More info of how atla is anti black
I’ve mentioned this before.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with creating a world that includes only people of color and no white people, especially for representation sake. But there is something wrong if you’re a white person and you basically say “let’s create a world, full of traditions from various reasons of Asia, and the Middle East, Indigenous cultures—and we won’t include white people for good representation, but we won’t include black people either, because for some reason black people or black coded people shouldn’t exist in a world that is void of white people.” Its just very odd to me, that you obviously have very real black influences (well known black voice actors, fighting styles based off of black people, (i.e some of zuko’s styles), black martial arts instructors, cultures and regions where black people could exist) but you just don’t have black people. It’s very strange that you as a white creator decide to make a world void of whiteness, to represent people of color but you don’t think to put black people in that world.
It’s almost as if to say that black people are the same as white people as far as being represented, and therefore, they don’t have to exist just like white people.
Like, Avatar clearly takes influence from the real world but also does its best to represent nonwhite cultures. But it is essentially a world where the only non white culture that doesn’t get to exist is like—black people and that just rubs me the wrong way that, that was okay.
I'm rewatching fmab and holy shit pride and wrath's dynamic is the funniest thing

I'm rewatching pokemon (indigo league) for the first time since it I was a child 20 some years ago and holy shit jesse and james just tossed their pokeballs through the ceiling window of a pokecenter and I'm just wondering how strong those things are
i looked away for a second and the room just filled with pikachu i have no idea where they all came from and it's fantastic

Hey did you know I keep a google drive folder with linguistics and language books that I try to update regularly
**UPDATE**
I have restructured the folders to make them easier to use and managed to add almost all languages requested and then some
Please let me know any further suggestions
….holy shit. You found the holy grail.
….. is this a DIFFERENT person keeping gigabytes worth of language books on google drive? Holy crap.
I don't have a whole lot of complaints about the Legend of Korra, but why did Aang push away his other children when he trained Tenzin? Like, yeah, he's an airbender, but??? His other non-airbending children are just as much air nomad as Tenzin. All three of his children are half air nomad half, water tribe. They have just as much right to know about their culture and its history. There's possibility that their children could be airbenders (at least, I would assume). What are they supposed to do? Have no knowledge to pass on? Just send 'em to Tenzin? What happens when Tenzin kicks it? What if he died at a young age some time after Aang passed? What the fuck are they supposed to do? Let the air nomad culture just die with the airbenders?? Am I also supposed to believe that Katara only trained Kiya with water tribe knowledge? That Bumi was essentially told "fuck you" by both of his parents for not being a bender at all? With Sokka around?? Are you going to tell me, AANG, the victim of genocide, wouldn't pass that knowledge to ALL of his children regardless of their bending abilities?
can you imagine being eli's classmate (that's not victor) and you see this happy kid and you're thinking "aw" and then you hear that he's victor's roommate and you think "aw hell I should probably warn him" and then you find out that the two of them get along pretty well and at this point you're pretty much like "????" like you know the guy victor kicked out and you've heard some stories but then you realize as the years go on that nothing seems to break this kid you and everyone you know is Dying with exams and homework and graduation and eli is hanging around a guy who's notoriously a dick with no friends and just :)
Me watching the antis roll in within a few short days of ac0fs being published:
my apologies for anyone who came here for activity lol
Africa AND India
That wasn’t a competition, it was a beautiful conversation between drumming cultures. You can see the respect you have for each other’s skill as they call one another back in.
