ok so for the materials list i’m gonna tell you /exactly/ what i used so you know what went into making the exact sword i made, but you obviously don’t have to do it the exact same way; if you go through my armour tutorial or
craft foam (any is fine, mine was from the dollar store)
a set of stud earrings (and pierced ears)
sharpie(or something to mark with
paper
hot glue
paint brushes (and water or whatever)
bobby pins
3 hours of free time, they are extremely easy to make
First you make a template of the fins you want, here is an example
THat was badly made in paint but you get the idEA. So next you will trace that onto the craft foam and cut them out. Then make sure to trace every thing because you will be outlining most of it with hot glue. Here is what my Trickster Eridan fins looked like at this stage.
As you can see just use hot glue on the outlines parts in red. After all the glue is dried you get to paint it. Start out with your base color and don’t forget to paint the back (should match you make up, put some of your sealed make up on your hand so you can match the colors) and after that is dry, add in some accents of the blood color (again be sure its a good color). I put a few little drops at the start and got a clean brush and swooped it out towards the ends and blended it. After that I added freckles, earrings, or whatever accessory/detail I wanted to add.
Now to attach it is really simple, this is where the earrings and bobby pins come in. First get your 2 (one for each ear) bobby pins and bend then to a 90 degree angle, after you will glue them to the base ( I suggest hot glue). Now if you have pierced ears you will need to find where you earring hole lands on the fin and mark it with a sharpie, again you will glue the earring stud onto that dot.
The bobby pin is there to stick into your wig and the earring will keep it from flapping around. If you do not have pierced ears I suggest you use a thin wire or find something to anchor it down with because if you don’t your fins will NOT stay to your head.
I hope you found this helpful and hope you make some FAB FINS LIKE MINE. (submit pics of your beautiful creations if you like)
It was requested of me to do a tutorial for Eridan’s cape, and although I have never cosplayed him, I have made things with very similar construction so I am confident that this should be helpful!
Start by evenly painting a coat of paint on each bracelet, letting it dry, then painting another coat. Repeat this maybe two more times until you get the exact color you want.
After this, take your glass gems and stick them on your bracelet accordingly with hot glue. Here is a diagram of how I did mine:
What I’m saying is be sure to place the stones directly across from each other and in THE MIDDLE OF THE BRACELET. If not they’ll look off and weird, trust me.
After you’ve placed your gems on there, the bracelets are ready to be worn! Good luck!
I don't know how many people love/like this headcanon, but personally, I love trolls with (long) pointed ears. It looks so much better than just round, 'normal' ears to me. Because I really love seeing different types of ears for trolls as well, I figured why not make this thing.
Hey, so this is just my opinion! None of this is a 'you should' do it kind of thing. Honestly, it's just the ears I see working best for each troll. Nothing more, nothing less.
I will also post a link to where you can buy these (on etsy) if you want to purchase them! Also, if it is your first time purchasing from etsy, you can get a discount here.
NYX has the perfect lipsticks for both Serkets and Maryams! And they’re only $6!
Sinful is perfect for Scorpio trolls - it’s a true Serket cerulean, a little less purple than it looks here. Definitely needs a clear liner though, I should have swatched it with one...
Hopefully shortly! Sorry about disappearing again, I had a con and now I'm sick so I don't have a lot of energy to check up on this blog like I'd like.
I apologize for disappearing yet again, but life has been crazy since I've been removed from a school and going back to an old one due to health and al that shit, plus I'm taking a bunch of honors classes.
I'm going to organize this blog a bit along with its partner blog. I will also announce the new mods very soon.
So, I was supposed to come back and open up the ask/submit for the people who wanted to ask questions/submit things, etc, but I got caught in a rut of depression and completely forgot.
can somebody tell me is anyone selling a godtier jade shirt? ill pay anything under like 50 maybe 35-40?? im a size smallish and I can resize if I need to :D
Okay so when I posted the original post, here, it was about a week or so before my laptop screen broke so I haven’t been able to get on much since all I have is a shitty family desktop computer and a tablet.
