Read (listened to) Asimov’s novelette Bicentennial Man for the first time. It was surprisingly touching, despite the lingering memories of the mawkish film based on the story.

On that note, Asimov’s positronic robots series of books are a mixed bag. The innate misogyny is annoying of course, especially the frequent addendum that Susan Calvin, the first ever robot psychologist, was fugly, and of course, single.

But the robot series are overall enjoyable to read and reread if you squint at the misogyny and the occasional dubious ethics. The short stories are great, especially the ones featuring Susan Calvin like Liar! and the duo of workmen Powell and Donovan like Reason.

I read the first Foundation book recently, as it was retconned into the positronic robot-verse by Asimov. But I’m not sure if I’ll continue with the series as it doesn’t overtly feature robots.

I wanted to get a video of this ghost crab but every time I got close to their hole they scuttled back in, so I tried getting clever with it. I made a little sandcastle and shoved my phone into it, hit record, and walked away. Crab was VERY suspicious of this addition to their environment.
