Crossed paths (Din Djarin x reader) (Cara Dune x reader)
Request: Hi! Can I request a Din x reader, where the reader is a Jedi, (wields a white lightsaber pls.) who looks weak but is a certified badass. She’s bi, and catches the eye of Cara and Din. But of course Din and her fall for each other. (And she has an instant connection with the child)
A/n: Hi 💖, this was fun to write, I'm sorry it took me so long I'm still practicing. Any way please enjoy 💗💗
Din was sitting quietly watching you play with the child on your lap. The little creature was trying to reach your face by stretching his little arms as much as he could, you laughed at his attempts and brought him closer to you.
Din smiled under his helmet seeing you laugh happily. Just the thought of you warmed his heart. He couldn't be more grateful for having you with him, you were simply amazing, so gentle, kind and more powerful than anyone he knew.
It was crazy to believe that only a few months ago you were complete strangers.
The Mandalorian and Cara Dune walked through the crowded market looking for some supplies when suddenly someone ran in the middle of them, almost knocking them down.
"Hey! Watch it!" shouted Cara at the girl who kept running without even looking back.
Not even two seconds later a group of at least twenty armed men ran after her.
"She's in trouble" said Mando turning to look at Cara. The ex-shock trooper sighed.
"Let's go" she said and both began to run too.
You ran as fast as your legs allowed you to, trying to put as much distance as possible between you and the men chasing you, accidentally pushing everyone in your path. Throwing stuff from time to time trying to slow them down. You took a few laps through the maze that was the huge market with the hope of losing them among the sea of people. Just when you thought you had succeeded you ran into a dead end.
Turning around you saw the men you were running from, they were getting dangerously closer with each passing second, weapons ready.
"It's over!" said one of them while the others gathered around you "hands where we can see them"
You let out a sigh "I don't want to do this" you told them and slowly raised your hands.
"Yeah, me neither" you heard a modulated voice said behind the men around you followed the sound of a blaster ready to shoot.
Everyone turned to see who was this man, pointing their guns at him. A Mandalorian.
"Let her go" said a strong woman next to him with a blaster in hand.
Everyone stood still waiting for someone to make a move and then someone on your left shot and everything turned into chaos.
Cara and Mando started to take them down, at first she started shooting but then knocked them down only with her strong fists, punching them and throwing them around as if they were made out of paper. She had one by the neck when she saw from the corner of her eyes that two armed men were approaching you, trapping you between the wall and them.
"Mando!" she yelled to get his attention. Still shooting, he turned to see her. Cara pointed with the head at your direction.
He soon reacted and shot one of the men near you while throwing a wire from one of his fists, pulling the other man away from you.
They have took down almost the half of them when suddenly a grenade came out of nowhere sending the ex-trooper and the Mandalorian flying directly to the ground.
Stunned by the explosion, Din managed to get up on his elbows to get amazed with what he saw.
The girl they were trying to protect just a second ago was standing in the middle of a rain of red lights, as the blasters shoot without even touching her. Then she got something from her waist, something Mando couldn't quite tell what it was, and the she turned it on. A white bright laser sword, just like the one's the Jedi used to have.
She twirled the weapon on her hand blocking the shots and deflecting some. Everyone ceased their shooting and rushed to fight the girl who with great skill turned the bright sword above her head and started to stab any man that came her way.
Her movements were so precise and so fluid that it almost seemed like she was dancing, creating white abstract figures with every movement she gave. And then raising her free hand she lifted a guy in the air, just like the Child did with the mudhorn, and then crashed him on the ground. She looked like something that Din had only hear speak in legends. When there were no one else standing she turned off her weapon.
The Mandalorian looked around for Cara who was who was laid on the ground a few feet apart, with an impressed look on her face.
After catching your breath, you get close to the woman and the Mandalorian who a few minutes ago fought for you, or at least tried.
"Thank you" you said to them and extended your hands to help them get up. They exchanged glances for a second and then took your hands. "That was very brave and kind of you" you told them once they were standing. Both nodded in response.
