog who throws a fit if you try to take him for a walk without letting him pick out a bow tie first. a dog who loves wearing pajamas so much that I'm about to spend a disgusting amount of money on several sets of linen ones for summer. a dog who watches me wave at him to follow me through a mud puddle and just stands there blinking up at me like, "are you fucking serious? and get my paws wet?"
me: I will raise him no differently than the two 80-lb labs I had growing up. absolutely no hoity-toity frou frou little yapyap dog stuff. he's gonna be a good ol' fashioned, rough-and-tumble, capital D-O-Gā
