What if the Wolf is actually just Aaron from a future where he's the only one who survived whatever the hell is going on in Mermaid tales/mystreet (partially because the people he knows are very willing to die for him and because he seems to be Irene's favourite since she's always trying to save him.)

Finally got my hands on a laptop and did some warm up sketches on the new Mermaid Tales episodes (tw; Decapitation)

He's about to learn about internal bones and opposable thumbs. Also, why is Aaron getting his eye injured? Should've been Zane. Lowkey waiting for him and Garroth to reunite so he can experience his canon event (probably won't happen but I can hope).

I have too many opinions about the new season of Mermaid Tales, as much as I'm having fun, I have a whole list of problems with it. Idk if I'll blog anything about it, I don't have the most analytical mind, but I'll wait until the season ends.

I’m seeing clocks and midnight as big motifs going on in the aphverse rn, and I hate that I don’t know what it means, if it means anything

Ok this might be either a huge stretch, or a very well known fact, but!! I think the clock motifs are meant to show when time is running out.

I mean, if you think about it, the clocks are shown in the Season 7 Teaser (which was originally meant to be the final season), and in the Marmaid Tales episode where it was explicitly stated by the wolf character that Aaron was running out of time.

The clock breaking in the teaser could be symbolic of the Mystreet world breaking / ending, and the clock in MT is representive of Aaron being close to death.

Both of them are also striking midnight (or, midnight in MT's case, ig in the teaser's case, it could also be noon.) Midnight, in literature, typically represents the area between an ending and a new beginning. It's also known as the 'witching hour' which is typically a point in time where the viel beteen spiritual aspects of the world and physicaly aspects of world collide. Because of that, it's also symbolic of danger.

One of the times we've seen a clock, its symbolic of something ending and something starting. In mermaid tales' case, the clock could represent the side quests ending and the main story starting (We'd have to wait until next episode to see if that's truely what's happening, but it is very likely.)

In mystreet's case, it could mean that the hiatus is ending and that the new era of seasons are starting(?). Or, like WriteItOut has theorized, it could represent the ending of the Mystreet world (due to the comet?)

This is mostly just speculation, and I'm not even sure if most of this makes sense, but yeahh, that's what I think the clocks mean.

I dont completely hate the 2 side quest arcs, though I wish they were either shorter or added more to the main plot, but THIS WAS SOOO GOOD

Especially his haircut and the lack of mask. I kinda expected them to keep his human head the same, since that what they always do for recognition, but I’m so glad they switched it up because this version of Zane doesn’t have a reason to cover his face like the others do!

I've seen a lot of people say that its stupid to use Dancing Maddness in a fakeout death because that song means someones going to die- but thats not true.

Usually when that song comes up it doesn't mean someone's gonna die, it usually indicates Irene is connected somehow. It was first used in the Diaries season 1 finale and no one died there (unless you count Katelyn killing Lillian i guess).

The song playing while MT Aaron was getting chased down isnt meant to trick the audience, its meant to indicate Irene is involved somehow. And considering the Wolf lowkey prophesying his death, and what happens in the other series, it really does seem Aaron is just destined to die.

(I swear to god every conflict in these series can be traced back to Irene and Shad having a MYTHICALLY BAD breakup)
