the way microwaves parse time is fascinating to me. they're so laid back. classic values like 2:00 and 1:30? cool and good. but then you can have fun with it. 1:60? 0:90? sure they work out the same. 5:99? 19:99? ok now you're being silly. that's prices. but the microwave doesn't judge.
yknow, as counterintuitive as it may seem, helping a suicidal friend isn't a matter of stopping them from dying. it's about helping to make their world one that's worth living in.
it's important to make that distinction, lest we make people's quality of life worse in the name of "protecting" them.

icymi i'm very disabled and very poor, and every dime that comes in goes to bills, food, and medication, in that order, and i am not often able to acquire the Big or even the Objectively Small But Poverty Says No Things on my own.
I already crowdfund on a monthly basis to pay for the bills I can (someday it will end), so I'm being a big brave boy to drop a wishlist of things I'd really like to get that aren't bills or food or medication (okay admittedly there is some health stuff)
and if you WANT to and you *can*, it would be cool, but you don't have to and my feelings won't be hurt if you don't even click on it
Checking my notifications with coffee and several of the crowdfunding items are partially funded, including the drawing tablet

Not all these movies are necessarily good, but the ones that gave me small pop culture epiphanies. It made me realize that 30%-40% of the jokes from modern sitcoms are references/parodies- and these movies are their source material.
^^ This is also true for socializing. So many people I thought were naturally funny were just doing movie bits.
