From the diaries of the artist: «It was very difficult to work; I had to cut the brushes, make the bristle short, rub the colors was almost inconceivable. <… > The hand is cracking, it is breaking; the roaring hands refuse to serve. But you draw, all thirsty to put on the canvas these bizarre, gloomy, full of peculiar beauty paintings of the Far North» (source)

I don't know how to articulate this with regard at one post I saw, but medieval people did not think that disease was made by "evil spirits". Partially, yes, because everything had a religious background and explanation, but the idea of explaining it as "evil spirits" is anachronistic and wrong.
Medieval people had material and naturalistic understandings on why disease happened. They were wrong but they did not attribute it to "spirits" or "curses" most of the time. They had humoral theory (the four humors), miasma theory (they did know that an unclean environment was unhealthy, they just didn't know what kind or why), the idea of astrology having direct influence in health (which is very logical in a world where the night sky is a permanent fixture and the basis of your cosmology), and herbal medicine and practices.
None of it was really based on scientific principles, and all of it had a spiritual component but what's key here is that they did not think it was random "spirits". They did believe that morality had a role to play, you would be unfortunate and unhealthy if you didn't follow God's path. But they also very, very much recognized natural and physical sources of disease, as well as treatment.
Their ideas were wrong because they didn't had a scientific method behind it and were mostly isolated ideas by various scholars instead of a discipline (though the beginnings were there) but they would understand medicine. They would understand germ theory (especially if they had microscopes), hygiene and sanitation (they did bathe and care for a healthy body and place, they just didn't understand what it meant) and vaccines and modern medicines without having to talk about "angels and demons".
went to make a pot of rice so we can have a bowl to make it until tomorrow, turns out one of the bags is rotting, water or humidity got to it and it smells foul so now instead of 2kg of rice we have 1kg, of which I already made half of it
so can we get some help affording food please, we're literally in our last half kg and we have nothing else left to serve it with
EDIT: this one is going around just going to put my paypal here, please, we just want to afford groceries without touching the funds for our daughter's surgery, thank you.

cptsd should make me wake up every morning with black eyeliner and a macabre yet sharp sense of humor but instead it just makes me feel like less of a person than anybody i interact with and makes me have a hard time concentrating
not to sound like the friend that's too woke but why does this police station toyset for a 5yr old need a weapons safe full of tiny toy-sized automatic rifles. just asking.
12 years on and still the best articulation ever made of how one should respond to useless critiques
i can’t believe people ever called tumblr an echo chamber or a “hugbox”, i have never in my life been exposed to a group of people so thirsty to disagree with you. why did someone just say they wished they could crucify me bc i said i liked oat milk best. we all need to learn some lessons about friendship here
