Hello, my name is Alia.
I am a student in my 20s, so maybe I'll share my experiences about that too.
I am also non binary and trying to navigate the waves of the universe, struggling to be something that I can call "me".
I write here to discuss my emotions with people who are into that stuff.
I will post each day describing my feelings for the day.
I hope you find peace here.
marty supreme begins with fertilisation, borne from arrogance and impulses of a 22 year old hustler in new york, the movie follows marty mauser around the world as he fucks up in ways no one could ever imagine. it's no surprise, however, that he believes in himself and in date to hold him together, something that erodes more and more as the story goes on. it's a character driven odyssey, nothing happens on screen without marty's actions being the cause of it.
marty mauser believes he will be okay because he's a talented genius who can beat all odds because he's a man with a dream, but the most beautiful moment of the film is when he realises that no one around him cares for him or wants him to succeed. his realization that he's just a pawn in a game much bigger than him is arguable the heart of the film. his reaction to that is also so satisfying, to say "fuck it, FUCK YOU, IM MARTY SUPREME BITCH SUCK MY COCK AND GARGLE MY BALLS"
the movie ends with him holding up to his responsibilities in his arms, ones that he avoided to fulfill his dreams. there is an argument to be made that this film doesn't discourage hustle culture but merely shows how it affects those around us. the parents waiting for their children to come home from work. the partners and friends we ignore for a while when we are busy. marty supreme argues that their lives and ambitions matter just as much, if not more.
