The point of the LGBT community is meant as a community for non-cisgender and non-heterosexual people, who face systematic oppression(not just discrimination).

While there is certainly an argument that asexuals do face discrimination I don’t think the LGBT community is the best community for asexuals and aromantics unless they themselves are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or trans.

Yes, and asexuals don’t fall under the norm for heterosexuals. If there is a trans person, and they like the opposite sex, they are still technically straight. For example, if a FTM is dating a woman, that is technically a straight relationship. That doesn’t change anything. Not only that, but stonewall even flys the ace flag?????? Like, why is it suddenly not okay for certain types of people to be apart of this community?? Not to mention the OP of this post is bi.

I don’t know why it’s such a big deal whether or not some people are having sex, but that doesn’t change the fact that asexualality is apart of the LGBTQ+ community, as it definitely is oppressed and not widely accepted.

Ace people face issues everyone else within this community does as well. Please respect that, and understand that you may not personally get it, but that doesn’t make it any less valid.

The thing is that trans people are not cisgender. So they fit into the LGBT community.

As far as I know asexuals don’t get told they can’t rent a house or apartment because they are asexual. Meanwhile lesbians, gays, bisexuals, trans can be kept from renting a place because of who their partners are or if they’ve had sex change.

Speaking of sex changes. Transgender people can literally be fired for coming out as transgender.

Nobody is keeping Cisgender asexuals and aromantics from getting a job or renting somewhere based on their sexuality.

And that’s a big part of why the LGBT community was created. So LGBT people could bring awerness to such things.
