Astaneh-Ye Ferdaws or Gates of Paradise, the name of a pair of emerald & diamond eyeglasses from 17th century Mughal-era India. (photo credit: Sotheby's)

The glasses are attributed to Shah Jahan. With green emeralds symbolizing Paradise, they were fashioned to aid him with spiritual healing due to mourning his wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