We still need new mods since nobody has applied yet, too, because running this all by myself this year isn’t going to be something I can do. If it happens, it’s going to update very rarely.
I have been popping on and making a huge list of videos for everyone on cosplay tips, how-to’s, tutorials, etc. So it should be out sometime around Christmas.
Paradise AQ Makeup: Brief review and where to purchase
Paradise makeup, if you are not familiar with it, is basically a body paint that not many Homestucks have heard of/use. I have no idea why, since they seem very amazing, if a big dark at first. If you want to read the rest, it is under the cut.
Now at first glance, it looks like the perfect color. This is the best color of it I can get that's as close to the one I had at least received,
It's a bit darker. But you can control the color of it, so it will be rather easy to get that color if wanted!
Now this isn't going to be very image heavy (as I have been very crunched for time and the only camera I have available takes very shitty pictures). Now, on to what it should look like.
When you receive it, it looks almost more like an eyeshadow (it feels like one when it is dry when you open it was well). I have one rather shitty picture of it, which is below.
Keep in mind I could only get the refill size at the time. As you can see, it is much darker than the other photo. Also ignore those nails, those are for other cosplay things and have nothing to do with this.
Basically, it looks like an eyeshadow, and will feel like one when you touch it before getting it wet.
It is water activated, and when i started applying some on my skin, it felt very light and breathable. Very good for a first start.
A con is, is that at least I have had problems with layers. Or keeping the right color. But that really only has to do with the fact that I can't use a big sponge (I had one before my cats wrecked it, worked very nicely!) or one at all for reasons I just stated.
I will say it is recommended you purchase a sponge or two for this. They are easy clean up.
With cleanup, I had a good experience. It is very easy to get off with just water.
The thing that makes this worthy of this review is that while I had some on my hand, I tried rubbing it off (expecting it to come off a lot since I have had some experience with Ben Nye makeup for a drama play, and it rubbed everywhere... even after sealing it quite well. Never mind getting it off was a pain.
This? I didn't seal it at all at first, and when I roughly rubbed my hand on the grey area, very, VERY little came off. I was impressed and kept trying. Still, not much came off.
Just to be safe, after that I sealed with baby powder. A little less got on my hand, and even then it was very little. I'd say this is very good, especially if you paint your arms, I strongly recommend this.
The only problem is that please, do not get wet. This is water activated, and it comes off so easily with just a damp paper towel to the point if you spill your drink or go swimming, all that paint will come right off.
Also, the smell isn't all that bad (I've heard complaints about snazaroo smelling horrible), which is a plus.
Other than that? This is fantastic stuff and I'm not sure why the Homestuck community hasn't really heard of it/uses it.
It is rather dark, so if it is possible, try getting some white along with it. I have not tried mixing it, but I intend to soon since the gray is a bit dark for me.
You can get it at a few places but the cheapest I have ever seen it is 9 dollars for a 40gm, which isn't too bad, considering on the same site its 8 dollars for an 18ml of light grey snazaroo. I'd personally get the white and grey and attempt mixing, but just the grey should be fine.
You can purchase it here, and here|here.
You can purchase the sponges: here and here.
As for purchasing, I recommend SillyFarm as I've purchased off of them before, and they are able to give refunds and have good shipping time. It is also cheaper there, but I'm not sure about shipping. Generally shipping on SillyFarm is $7.00 USD, I'm not too sure about Mehron since it gives a varied list so I'm not quite sure!
A lot of cosplayers have had trouble with her jewelry, and I don’t really like the look of the craft foam and gold paint. I found some really cheap gold ankle cuffs and bracelets (1), (2) and two different necklaces for her (1), (2)
First of all, there is no reason to resend the same ask. It takes a while to get around to all the questions that are in the inbox. Just be patient.
Second, I’ve never personally made a knight cosplay (nor will I probably ever), so I literally googled it for you. Here’s some tutorials that I found.
Tutorial 1
Tutorial 2
Tutorial 3
Lastly, please be more specific in your asks next time! I don’t know if you only wanted a hood/cape tutorial, or if you wanted to figure out how to construct the shirt or what.
