so this guy right he makes ancient egyptian themed furry costumes. he makes all kinds but mostly he specializes in Horus heads. it's his passion really. he loves to make the beautiful falcon head of the Sun God. anyway so he's at a con one day and he sees this whole bunch of people in middle kingdom dress with these indistinguishable animal heads. he's like. oh man these folks could really use a new source, i can hardly tell what animal those are! so he goes over and he says "hey guys! i see you are into ancient egyptian mythological themed furry costumes--if any of you are interested in being the radiant Son of Ra, I am the BEST in the business!"
and the group of people look at each other, then at him. awkward. finally one of them says: "uh. no thanks. we're all Set."
Ok so how would you people feel if I made a very off the rails BigB centric AU?
BigB is or rather was an entity known as a The Devourer, this entity is made up of the code of forgotten worlds (deleted worlds) and also the code of forgotten players, the left over code is consumed by this creature passes through them before leaving behind new updated worlds that shed from the plants and mushrooms that grow all over its vast form.
However somehow fragments of this entity’s core were broken off and scattered around the universe, these fragments took the form of nymphs while on the mortal words, for the longest time and his body would change with the seasons eventually going by the name BigB. In this au every version of BigB is a different person, but they are all fragments of a greater whole all connecting back to the branches of the entity. When a series ends the bigb in that universe doesn’t move on like the other players but rather his code is taken back by the entity. At least at first, but that wouldn’t be the case forever.
This entity isn’t malicious nor are they benevolent, they are simply a cosmic creature more akin to a force of nature or an inevitability. So when it loses parts of itself it doesn’t hunt them down, it simply waits, knowing eventually its lost fragments will return to it.
However that’s the issue, BigB was never meant to be a mortal entity, he was never meant to be an individual nor get attached the worlds he would eventually leave and never return to. But eventually he started to become more aware, this likely stated all the way back in his hunger games era, were he would create truly impressive structures especially for the time, players from all over would visit and part take in his games eventually starting an attachment to his mortal life, this pattern would continue for many incarnations across the universe before we reach Evo. It was at this point something changed, the fragments stopped returning to his true self upon the destruction of the reality they were bound to, but rather they now gravitated towards other fragments. Bigbs Evo self temporarily escaped the watchers wrath by escaping into his Shady oaks self where he resided there for awhile, but this was his first time the fragments had merged instead of returning to their source so he couldn’t hold himself in shady oaks for too long before he was forced back into Evo where he was taken like the other players.
Now he is trapped in the life series time loop but this also gives him more chances to get attached to the world and the people within it. Eventually hiding a valuable peace of himself within a hidden area in the world, hiding his heart in the depths of the pale gardens. Forever changing his form from an ever changing Nymph to a Creaking, a creature permanently fixed on the location where his heart resides, the worlds he chose to make his anchor and the time loop he is trapped within, slowly gathering more scattered fragments of himself, slowly gaining a stronger identity and attachment and even more slowly remembering his true origin and true purpose.
The question remains, how long will this last? how large can the fragments of the Devourer get before it feels the need to act? how long until the watchers start to see what they thought was a player was more then what they first thought? If how close can BigB become to his true self before he looses his humanity? When he remembers where he came from would he want to return or would he choose to stay? If he wanted to stay would that bring conflict between him and the players who rightfully want freedom from the time loop? If he wishes to escape will that create conflict between him and the watchers when they realise within their grasp is a fragment of an entity that is equal to them if not beyond them? If something or someone else learns the truth before BigB does what would they do with that information?
Who knows?
When I first started sketching this drawing I had a Watcher BigB au in mind, because I wanted to explore what having connections to the Devine would be like for players other then Grian or Mumbo. But then it sort of turned into something completely different, but it was fun to think about.
Ok so I just finished playing Dispatch and I freaking LOVED it! Sooooo I thought it would be fun to combine my two current hyperfixations and make a Hermitcraft Dispatch AU!
Quick overview for those who have never played Dispatch:
In this AU Impulse works as a superhero dispatcher, someone who analyzes a team’s strengths and weaknesses and answers distress calls by the sending the hero most suited to the job. However, he’s been assigned to the Hermit Program, a team of former villains trying to become heroes. To say the least, it’s like trying to herd cats and the office and comm lines are always in chaos when the Hermits show up to work.

They catch gusts of wind with their massive frills and get spreaded across chains of isles, and even continents! luckily, adults dont fly, they stick to the ground like fierce, feral beasts hunting in packs. They're speed demons, and will outnumber you if caught alone. Despite their abundance, they dont dare setting foot near our territories, the only grim reminder about their presence is their chilling, hyena like laughter as they stalk amongst the tall grasses.
