Remember when I said that I moved over to kimmyiewrites? Welllllllllll apparently when I went to change my name on this other blog I had I apparently didn't save it so it didn't stick. If you got a follow from a blog called wholelottawomanrp that was me. I fixed it now so that it really is kimmyiewrites. So if you still wanna follow my antics give that blog a follow.
So here’s the thing...I’m turning this blog into an archive. I’ve had this thing since I started college so it’s been through a lot because I’ve been ever so indecisive as I’ve been growing and learning and becoming the person I am right now in this very moment.
Just because I’m archiving this particular blog does not mean that I’m going away. Oh no, just the opposite. I’m gearing up to finally get a blog together that I think will really show who I am and who’ve I’ve become and will be able to ebb and flow as I do.
If you would like to follow along with me in the next step of my journey feel free to follow me over @kimmyiewrites
Fandom: Hamilton: An American Musical
Ship: Lafayette x Peggy
AN: This is based off an AU that my friend and I are roleplaying in with these two babes. I’m pretty sure I’ve explained what is needed to be understood but essentially Peggy is a journalist from New York and Lafayette is a French diplomat. ANYWAYS enjoy this head canon turned drabble because I couldn’t get it out of my head all day.
It has been quite the week for the journalist and the diplomat. The journalist; Peggy Schuyler, American, in Paris on assignment to cover Fashion Week. The diplomat; Gilbert Lafayette, French, only at the event because his betrothed is releasing her spring line for the year. Peggy had been taking pictures for her article when she noticed Lafayette sitting on the other side of the stage. As any girl would, she started snapping pictures to show her friends later, to create this elaborate story of how she just missed out on this beautiful human being because she was working. He caught her though and at the after party he found her and something they swore only happened in movies happened to them.
They left the party early and started a week long fling. She would get some work done and when he felt like she had worked long enough, he would persuade her to leave and go on some adventure with him. It really didn’t take a lot of persuading on his end to get her to say yes. There was something about him that just drew her to him and the same for him with her. There were trips to the Eiffel Tower and to a bakery, even a vineyard but nothing could prepare them for what would happen the day before Peggy left for America.
Peggy’s favorite color is yellow. It was one of the first things that Lafayette learned about the journalist he caught taking his picture. He had wanted to do something special for Peggy’s last day in France. Her true last day had no room for him to whisk her away somewhere despite him having this urge to just keep her with him for forever. There was a beautiful field of sunflowers just outside of the city. She liked the color yellow and if he thought of a flower to describe the beautiful woman, sunflowers were what came to mind.
He was glad his gut feeling had been right. He had managed to talk her into spending the whole day with him instead of working. She had said some flippant remark about how everything was just going to be the exact same as the previous days so what her editor didn’t know wouldn’t hurt. He grinned at that and whisked her away for a tour of his home. They ended with the sunflowers.
Peggy had lit up at the sight of the field. She stopped to smell one of the large yellow blooms. Lafayette looked over at this beautiful woman who had snuck into his life and turned it upside down. He smiled, loving seeing her so happy. Her smile already lit up a room but it seemed like today it was trying to outshine the sun.
She looked over at him and he tried to look away so she wouldn’t know that he was staring. He still had a soft smile on his lips though. He was surrounded by the flowers and she honestly didn’t know if she had ever seen a sight more beautiful. This man whom she didn’t think she would have ever met had just appeared in her life and had made her begin to question everything. Both of her sisters were successful not only in their careers but also had some of the most beautiful families. Peggy loved her nieces and nephews and had resigned herself to being the super cool aunt who always came back from trips with gifts for them and always had crazy stories. She wasn’t going to get the family or the loving husband but there was something about Lafayette that made her rethink her whole life. Maybe she could have that.
She snapped a picture of the moment that made her confusing thoughts come to the forefront of her mind before turning back out to the field. Her existential crisis could wait and she could pause the thoughts of what if she actually didn’t go back to New York? Peggy pocketed her phone and then just took off running. She ran for a bit, laughter bubbling as she began to spin, just letting herself be free, not worrying about anything.
Lafayette watched as she ran out to the middle of the field. The sight of seeing her so free was breathtaking. He didn’t think he had ever seen anything so beautiful. He was trapped here. His father was Prime Minister and since his family had been tied to the royals for such a long time they still believed in certain things, which included arranged marriages. The bride chosen for him was a fashion designer and his father thought it would be great for business if they were to marry. He hated it. He wanted to marry for love. Was that really such a bad notion? He really didn’t even want to have any of the responsibilities of a diplomat. He wanted to be as free as Peggy seemed to be feeling as she spun around the flowers. He wanted Peggy.
He swore his heart skipped a beat at that thought. Could he really be in love with this girl in such a short amount of time? With her at his side he had never felt so free and he really wasn’t sure if he was ready to let her go. He felt like he could really love Peggy Schuyler. With that thought in mind he ran out to join her. He wrapped his arms around her, picking her up a bit as he spun around. Peggy squealed at the suddenness of being lifted from the ground but soon both of their laughs filled the air.
When he got dizzy, he set her back down on the ground. She turned around so she could look up at him. Before she could say anything, he leaned down and captured her lips with his. She brought her arms up to wrap around his neck as he brought his hands up to cup her face. He deepened it just slightly before pulling away. Peggy stared up at him, slightly dazed as most of his kisses usually left her. “What was that for?” She asked.
“Just because.” He replied, smiling down at her.
They both knew that they were in trouble. They just didn’t know how much.
