Pls ignore the hastily sketched dragon and subsequent blood splatter, I just didn't want a plain background and felt it looked weird to have a bleeding dragon and them just clean.
Bull and Ebala's relationship is a little rocky at first; He being Ben-Hassrath and she being an escaped Saarebas.
But they slowly won each other over through the following months.
I like to imagine that Ebala first wound up in Ferelden during the 5th Blight as part of Sten's Envoy. She was never the strongest follower of the Qun, and originally on track to become a Tamassran, but was obedient enough to keep her head down. During the slaughter and the chaos, she saw an opportunity to break free and make a run for it, disappearing into the Hinterlands for a time. Over the years she worked with many different Mercenary groups before falling with with the Valo-Kas. She was at the end of her tenure with them and was ironically considering seeing if The Bull's Chargers had an opening available.
During those first few years in Ferelden, she didn't speak much common/trade. When asked what her name was, no longer wanting to be Saarebas, she chose the name Adaar, after the weapon as she also was capable of throwing fire. However, as she only spoke qunlat at the time; she said "Ebala Adaar", and her fellow mercenary's assumed that 'Ebala' was her name, with 'Adaar' being her "family" name. Over the years she got fed up with trying to correct people, even after learning common and just started going by Ebala.
She and Bull entered a relationship after she chose to save The Chargers over preserving an alliance with The Qun. She also had some choice words for him over having to be the one to make the decision since they were "his boys". Honestly, it was the rage she felt on behalf of his boys that actually sparked honest attraction from him.
Ebala loves Bull deeply, but also has no issue sharing. In her head, she knows whose bed he comes to at night, so sees no need to interfere with his fun. Over time his other bed partners become fewer and fewer, until eventually it just becomes her and Dorian, and from there, a conversation happens, ultimately deciding to become a vee poly-structure.
After the end of Tresspasser and the disbandenment of the Inquisition, she goes with The Chargers when not needing to perform "Herald" duties, though uses what dwindling political connections she has left to get them to Minrathous at least once a monthish for a week or two so Bull can see Dorian.
