#mothersday2020 #brunch #surfandturf #steak #crabcakes #shakshouka. This was a #laboroflove because I deshell fresh crab to make the crab cakes. Deshell was labor intensive but it ensures I get the freshest crabs. I had to chuck a can of bad crab so instead of rolling the dice with another can and waste precious time going and waiting online in the supermarket I used fresh crabs and took the time to deshell them. Mom helped so I was still able to get all the food on the table in record time. It was my first time making Basque Brunt Cheesecake. Definitely the easiest cheesecake I ever made. I'm very happy with the result. Shakshouka is easily @ichigogoshiro favorite brunch food. This was less a #baking exercise, but more of a trying to prefect the #frosting exercise. I need to find ways to stabilize the frosting without making it cloyingly sweet. So I tested a few options. It's still not stiff enough 🤔. This was a chocolate cake with coffee peanut butter buttercream. #easter morning. I'm still not in the mood to cook or bake so half the stuff I made was poorly executed and didn't make it on to the table. But in the end it's okay because I need to get started on my washboard abs. I saved the ugliest cupcake I ever made and turned it into something semi-decent.
