love how when i get a new interest, i’m like “oh god it’s happening again” and i’m stuck like that for about a week until everything explodes and any interest i’ve had prior is completely dwarfed for an unknown amount of time
like this
shoutout to everyone who’s sharing the interest that has caused their category 7 autism event. we are all whirling around in our autism events together
Imagine if the media hyped up the Greens nearly as much as they do One Nation. The Greens have consistently been the third largest political group in Australia, often have had the balance of power in the upper house and been vital for improving legislation and actually pressuring Labor to fulfill its election promises, AND in 2022 they QUADRUPLED their seats in the House of Representatives. The reaction? Very little. No months-long discussion "IS THIS THE END OF THE MAJOR PARTIES? IS LABOR SCREWED?" No. It was business as usual. Sure, they lost a few in 2025, but that wasn't because of some crash in support it was because of redistribution of electoral boundaries splitting their support base.
One Nation has won its FIRST ever House of Representatives seat and everyone's acting like they could be the next opposition/government. No they can't. They've yet to go a full calendar year without falling apart internally. Even Pauline Hanson was once kicked out of One Nation. It's that self-destructive of a party.
Also, One Nation doesn't have policies. They just have reactionary bullshit that goes "THINGS SUCK! BOOO! IMMIGRANTS ARE TO BLAME!" that's not a policy. Even if you agree with cutting immigration... then what? What about every other facet of government? What about literally everything else the government needs to do? One Nation doesn't have plans. It just doesn't like Labor. The enemy of your enemy still needs a fucking plan or it's pointless to support them.
The Greens get every policy independently costed. They figure out how much policies cost and how to pay for them. They act as if they could take over the reigns of government tomorrow and put in the work to formulate viable, costed, well balanced and researched policy that listens to experts and tackles real issues. The only party that needs a shadow cabinet is the Opposition, but the Greens create their own equivalent of spokespeople on issues anyway to demonstrate they have the skills and people to formulate complex policy and look after different portfolios. If you want someone competent who has thought out how to form government: the Greens are literally right there.
The Greens are literally the ones with the solution to all the grievances and problems facing One Nation voters but the media either brands Greens as extreme or ignores them. Meanwhile, the media is having a field day blowing air up One Nation's ass because the billionaires who own the media companies don't like Labor and figure they're rich enough to survive whatever fucked up harm One Nation does to the economy if they ever get power.
Pay attention to the Greens. They know how to help you. They know how to help all of us. One Nation doesn't.
i love writing out numbers and then putting them in parentheses like "one (1)" even when i dont need to i think its funny
repeating this to myself as a list of daily affirmations
many women are excited to get old and weird, but i have great news that it's fully possible to become weird now, before you get old. just imagine the heights of weirdness you will be able to reach in fifty years if you get started now. that's what I think
still caring about internet friends you lost touch with years ago is so embarrassing. yeah i had a deam we met up irl recently. the last time we spoke was maybe 7-8 years ago. i still wear the laces we randomly decided was a sign of our friendship. i dont know what any of your socials are or if youre even active on any. sometimes i see someones art resemble yours and i wonder for hours. do you still go by that name you chose? whenever i see it i wonder if its you. we couldve passed each other in this vastness a thousand times and not have a clue.
we were lonely kids having fun together. do you remember?

Also, given how time works at Channel 10, I will not be surprised if they say s6 is "coming next year" and then proceed to put it in the schedule to replace a ratings bomb a few weeks from now.

I'm in a little local cafe and the women behind the counter started griping to each other, "Oh Christ, Stephen's back again," "It's him, is it? I thought he'd stopped coming," "It's definitely him, look, it's bloody Stephen on a Thursday morning," "Do you want me to get rid of him or are you going to do it?" and so I was peering outside, trying to spot this nightmare customer, this pestilence of a person, this pox upon the cafe trade, and then one of the women from behind the counter ran outside, clapping two trays together loudly and yelling "GET OUT OF IT, STEPHEN!" and it turns out that Stephen is an absolutely gigantic fuck-off seagull who hangs around outside, menacing people for crumbs
