I know no one is going to read this, but I’m desperate enough to try. One of my kittens got rushed to the emergency vet today and was ultimately diagnosed with panleukopenia, the cat version of parvo. I’ve applied for and maxed out all the credit lines I have to pay for his treatment on the chance, even though it’s small, that he may pull through. I couldn’t just end his life like that. He’s only 4 months old. Please, if anyone can donate to help pay for his vet bill, it would be beyond appreciated. They’re quoting 6000 total atm, and I’m able to pay 4k myself. It’s the 2000 difference we’re struggling to find after I was just out of work for a month for my own surgery.

I never thought I would ever have to do this. I know it probably won’t get traction. But I had to try for my baby. Please. Any kind of help is appreciated. If you’re willing, I can message my Venmo

He passed. They did everything they could. Sepsis. Thank you to everyone who shared, boosted or donated. My Noodle boy was the most special little guy, and I can’t imagine not having him to greet me after work with chirps and cuddles. I will be offline for a bit to try and deal with his passing and arrange his cremation

Monsters catching a cold through unordinary means

A vampire seeks out the drunkest prey at the bar to make sure they won’t put up much of a fight. They spot someone leaning against a wall, nursing a drink that must’ve been their fourth or fifth at least, as they seem to be dizzy and off-balance, plus their nose and cheeks are flushed by what seems to be the alcohol. The vampire approaches them and it seems that they’re also slurring their words, dropping all their m and n sounds. The vampire takes this opportunity and drags them out into an alleyway, and in the darkness of solitude, they sink their fangs into the victim. As a defense mechanism, vampire saliva tends to produce an aphrodisiac effect, so when the victim begins to breathe in hitches the vampire attributes it to pleasure. Wrong. The victim throws their head back, but instead of moaning out in ecstasy, they sneeze directly into the vampire’s shoulder, leaving a dampness in their clothes. It suddenly dawns on the vampire that all of the symptoms they had attributed to their drunken state were brought upon by fever and illness, and the blood they had just now revelled in consuming now spelled out the instrument of their suffering for the next few days. It was too late for the vampire, as the virus that had found a home in the victim’s system now ran through the vampire’s veins, dooming them to a week of sneezes and sniffles.

I love the idea of a vampire snacking on the wrong dinner and catching a cold as a result. Gotta be careful where you put your mouth, dear.

A person trying really hard to keep their contagious cold to themselves, but also trying to not let anyone else know they’re sick, not wanting to admit their weakness. They cover their face and stifle to keep their secret, and instead of carrying around tissues they resort to using their sweater collar and sleeves to blow their nose and sneeze into, reasoning that no one was going to get close enough to their clothes for it to matter if they were covered in contagious snot.

After a particularly bad heat flash from their fever, they take off their sweater and leave it on their chair as they go to the bathroom, but when they come back they see that their friend had taken it off the chair and put it on, as it wasn’t unusual for them to share clothes and they were chronically cold. The sickie now has to grapple with their two choices: let them keep wearing the sweater and doom them to this horrid cold or tell them to take it off and reveal that they’re sick, betraying their facade of strength.

Sickie is so tired they nuzzle their still cold wet dripping nose into the person they're leaning against. Maybe they end up snzing too and making a mess but they're just too tired to care anymore

B, (who has seen this show before) taking the cue and choosing violence by making a big fuss anyway by repeatedly making pointed comments every time A sneezes along the lines of:

"gosh, your...allergies are sure acting up" "it seems a bit...early in the season for this to be starting, no?" "do you maybe want to take an...antihistamine or something?"

Which has the intended outcome of B eventually annoying A into finally admitting they are sick if only to get B to shut 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒻𝓊𝒸𝓀 up

always obsessed with the concept of someone teetering between feeling off and unwell, without really being able to pinpoint any particular symptom. they go to rest, maybe take nap or something, and it finally hits them like a truck.

A fluey-virus has been sweeping its way through a TV show set. Both production and the actors have been getting knocked down one by one by the worst cold any of them can remember.

It's spread like wildfire as there's very little time between the first tickle at the back of your throat and blasting out wet, spraying sneezes every few minutes.

The wave of sickness has peaked and is now trickling off. Mainly people are just sniffling and tired- the remnants of their cold. But, production is so far behind. They had no choice but to slow down when several of the casts key stars couldn't get a line out without sneezing all over themselves.

They desperately need to move at pace to catch up to their weekly schedule.

Somehow, one of the main stars, Actor A has managed to avoid the lurgey. He's immune, he reckons.

Actor A arrives on set- ready for a jam-packed day ahead. He takes a swig of black coffee and frowns. Shit.

He raises a hand to rub against the back of a throat that hurts like hell.

He can feel his nose beginning to clog up, a heavy fog settling over his brain. It won't be long until his sinuses are clogged full of gunk and he's snapping forward with miserable sneeze after miserable sneeze.

Maybe it won't be so bad for him? Maybe he can make it through?

The director tiredly yells action, voice still croaky and deep bags under his eyes.

Fuck, there's so many people relying on him. They have to catch up or the ep won't hit on time.

So, tickle beginning to work its way through his nostrils, Actor A swallows against a throat like gravel and starts the scene...
