magic has no morality.
I so desperately want to be able to convince Trump supporters with facts and logic and empathy, but it’s so important to remember that their ignorance is INTENTIONAL. my mom didn’t let us watch Sleeping Beauty growing up. I asked her why recently and she said, “it was evil.” when I pointed out other movies had similar themes and depictions of evil, and asked what the difference was, she couldn’t. I pressed one more time and she just said, “it felt evil to me. I didn’t like it”. same thing with dune 2: she said it was “dark”, and I was, “literally, like the movie’s lighting? Or the themes?” and she said “I don’t know” and didn’t want to talk about it more. many conservatives genuinely cannot tell the difference between “I don’t like it” and “this is evil” and they do not care to learn despite many chances
and while I’m at, this can also be true of left-leaning people!!!! please think about things. you are not necessarily smarter than conservatives and you are not immune to propaganda
now why does this look like tyler was just being extremely homophobic
"please advise" is the professional email equivalent of "girl help"
the only reliable, effective way of "protecting children" is education. but people don't want to hear that because they don't actually care about protecting children, they care about protecting a mythologised ideal of innocence
I am the vampire Madeleine Eparvier. And my immortal companion is Claudia. My coven is Claudia.
I've gone fifteen years on this website without absorbing any information about homestuck and I'm not about to start now
What we’ve gotta understand is that “the modern Internet is abolishing spaces for adults” and “the modern Internet is abolishing space for children” are compatible phenomena. Neither group is being favoured: the modern Internet is abolishing spaces for adults (i.e., because grown-up topics aren’t advertiser friendly) and the modern Internet is abolishing spaces for children (i.e., because online communities which consist principally of people who have no money are hard to sell things to). The Internet that contemporary corporate interests are trying to build isn’t a space for anyone – it’s the digital equivalent of an Ikea showroom.
Like, when I say that the greater part of contemporary social media is fundamentally hostile to human life, I’m not indulging in hyperbole or constructing an ironic metaphor. I mean that 100% literally.
NO FEAR. The actors who played Long John Silver and Captain Flint in Black Sails FULLY ACKOWLEDGE that the Muppet adaptation was the best

Okay, so fun thing - our friends taped it from Sky for us when it premiered there way back in the 90s before we had the VHS. I have no idea why, but there was a little 10-15 minute behind the scenes thing (that may or may not be on the DVD. Would need to go hunting) but basically, they were “interviewing the cast”, so Piggy and Kermit and Tim were all there being filmed separately in talking heads sections.
The interviewer raised speculation of an on-set romance between Piggy and Tim Curry. Kermit flailed, Piggy tried to be coy and Tim frigging Curry gave the most wickedly mischievous look straight into the camera and said “Well I do love a bacon roll”
20+ years ago, I saw that and I cackle every time I think of it.

I had no idea where this post was going and it’s so pleasant
It went to the best place possible.
Two guys shotgunning in a van. Zero feet apart ‘cause they are very gay for each other actually
some of you have never had your notp be the most popular ship in the fandom and it shows
I think if the first doctor, given an opportunity to pick out a pronoun pin, would stand there for ages thinking about it REALLY hard. & Then carefully select he/him.
This is in contrast to the second doctor who would just grab a handful of badges, attach them all to xyr braces and coat, and get on with her day without giving it any more thought.
While desire to use multiple pronouns is a factor, Two is also motivated by a magpie like desire to attach lots and lots of coloured badges to themself
I don't have one for every doctor but can give you
Four would go 'oh no thank you, I don't use those' and they'd be like 'pronoun pins?' and Four would be like 'no, pronouns. Fiendish things.'
As per the notes Six would be like 'no thank you, I brought my own' and produce a badge shaped like a cat
Seven pulls out a badge that says ??/?? (Gotta keep em guessing)
Nine chooses she/her and Rose is like haha for real tho and Nine's like who says it's a joke Rose is like lol ok and then spends half the event hiding in the corner taking an 'am I a lesbian' quiz on her phone
@ospreyonthemoon they're like 'would you like a pronoun pin' and Eight produces his mortuary tag like 'does this count'
this is incredible and also very accurate, but I have to say I forgot Doctor Who exists for a brief 20 sec while first reading this and spent that time puzzling about what would make early medical professionals particularly introspective about pronoun usage
