I restarted Pokémon Y for the first time in about ten years, and while the whole premise didn’t make much sense to me as a 12 year old, as a 22 year old, the whole game is essentially grad school.

I got thrown into a cohort who the professor has tasked with researching Pokémon around the region. Have to prove my worth to every single gym leader because no one thinks I’m capable. Professor Sycamore barely talks to me and the rest of his grad students because he’s too busy doing grants and shit. I force my research subjects to fight for money to supplement my income because there’s no way the professor pays me well enough. All this, and I’m constantly being bombarded by Team Flare goons who are just begging me to switch from academia to industry!

I still live at home in my childhood bedroom, which, by the way, has a Wii U