"I'm Cara Dune" said the woman grinning at you, then pointed at the armored man next to her "and this is Mando"
"I'm (y/n)" you said "Thanks once again, now if you excuse me, I must go" you told them and slowly started to walk away.
"Wait" finally spoke the man in the helmet making you stop and turn to see him. "I think we might need your help"
"Is that so?" Cara asked him raising an eyebrow.
After a little explanation about some "Child", you found yourself following these strangers to their ship, hoping it wasn't a trap. But there was something in them that somehow made you trust them.
You finally arrived to the big spaceship and let them guide you inside. Cara leaned against a wall looking at you from head to toe while he went to search something on other side of the ship.
"So…" said the woman "Y/N, I gotta be honest. What you did back there, was awesome!"
"Thanks" you said nodding.
"Where you learned to do that?"
"I was trained to be a peace keeper" you explain to her "a Jedi... but that was a long time ago"
You heard the steps of the Mandalorian coming back from the cockpit. You almost screamed when you saw the little green creature he was holding. It was the cutest thing you have ever seen, but that was not the only thing.
"By the Maker!" was all you managed to say. There was such an intense force in the kid, very powerful. The little one immediately extended his small arms towards you, as if he wanted you to carry him.
"What's wrong?" asked Mando looking down at you.
"I’ve never felt this kind of strength before” you told them and both, Cara and Mando exchanged a confuse glace. “Can I?” you asked him as you extend your arms to hold the child.
“Sure” answered the mandalorian, putting the kid on your arms.
“Funny, that thing seems to like you” Cara added chuckling while the little creature made happy noises.
“This is why I asked you to come here” Mando said making you look at him “The thing you did on the market, lift that guy on the air, I’ve seen this kid do the same, but with a mudhorn”
“Not doubt he’s powerful” you said impressed. Then you look down to observe the features of the smiling thing in your arms, that made some little noises at you happily, the eyes of the green creature looked at yours. “He needs a teacher” you informed looking back at the man in the helmet.
“Can you do it?” he said, the kid glanced at you waiting with high hopes for your answer.
“Everything for this little one”
Since that day you were offered to travel along with Mando in the Razor Crest, and you just couldn’t deny the offer, there was nothing for you in the old planet you used to hide anyways.
The life with them felt more like an actual life then all the years before alone, there was something so interesting in travel from planet to planet so the man could get the bounties. You loved teaching the child the ways of the force or just taking care of him. And Cara just made the days funnier, the big girl was such a tease, it was part of her nature always, winking at you as she fires those big weapons.
But then you caught yourself slowly falling for the mandalorian. It was the way he was always looking after you, caring if you get the smallest injury and protecting you though he knew you could take care of yourself and most of the time it was you who ended up saving him from time to time. You really understood each other and with the time you gained enough of his trust for him to tell you his name, his real name. He was sincere and kind, and though he seemed to be as cold as his armor he was nothing close in the interior, he cared about the child and his friends but over all, he cared for you.
A little rock hit on his armor woke up Din from his remembrance. He turned to see who had thrown the stone, Cara, who was grinning at him and shaking her head. Once she had his attention she nodded toward Y/N before getting up.
“Alright, time for this troublemaker to take a nap” Cara said as she took the creature from your lap, he made a few protesting noises leaving your arms but you allowed her to take him.
She winked at Mando before getting inside the ship.
Chuckling you thanked Cara in your mind, she was kind enough to find a way to give you some time with the Mandalorian.
You step closer to him, sitting between his legs leaning your back against his chest covered in beskar. He automatically wrapped and arm around you.
“What are you thinking, Din?” you said as soon as you were comfortable.
“I’m glad we ran into you” he said. He wasn’t the best with words so that was something. You chuckle.
“I believe it was me who ran into you” you teased as you remembered that day, eliciting a small modulated chuckle from him
“Yeah, you’re right” he said.
Both of you stayed in silence for a while, Din holding you as you both enjoyed the feeling of being together. Looking at the stars, not bounties, not trouble, just the two of you.
