ppl like āi was a gifted kid but now im dumb as shit ahhhh im so sad now weeeehā shut the fuck up i grew up smart as shit and iām smart now and iāll die smart as fuck too. youre nothing.
Why do I have to keep seeing posts about this
The people who just screamĀ āguillotinesā every time the topic of societal improvement comes up are annoying and childish, but they also donāt seem to understand that America is not actually a monarchy and does not have an aristocracy. The reason the guillotines came out in France and the Romanovs ended up against the wall in Russia is that leaving monarchy alive means they can theoretically come back and claim the throne. Of course some royals have been deposed and exiled and this never happens, but itās always a possibility, especially in an age when there were more monarchies than democracies around. So nobody really knew what to do with these people EXCEPT kill them. Members of the royal families of Europe were given powers far beyond anything even the richest assholes of North America have. Nobody has a god-given right to rule here. We have options other than murder. You can just tax the fuck out of them and break up their monopolies and disperse their power that way, we already have the societal mechanism for that.
Also I donāt know how to tell people this but killing the rich would not give you access to their money. You think banks, which are frequently international now, wouldnāt just transfer that somewhere else and split? Theyāre not going to give it to you. There is no palace to raid.
It's a joke. Let me be mad at rich people for fucks sake. This is the most condescending "um actually". Like yeah, we know this isn't revolutionary France. It's a fucking joke. Does this person really think anyone is building a guillotine in their garage. Just let me be mad at the filthy rich .001% it's cathartic, ok?
new game: tag how many chuggas
men are so annoying, "women belong at home in the kitchen blah blah" and YOU belong in the workshop making me a fuckin table! why arent you forging steel or working metal? go out to the fields jebediah! the wheat needs to be reaped!
men sitting on their asses and telling women to assume their traditional roles is laughable. lol go back to work at the coal mine and build me a house
ill make you a sandwich after you go to war and die
I recently gave myself a crash course in jewelry-making to design a pair of guillotine earrings, inspired by some friendsā interest in the pair from the French Revolution that made the rounds on Twitter a while back. Assembled from laser-cut walnut, gold-plated findings, and Czech glass beads.
Decided to make a few more available on Etsy!

when we breathe heavily after, say, holding our breath underwater, we donāt call that breathingĀ ācompulsiveā. we donāt say weāreĀ āoverbreathingā.
when we nap bc we got 4 hours of sleep the night before, we donāt see that compensatory act as something pathological. we think,Ā āmy body didnāt get the amount of sleep it needs and now itās making up for itā
but we will restrict our food intake as much as we can for as long as we can, and when the reactive eating inevitably comes, we call itĀ ābingeingā orĀ ācompulsive overeatingā, instead of seeing it (as w the other functions) as a biological drive to meet one of our bodiesā basic needs.
we donāt have this different view of eating patterns bc itās actually the case that compensatory eating is pathological⦠we view it in the way we do bc weāve been thoroughly indoctrinated by diet culture, a form of social control
my therapist was talking about this a little while ago. She was talking about how cycles of deprivation tend to function likeĀ deny yourself a physical need (food, rest, emotion, etc.) Ā ā> your body takes over and you [eat a lot/arenāt able to do anything physically or psychologically draining/experience extreme emotions] for a period of time ā> you feel guilty/ashamed/worthless ā> you deny yourself a physical need
and she said that most of us are conditioned to believe (if we recognize this as a problem/something weāre genuinely struggling with at all) that the way to solve it is through trying to force ourselves to stop āover-indulgingā in our needs. But the way to break the cycle isnāt during the deprivation or the need-recovery stagesā itās during the stage where you feel guilty/ashamed/worthless.Ā
She was saying that if you can work on that stage and start to internalize that your body keeping you alive through recovering [calories/energy/connection with yourself] is a good thing and nothing to be ashamed of, but instead something to be grateful for, then you can gradually stop depriving yourself out of an attempt to maintain self-worth, which in turn means you wonāt be waiting until your body goes into crisis mode to get your needs met.Ā
It was really insightful and itās something Iāve been kind of turning over in my head since.Ā

men are so fucking stupid
1.7% of people are intersex, 2% have green eyes, and 1.5 percent are redheads, but yeah red is a natural hair color, green is a natural eye color, and being intersex is a 'deformity'. Keep pretending gender isn't a social construct
0.0006% of people in the world live in Ireland and we all agree that People Live In Ireland.
Anonymous higher ed pros share their dissatisfaction with having to reopen
I've seen a number of students complain about having to pay full price for an online education. Then I see people act like administrators are trying to line their pockets by allowing campus to reopen as if it's a for-profit institution. At our school, all of upper admin took 10% pay cuts. Staff and faculty making over $50,000 took pay cuts (not me! Woo!) The fact is, hundreds of staff have lost their jobs at my school and hundreds more will if campus doesn't reopen. No one should act like this is an easy situation to navigate or like the right answer is obvious. I'm incredibly lucky that I haven't been laid off yet and that I can work from home. Our school is already facing a budget shortfall of millions of dollars. I just really resent the attitude that schools that are reopening in the fall must be run by reckless, thoughtless, money grubbers.
